How did you vote in the elections, or did you bother at all? Why you did you do what you did?
It was a terrible night for Labour, if you abandoned them why? UKIP and the BNP did really well. Did you vote for them ? If so why ?

Two thirds of us didn't even vote, so why didn't you bother?

quite disgraceful the way hague, harriet harmon and cameron state their disgust at the bnp winning seats in the eu elections.

disgraceful since it has been these very people who took us into wars of choice, which some claim are illegal - who along with their media affiliates have been scapegoating islam and muslims for that deceitful and murderous decision.

how does the bnp not gain legitimacy if the media on a daily basis encouraged by the political classes then demonise muslims and islam?

its not a shock or a surprise its only to be expected that the more unscrupulous would take advantage of parliaments dishonest politicking. and thats what the (allegedly)fascisitic bnp have done.

    Hi
I have voted Labour all my, but after all the scandals I could not vote for any of them. I spoilt both of my papers. These politicians who are suppose to represent us have been fleecing us( and have got away with it) instead and I cant believe that other so called innocent politicians did not know what was going on, but did not speak up because of fear of losing their jobs.

their was other parties people could have voted for instead of the BNP or a protest vote for the main parties.

because this year their was a lot of independents candidates and an umbrella group of independents candidates and people could have voted for the independents of the jury team.

also the media and other anti fascist groups gives the bnp more media coverage than they need.

less media coverage than people will not know about them it is due to them be a political party that they get media coverage and independents get less media coverage.

Cameron says the BNP are `disgraceful because the do not allow blacke and asians into their party`. This statement is inflamatorily (sp.?) racist . Why ? Because he cleverly ommited to say they (BNP) also exclude people from USA ,Australia, France,Holland etc etc, simply because they are not "British".

We have lost the right to whinge about politicians in this country. The electorate had the opportunity to show their complete disgust with the political system and a) none of the main parties were "punished" by any real form of protest vote nationally b) most of us chose to stay indoors and watch the telly. You had your chance to register your complete disgust with the political system and you blew it. You've given the political establishment total license to do whatever they want to you. You chose to watch Eastenders instead, you deserve what you've got coming to you. So can we move on please, the political revolution has ended, can we please have more on Jordan and Peter Andre, clearly that's all the British people are interested in.

I can understand why lots of working class people vote BNP. People feel that they are not listened to and that the main parties ignore their concerns. The Labour Party in particular seem to be immune from the pleas of many working class areas and are all too eager to pander to the middle classes.

Let me give an example. During the credit crunch last year, the Labour Party tightened up the rules concerning people coming here via work permits. They raised the bar both in terms of the qualifications and wages making it harder for people with skills to come here. As middle class unemployment started to bite the Government of the day moved swiftly to protect their wages, terms and conditions. The Labour Party listened to concerns of the middle classes because they will switch votes.

However, they cannot or will not protect working class wages, terms and conditions. Two million people from Eastern Europe have been de facto head hunted in order to undercut some of the weakest, least protected, poorest workers in our society. People have been critical of the BNP, but the Labour Party have been cynically using immigrant labour to drive millions of people into poverty and means tested benefits. We saw British workers being sidelined in our own Country, but the Labour Party and the left in general side with the European workforce against our own people.

Why is that the Labour Party will protect the incomes of architects, financial consultants and the like, but service industry jobs can all fight among themselves for the crumbs that fall from the table?

I'm just so angry the BNP has made gains in these elections - its all very well doing the protest vote thing - but this is the result you get - extremists like the BNP getting a publicly funded platform.

For goodness sake find out just what these people are really about before putting that precious cross in the box.

The success of the BNP can be laid at one man's door- the Editor of the Telegraph since the people have been duped by the biggest electorial contrick in history. The revelations have been trickled out to produce the very worst effect on labour politicians. a few minor tories have been outed but no central characters have been involved. However a local paper covered the actions of Dominic Grieve whose claimed expenses were about £130,000 £19,000 for a cottage etc There must be others similarly involved. How unfair can you get?
But all the parties have been harmed and hence the appalling results, Maybe the Editor should be offered the of draft of hemlock but unlike Socrates I doubt he would take it.

The BNP only won two seats in the European Parliament yet there was clearly an air of euphoria in 5 Live Breakfast's coverage from 6am this morning.

One might have been forgiven for thinking they'd won an overall majority judging by the way the programme repeatedly played clips of the victory speeches of the two winning now BNP MEP's!

The main story should have been that the Tories made substantial gains due to their own failed policies admnistered by New Labour.

Far right parties have always thrived on the failure of moderate right wing economic policies. The reason so many traditional Labour voters appeared to opt for the BNP classicly exposes how New Labour's abandonment of core Labour principles and it's adoption of Tory free market neoliberal policies has meant many voters, particularly if on the wrong end of the recession have become totally disenfranchised.

However now that the BNP have MEP's in the Parliament they'll have to be more specific over where they stand on mainstream issues away from immigration and race and that should be interesting.

For example, what are they? Capitalist or socialist? Where do they stand on issues like privatisation, health, education and the bailing out of the corporate sector. How would their all white Brit economy have prevented the global credit crunch and what would its relationship be with the USA?

When it comes to the crunch all these right wing outfits like the BNP and to an extent UKIP are just glorified right wing Tories and the only way to deal with them is to engage them properly on the political platform so this fact can be wielded out of them!

As far as gordon brown now is in listening mode i just dont believe him.
He repalced a good and trusted Welsh secretary and replaced him with a man that was thrown out of the cabinet for his antics in attempting to become deputy P.M. (financial), and he is far from clean over his expenses.
The only benefit to Gordon Brown is that he will back him 100% as he still wants to be his No 2.
The man is not liked or trusted by anyone in Wales and it is no wonder that we have let the Tories in.
    I despair!!

    My way

That is democracy, there are people you will never agree with.

However, there have been many times people are duped into following such extremist views or promises.

You want to start worrying now as the so-called mainstream political party is wanting to bring the vote down to 16.

There is still hope for us all yet; as long as the media stops the hysterical frenzies and have constructive debate with balanced views and honest stories. The BBC is included here (Five Live Mr Pinar)!

    Surprise, surprise!

After four weeks of filling its pages with revelations and scandal over MP's expense claims, today's edition of the openly Tory Daily Telegraph, the first after Labour's drubbing in the local and Euro elections contained absolutely nothing about it!

These details of MP's expense claims could have been revealed months ago by any investigative probing journalist. They were clearly kept in abeyance by the Daily Telegraph until four weeks ago in order to cause maximum havoc to a Labour government albeit how pathetically right wing it is!

It's all very well trying to clean up the role of MP's and the voting system unless the mainstream media is cleaned up and democratised itself.
