An idea...
In these difficult financial times, we all need as much help as we can to make ourselves feel better off. I have come up with a potentially genius idea:
BRING BACK THE £1 NOTE!
Whenever you look in your wallet or purse and you see a load of notes, you think - 'ahhh yes, I've got a load of money'. If you look in, and you've got a few 50 pences and a couple of pound notes, you get depressed.
Imagine - you're buying a newspaper and some crisps, it comes to 76p...you whip out a £1 note to pay for it. You'll feel like a million dollers. Well, you'll feel like a £1 note.
The £1 note used to be around in the 80s. Why did it go?!

The pound coin was intorduced to aid the blind and because they last longer...
but i agree I d feel ever the rich kid wiping out £1 notes to pay for a hot chocolate.

Bring them back!!!! It's been far too long since i've had a nice 'wad' in my purse :((( I'd be throwing them up in the air and bathing in them. Lol x

If y'all want the £1 note back, that's cool. And I don't mean to be a downer, but in my experience, having $1 bills really doesn't make me feel any better. It might actually make me feel slightly worse. This is just a warning that you may in fact be disappointed should this campaign succeed.

The pound note is possibly the best thing Jersey has......i feel sorry for you in the UK living without this beautiful creation it definitely makes me feel more rich when i look into my purse and see a nice wad of pound notes!

Nah, flawed logic Greg. You'd open your wallet and think you had loads of money, but then realise you've only got a couple of quid. Could make for some embarassing situations!!!

We still have them in Scotland, i work in a supermarket and they are always in the till for change. But yeah bring them back!

YES!! Bring back the pound note.. It will save pound coins getting lost in my sofa.. Also. They're pretty and make me feel important when i have a few quid in my wallet.. Makes me feel minted. Which is a rare delight for a student.. Gosh I'm Poor.. Pleease hurry with the pound coin.

No no no. I live in Scotland. There are very few left but when you get one it's bad news and you try and get rid of it again as quickly as possible. What could be worse than opening your wallet and thinking, Yay! Wonga! only to suffer the crashing disappointment when you realise it's only pennies disguised as notes.

i love living in guernsey and having pound notes!! you guys must get annoyed with the heavy wallets and pockets!! i hate it when i come home from a trip to the uk and i have loads of coins!!

That's awesome, here in Canada we used to have a one dollar bill but not since I've been alive haha! I remember the two dollar bill (now we have the toonie coin), you don't see those around too often anymore!

One Pound, a little bit of money in our times of crisis but a banknote for still a already good deal of things to get. Return to the good past days, to be happy with a few... Popular culture, pop-culture for all with cheap precious goods. In England, time is money, let's get a little bit of time with a small amount of written money-paper. The Queen on it should be its symbol
