Filling the BBC Introducing spot on the Radio 1 playlist this week are Prides and Out Of The Blue. The track will be played by Fearne Cotton, Greg James, Scott Mills and host of other Radio 1 daytime DJs all week. Revel in its glory below and tell us what you think in the comments section.

Prides- Out of The Blue

Hometown: Prides are a trio from Glasgow.

Style: Out Of The Blue is a stunning beast of a tune. If Arcade Fire were from Scotland, they'd come close to resemembling Prides, who deliver indie-pop with a high HQ. The pounding drums, sharp synth refrain and understated vocal combine for an exciting sonic experience and provide another great case study, following Chrvches, Fatherson and Hector Bizerk, of how exciting the Scottish music scene is.

You need to know: Prides totally nailed it on our stage at Reading and Leeds Festival this year. You can watch a couple of tracks, including Out Of The Blue, on our site now.

Supported by: BBC Radio Scotland have been backing Prides as has our BBC Introducing show on Radio 1. Not to mention hundreds of excited and influential bloggers eager for more material from the band.

    Brilliant band, brilliant music.

    Fred......priceless innuendo.

I'm confident the quality of Prides music and their performances transcend any perceived issue you imagine.

Well done Prides. Onwards & Upwards

Is this not a bit of a conflict considering their manager is Ally McCrae who is a Radio 1 DJ? Shouldn't be allowed.

I've seen these guys twice now, once last month at Leeds and once supporting Fatherson, they are incredible and well deserved of the success they will receive. Really nice guys too.

Dead air is a crime do I'll be first to chip in.

Saw these guys at Leeds, brilliant song and going by their set a lot more to come.
Spoke with them afterwards and seem like pleasant hard working guys. Will the drummer be growing a beard too ?
