He's been President of the United States for 8 years - and now George Bush is on a "farewell tour", visiting the UK. On Breakfast this morning we asked people to tell us what we should be thanking Mr Bush for, after eight years in the most powerful job in the world.

George bush is to be congratulated for making millions of people realise how irrelevant politics and economics is to the future of humanity. Both have failed and something entirely different is required - perhaps bush has started the rush away from the past. keith farnish, rayleigh, essex.

Thank you Mister Bush!
The fact that three historians dined with Mr and Mrs Bush last night intrigued me and brought to mind that story of a dying W C riffling through a copy of the Bibe. When asked why, the comedian said in his own inmitable way "Looking for loopholes!"
So I can hear the three historians saying to one another within full hearing of George W Bush "Surely there must be SOMETHING worthwhile we can point to in the last almost 8 years?"
Maybe a dry and unidentifiable voice will drift across the room "Well - I suppose you could say - we ARE still here. Isn't that worth something?"
