Leaving your mark

Andy Hall | 17:44 UK time, Monday, 20 October 2008

Have you ever scratched your initials in a public place?

We're going to be hearing on Tuesday how a window which Lord Nelson scratched his initials on has been rediscovered at a pub in Old Portsmouth.

We'll be hearing how the pub manager, Paul Goldthorpe rediscovered the window just before it was about to be thrown out.

I've asked around the office and the most daring place anyone has admitted to leaving their initials was in some freshly laid concrete on a London street (very rock and roll).

Shelagh F was magnificant this morning in the presence of the conservative MP Alan Duncan. He has done himself no favours and buried himself by his manner and attitude towards calm pertinant questions. I have never been so appaulled by an MP's uncaring manner. Very proud of SF's refusal to be baited when she could easily have been rude back, she's just superb and well done to the show for not giving him any more publicity or opportunity for the interview to be re-aired. We wouldn't expect anything else but the true relaxed professionals that you are on Breakfast on 5. He has no idea how many people will now not vote conservative based on this one interview. I would tell my kids off if they spoke in this way let alone an adult, he just seemed to be panicking and lashing out.
