Hi hope you are all well.

Over the past week we have seen again how hard it is to predict who will gain promotion from League Two over the past week.

Normally by this stage of the season you tend to have an idea who the major forces in the division will be and gaps start to open up between teams but this has not been the case during this campaign.

Take my club Notts County - we are currently in 14th place but are only 12 points off the top of the league.

Hi, hope you are all well.

There are many jobs tougher than mine, but few involve ups and downs as extreme as those involved in professional football.

There are not many better feelings than driving home after you have put in a good display and your team has earned a victory. You can't wait for the next game, the next chance to get out on the pitch and show what you can do. You have cemented your place in the side for another week and are looking forward to a good week's training.

Hi hope you are all well.

Throughout the course of my career I have been lucky enough to come across some incredible characters. There is a myth that all these characters are gone from the game, but I like to think that some of them are - to an extent - merely hidden away in the lower reaches of the leagues. Hi, hope you are all well.

As you know I have represented quite a few clubs in my career and as a consequence that means there are a lot of results to look out for on a Saturday after my own match has finished.

Some clubs obviously mean more to me than others purely because of the length of time I spent there and the friendships that are built up over the years.

Hi. Hope you and your team had a good weekend.

We, Notts County, finally got our season up and running with a hard fought 2-1 victory against a very good Aldershot side on an emotional day for everyone connected with the club following the passing of Jimmy Sirrel. Just a quick note of thanks to the travelling Aldershot fans who at various times in the game broke into a chorus of "there's only one Jimmy Sirrel".

If anyone was at the game feel free to give me your opinion but I thought it was a marvellous advert for League Two football with both sides favouring attacking football in an end to end contest . All credit to Aldershot for their contribution to the game. The general consensus after the game was that they were the best team we had faced all season.
