Phil's Williams at the London Olympic site

Alex Murray | 18:48 UK time, Saturday, 23 August 2008

Earlier this week Phil took a trip down to Stratford in East London to talk to the Olympic Delivery Authority Chairman John Armitt and see for himself how construction work on the London 2012 Olympic complex is progressing. The full report and interview will feature in Weekend Breakfast on Sunday 24 August.

You can listen and watch an audio slideshow of Phil's report below.

Morning Shelagh and Phil ( It is "SOWNA" not SAWNA, Phil) lol

I switched off though. Not at that but at the fuss over the promotional film and a split second image of an odious person.

Though the film has been seen before, Radio Fours Today say its offending image was spotted by a £roomful of sharp eyed journalists".

Spare me sharp eyed journalists and their prejudices. If 2012 is to be run by them - give the Games to someone else - I say. Arthur Smith had it about right. It was a gaffe that is now going to fill the Bird Nest Stadium we aren't going to build.

So I laughed at the "Ping Pongs coming home" remark from Mayor Johnson but a sharped eared journalist may wonder who this "Pong" was in China's history and why his Pong Dynasty is being exported to Great Britain. But 2012 isn't being run on my prejudices thank goodness.
