Throughout the day on 5 Live we're taking the pulse of the UK Economy. We've carried out a poll which suggests most people think it will take a while for any improvement. On the phone-in Nicky asked how you'll know the economy is picking up.

The news that a house purchasing strike seems to be occurring is another symptom of the financial incompetance of Gordon Brown and his cronies. The HIPs fiasco of paying a new tax for little benefit, is the final straw. As with the 10% tax bracket removal these policies have bitten the government during their term of office. The disaster yet to materialise is loss of a structured private pension scheme for the sake of ?5 billion short term gain. A policy which will most probably not show its full economic stupidity until Mr Brown is in his box. His constant reference to the financial rectitude of his term of office is one of the greatest pieces of self delusion by an incompetent politician since Chamberlin.
The electorate are not as stupid as he seems to think.

I wonder what all the fuss is about. It seems employment isn't an option once you get past a certain age and I am denied unemployment benefit until my whole family is penniless.
The Crunch Bunch? Sounds like a Cereal Killer group - corn flakes?
Playing about with euphemisms?
Bench - Church Nut or Bunch - Church Net. Explain the off side rule to them please I thought - then didn't care anymore.
I am almost done with Great Britain. They only have to bury my body and charge someone else for the privilege.

Thank Cornelius but I got the earlier heads up from Andy and him. Great Leighs. Delayed by 18 months and only levied by the thought of Kylie in hotpants.
But the thought of childlike Kylie in hotpants or an illustrated depiction of same will soon be a crime?
I remain to be convinced and yours truly of course, Shelagh and Nicky.
