Scarlett Johansson's bath...

Greg James | 15:33 UK time, Thursday, 26 April 2012

I had Scarlett Johansson on the show yesterday.  We had to go to a posh hotel to do the interview.  They basically rent out one of the rooms to the movie company for the stars to sit in.  It had an adjoining bathroom.

This is me in Scarlett's bath - eating a sandwich dressed as some bloke from The Avengers.

My response to the Riverdance Massage...

In response to this wonderful Riverdance Massage...Here is my version.  The Beyonce Massage. Starring Rhianna, our lovely film reviewer.

Brace yourselves.

Surprise Titanic...

Greg James | 14:46 UK time, Wednesday, 18 April 2012

This is a wonderful discovery!  Katie and her friends decided to merge two things I've done on the show recently:  Surprise Shakespeare (reinacting a famous scene from The Bard on Public Transport and my reinactment of a famous scene from Titanic with Kate Winslet.

This time, in a supermarket carpark.

Here is Surprise Titanic!

I would like to encourage you all to have a go at this.  Maybe at school, college or your place of work.  Stop everything and bash out a bit of Titanic.  It'll make a boring day much more interesting...

Send it to me: and I'll put the best ones on the blog.

Maximo happiness...

Greg James | 19:17 UK time, Tuesday, 10 April 2012

Oh my. Oh my.  This is nothing but a pure boast and for that I don't even apologise.

The new Maximo Park album 'The National Health' was given to me today.  Best day ever.

Anyone who knows me will know that I'm a huge fan of this band.  Ever since their first album 'A Certain Trigger' came out in 2004 - I was hooked.  There's just something about them and I feel like their music accompanied much of my 'growing up years' (!) Lyrically thought-provking and different, musically angular (like me) and spikey (like my hair) but they can still write brilliant meaningful pop songs.

There was also an awkward stalker-ish moment between me and lead singer Paul Smith in a record shop in Newcastle in 2006 but we won't bring that up again. (OK, I was buying Maximo Park vinyls and he happened to be in their too so I got him to sign them...ALL).

You'll hear their first single 'Hips and Lips' on Zane's show from 7pm on Wednesday 25th April.  The new album is out 11th June.  It's going to be a good summer I think...

My neighbours are even less organised than me...

Greg James | 15:18 UK time, Friday, 6 April 2012

Spotted this on the way home last night.  My neighbour appears to have just decided to be rid of his Christmas tree.  It's April 6th.  He might as well leave it for this Decemeber.

Zane Lowe makes me feel like this...

Greg James | 11:35 UK time, Thursday, 5 April 2012

Captured on the studio webcam at 7:05pm last night after my show finished.  I found a wig and hat and the music took me to a new place.  A magical new place.

Also featured:  Ian in the background flailing his arms around and Producer Laura logging off her computer.  Rock and roll.

The new show and stuff...

Greg James | 14:32 UK time, Wednesday, 4 April 2012

Hiyaaaaaaa...It felt like the first day of term on Monday.  Starting on the 4-7 show was brilliant but I was a mess at 3:50pm.  A good mess though.  If I hadn't been nervous I think something would be wrong. So, we're off and running and as I've said before, doing this show is an absolute dream - it's the show that I listened to as a lanky spotty teenager that made me want to get into radio.

We had our first team outing last night to the Rita Ora gig...Last time I was at that venue it was seeing Jessie J before she got massive (not wise I mean).  There was a simliar feeling last night about Rita I think. Things are about to take off.  I got a shout out at the gig too because 'RIP' (her new single) is my 'Big Thing' this week.  Lots of quotation marks there. I was predictably awkward when she bigged me up because WHAT DO YOU DO?  I put my hand up, waved, everyone turned and looked at me and I just pointed at her.  Coooool.
