    Comment number 1.

Lies, lies, lies and more lies. Despite what the BBC advertises so strongly and frequently, the Red Button is NOT available for viewing the Shanghai Athletics. Nor will it will available for audience participation when the Eurovision finals are shown later tonight. Why keep on advertising a service that must be only partially available - certainly not to everyone. Interactive TV sounds good (Antiques Roadshow etc) but it is NOT available via the Red Button as you insist on advertising. This is misleading, false advertising and a downright lie. So, when will you deliver what you promises - when will I be able to use the Red Button in the way you falsely claim I can?

Thanks for your comment tonybee. Are you a Virgin TiVo customer? Right now Connected Red Button does not currently feature eTV (enhanced TV) streams on the Virgin TiVo service. While users can already enjoy live coverage and highlights from a range of sporting events on the service, we are working to extend this capability to a wider range of events, starting from June 2013.
If you are not using Virgin TiVo, please let us know whether you are a satellite or freeview user and the make and model of your set top box because it could be that the red button functionality is impaired on that particular device. Many thanks, Tess.

Thanks Tess ... I am a BT Vision customer and the Red Button has not been available for many months, ever since they "updated" and gave us this "exciting new" version. So tonight I am again being told lies by the BBC in that I can watch the athletics from New York on Saturday via the red button. No, I can't. Nor can I play along with Antiques Roadshow. Nor can I access or do any of the things the BBC stridently tells me I can do. Why not at least qualify your promotions by saying these programs are available only to SOME viewers? This is misleading, dishonest and bordering on malpractice. And BT simply say they are working on it and it will be available "soon". How long is "soon"? It's getting close to a year now.

Hi Tess ... the information you require is I am using Freeview (BT Vision) with a Dolby Digital Plus "integrated digital terrestrial receiver) Item Code 060604, The only other number seems to be UB 5409 1128 6471 349. Hope this helps - frustration and anger are rising. No athletics for me this weekend.
