The reign of the mane?

Adam Cumiskey - 5 live journalist | 05:04 UK time, Saturday, 24 May 2008

Queen of the South from the Scottish first division will be hoping to cause a massive upset in the Scottish cup final this afternoon. But, off the pitch it looks like things are getting hairy. A lot of attention is being paid to the silver fox that is Doonhamers' Chairman Davie Rae.

Dubbed football's Ken Russell (by someone in the 5live Breakfast office), Rae was a successful farmer before he used the money he had made in his agricultural career to fund his dream of running Queen of the South. He has seen his team struggle at times near the bottom end of the First Division. His celebration with the fans after the quarter-final win against Dundee cemented his status as a cult hero with the Doonhamer supporters.

But, it's the hair that's caught many fans' imagination. Watch out for a few Davie Rae wigs at Hampden. What do you think of Davie Rae's locks? What are your best footballing hairstyles? And (if you fancy it) what do you think of Ken Russell?

No idea why this picture of 5live's Peter Allen is relevant...

And Jock Ewing is also confusing matters...

Morgan Freeman played one interpretation of "God" once or twice didn't he? Bruce Almighty?

Don't tell my younger half brother, Bruce. About the almighty bit. It will go to his head and after South Africa won........lol

Can anyone tell me why "winning the next General Election" seems to be the be all and end all.

2010? I have said it before - what about a bit of governing from someone. Anyone.

Everyones, oppostion included, eyes are off the "ball" seemingly. Pay attention!

Is this the end of New Labour?

When that is asked it sounds like we are asking if it is the end of Great Britain. No wonder we all have grey hair.

Naomi Campbell and Avram Grant. One lauded because she is - Naomi Campbell - role model literally for a statue I didn't read.

Mr Grant sacked! Got Chelsea to 3 finals (sort of) but won none of them.

There is no second place in Great Britain - that just used to be a USA attitude. Gordon Strachan was in danger from that mind set a few weeks back but he is forgiven for a further 10 minutes.

Walk away Gordon - those sort of Celtic fans are not worth your time. Fair weather fans.

So a rich person says "I buy a football team and spend a fortune on it on the understanding that it wins EVERYTHING" or else you (the manager) are history.

Rich person says further - all success is MINE - all failure is someone elses fault. The Sir Alan(was it Spurs) Sugars of the football world anyone? You are a lightweight manager, you're fired!

Who are these people? I foresee the Graceless One making a triumphant return.

He is well suited to the environment here in Great Britain - still!
