Eating fish from a bra.....
is one of the initiation ceremonies thet we've been hearing about at universities after we told you about the video footage of an initiation ceremony from the University of Gloucestershire.
A university spokesman said a formal inquiry was being launched into alleged "bullying and intimidation" during initiation ceremonies.
The National Union of Students has called for a ban on initiations.

Absolutely pathetic. All those who took part - the 'leaders', the followers... everyone. This is a product of the UK education system and society...?
What are they thinking? Am I going to be the only one to say 'grow up' and have 'fun' in another way?

Initiation ceremonies? This has never convinced me. Fish from a bra - food out of plaice - cod piece of clothing.
The oddities one must go through.
Take the Law - how to get truth past set minds - several times. I cannot imagine if you come from one strata of our so called broken society it would have been necessary. You would have been waived thru' - spelling deliberate Mr Cameron. The Professor - Spelling Society - said so.
Broken society - feels more like our society is being patronised again.

although no suprise, these type of ceremonies, of course some are more extreme than others, have no controls, and are at the whim of dangerous mentalities.
This activity shows many of the symptoms of the alcohol filled and fueled mainstream life experience now the expected norm.
Also the worrying images (even though some might be 'for a laugh' - a dangerous concept, as well) of right wing domination and just sadistic violence and abuse.
It is highly worrying and is more and more prevalent.
It is becoming more and more difficult for modern young people to make informed and independant choices - the tribal nature of this is powerful and dangerous
How will these 'students' behave in the future if this is how they start ??

These initiation ceremonies go back decades and are as your item pointed out associated with sports socieites at universities. Boat clubs at Oxford, David Cameron's "great univesity" are good examples. What is interesting about those and the University of Gloucestershire in its former incarnation St.Paul's College is that like the Max Moseley case all usually occurred behind close doors, on campus, in college. College and university authorities turned a blind eye unless the damage became excessive. Boys will be boys. But that is no excuse for condoning such behaviour nor for only becoming upset when it becomes videoed. in public spaces. The communities around universities have had to put up with this sickening behaviour for years.

I judge I am not allowed opinions on a certain subject - raised in the headlines this PM - so I will not venture one.
