Gold medals everywhere again? Well done.
If you cannot say anything nice - say nothing. OK then mothers mine.
I have been thinking of Captains of Inns Dusty - noting the Queens "china" I ate from yesterday - celebrating loyalty from her subjects between 1952 - 1977. And the rest thought I.
The china sat on a foreign table and was owned by people not Queen Elizabeths subjects but was prized greatly none the less I have no doubts.
I did not think I needed my friends to validate me - OR my friends relations but it seems I do. Former Captains of Industry and the Press perhaps. In my wifes place of birth?
I have wonderful friends and bless 'em! But Britain. For shame. And "et tu, Suomi?"
Allegiance to the British Royal family? Misplaced loyalty? Not a bit of it - except from me I thought. Mine is constantly being buffeted by the winds that brought down that tree branch in the middle of Turku (Äbo - pronounced "oboe" - sort of) last Thursday. What a metaphor for a life I selfishly thought but it was JUST a wind instrument! Pardon! lol
