On the Radio 1 Playlist this week are Broken Hands and their track No One Left To Meet. As the BBC Introducing representative on the station’s playlist, the track will get played on daytime shows including Fearne Cotton, Dev and Greg James. You can hear it below.
Hometown: The band (brothers Dale and Callum Norton, Jamie Darby and Thomas Ford) are from Canterbury, where they have been busy readying new material for 2014.
Style: The band cite their influences as space rock, psychedelic garage and blues and who are we to argue because the result is a highly crafted, driving sound shaped around Dale’s amazingly eerie vocal. The track has produced by Tom Dalgety, who has previously worked with BBC Introducing faves Royal Blood and The Maccabees.
You need to know: The band have already opened for Band Of Skulls on their UK tour and head out next with Rough Trade’s Howler in March. This follows a short trip to SXSW 2014.
Supported by: BBC Introducing in Kent has had the back of Broken Hands ever since they uploaded their first track, Curves, to the Uploader in April 2013.
