Free beer at Bolton!

David Lennon | 18:02 UK time, Friday, 17 October 2008

A pint and an afternoon at the football go hand in hand.

The first 1,000 Bolton Wanderers fans at Saturday's home game against Blackburn will receive a free pint of beer. The club hope it will bring fans together to create a better atmosphere at the Reebok stadium.

The chairman Phil Gartside spoke to Phil Williams for the Weekend Breakfast programme and you can hear the full interview here....

A good interview. I hope this pre match thinking transfers down south. I support a London club, and struggle to pay for my ticket, a pie and a pint. I have recently got married and what with this credit crunch am struggling to keep my wife and the footie. Maybe you could try speaking to London Clubs about introducing this.... Surely football attendances as a whole will struggle during the credit crunch
