Hometown: Nathan Day, Dave Williams and Jack Bentham form Darlia, a rock trio from Blackpool.
Style: Having been described as ‘the most exciting new guitar band in the UK’, this gives you a taste of what to expect from Darlia. With the perfect combination of moody punk-pop vocals, killer rock guitar riffs and an incredible set list under their belt, you won’t want to miss Darlia as they break through in 2014.
You need to know: Darlia are one of many amazing new artists playing on the BBC Introducing stage at Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Glasgow this week. They’ll also be appearing at Reading & Leeds Festival in August, as well as starting a headline tour across the UK in September. But the boys haven’t always been jumping from gig-to-gig; after finishing school, Nathan and Jack became cleaners at their old school before deciding they needed to leave the place and... luckily for us, they formed Darlia!
Supported by: Darlia have been supported along this incredible journey by BBC Introducing in Lancashire, as well as receiving a high volume of on-air support from Huw Stephens and Zane Lowe. They also performed in the Live Lounge on Fearne Cotton's show from the Radio 1's Academy last week.
