Red Button digital text changes
Over the next few weeks, we'll be making some changes to the BBC's Red Button text services.
We are performing some technical work behind the scenes from Monday 4 February to remove the final parts of the publishing processes still powered by the recently discontinued Ceefax service.
We've tried to keep any changes to the public service to a minimum, but there will be some alterations to the content provided. For full details of the changes are listed on the Red Button service on p998.
Red Button events on Virgin Tivo
Right now Connected Red Button does not currently feature eTV (enhanced TV) streams on the Virgin TiVo service.
While users can already enjoy live coverage and highlights from a range of Sporting events on the service, we are working to extend this capability to a wider range of events, on and off-schedule content
during 2013.

Please is there any hope of a reprieve of the decision to close Red Button Text page 1040 - Read Hear, the platform for d/Deaf and hearing impaired people and the decision to close Red Button Text page 1050 - Community - covering the issues that matter to local communities, from updates on disability and charity news beyond the Lifeline Appeal to in-depth features and calls for volunteers? These are edited by CSV Action Network and are, after all, a great example of Public Service Broadcasting.

I do hope the BBC reconsiders its position publishing the Lottery results on Red Button seeing as the Premium Bond winners' information is to be removed from the Text service.

I have 3 deaf children ranging from age 3 to 8, and I found the read hear on the red button, very informative, and looked forwards to reading each new issue every Friday. I was really disappointed to find that it no longer exists. I am a hearing parent, and it was interesting to learn about the views of other deaf/Deaf people, it is as important to me as watching See Hear, I watch that, and read the red button page of Read Hear on behalf of my children. I pay for the TV licence for all of the things it can offer, and was hoping that this invaluable service to a community would remain. very upset.
