Compare and contrast
Each week here on the iPM blog, we'll post a running order of how the programme looks in its embryonic form after our Monday meeting. What we hope will make iPM unique for the BBC is that YOU then send in your comments or suggestions about the stories, pointing us to material elsewhere on the internet that you know about that will enhance the item.
However...severe technical problems suffered by all BBC blogs during the week meant we weren't able to show you the running order as we'd hoped.
We can do so now, as most of the issues have been resolved, so here's what iPM looked like on Monday afternoon:

I'm sure you're sick sore and tired of the subject, but (as you might have noticed) you're launching iPM just as the technology it's based on is falling about your metaphorical ears. I would assume a significant portion of your audience will come from those affected by or at least aware of, the recent technical difficulties. What about a piece explaining whats been going on and what the solution might be? Maybe you could expand it - the Beeb can't be the only organisation whose IT infrastructure has been overtaken by demand. Mmm must be honest, written down like that it doesn't look the most captivating piece you'll ever do, but it is important though.
Peej - you've hit the nail on the head. I agree that the whole notion stands or falls on the technology, so why not use that as a piece? Those who haven't experienced these particular difficulties yet may well do so elsewhere! The Beeb can't be alone in having problems?

Technical problems across the BBC's blog network is obviously a big concern for us. But we've decided to gallantly go ahead anyway!
The BBC are very aware of the problems and I'd ask you to bear with us. Peter Barron, Editor of BBC Newsnight, has
written about our Blog problems on the Editors news blog which you may find interesting.
We'll try to keep everyone informed about any technical difficulties. And you can continue to contact us via email or use our Facebook group.
You can also take your comments, suggestions and any technical problems to a new BBC Internet blog.

I;m quite good at IT stuff - but you don't seem too good at explanations and instructuions!
I can engage with the Saturday programme via iPM - OK, HOW do I do it?
WHERE to I input mu 2Pence worth?
Short of extending this 'comment string' to infinity, HOW do I input to the process?
For example, re the recent stushie about child labour, I'm not 100% sure that stopping it would be 100% beneficial for the children involved, but HOW would I propose that as a Saturday iPM topic?
Mr Poad (6): Thanks for the heads up. The site is a bit cluttered at the moment as we find our blog feet, and we're looking at how to make the process of contributing more transparent.
The place to propose new stories and treatments is the Rough Notes section, which appears every Tuesday. Here's the current one for this Saturday's (virtual) programme:

That's for new ideas, but for stories that are already 'in production', you can comment either on the running order for that week or on the individual post for that story. If there's a particular guest we should be chasing or an angle we should be exploring, this is where we hope you'll let us know.
