On the playlist: Picture Book - Why Are We Wasting Our Time

This week, Picture Book are the BBC Introducing artist on the Radio 1 playlist. Excellent news for them as it means their track Why Are We Wasting Our Time will get played on daytime shows including Greg James, Scott Mills and Fearne Cotton. Hometown: Picture Book are brothers Dario Darnell and Lorne Ashley. The pair were born in New York but raised in Manchester.

Style: Taken from their second EP, Songs About Aimee, Why Are We Wasting Our Time fuses ambient pop with larger house melodies that motors along above an infectious sonar beat. Picture Book are an immensely creative duo as is displayed by their attention grabbing aLIve concept shows where they rework and remix tracks on the go.

You need to know: Dario and Lorne's father is August Darnell, lead singer and founder of Kid Creole and The Coconuts. The genes are strong in these two!
