The death of democracy ....
...would apparently be if Jose Mourinho was not allowed to complain that his team don't get given penalites....while Manchester United never conceed them.
That got me thinking - what other things could signify the end of democracy?

I am afraid no matter how many trophies Chelsea win this season - none or 4 - any admiration I have for their seasonal achievements will be spoilt by their managers continuing graceless behaviour.
Jose Mourinho still doesn't get it does he? The Paul Whitehouse/Harry Enfields skits on a lookalike football manager who only sees the referees fault who dares to punishes his untouchable player in Blue for skewing an opposition player in the groin with a corner flag pole. Paul's manager says with a straight face it is the referee who is a "testicle"
I listened on FiveLive to the first half and if we are to assume the two commentators were unbiased - Chelsea benefited from most of the questionable decisions in that period. Not a squeak of protest from Mourinho about that but his 20/20 vision came instantly into play as soon as a decision went against him and that was also all he saw in the previous days match where Manchester United benefited - again where Chelsea was seemingly penalised.
End of democracy, Jose, if you weren't allowed to speak against the "new rules" you perceive against your team and for Sir Alec Ferguson's unit?
No - but perhaps the end of a Chelsea manager's self deluded dictatorship. Your team has to win these awards on their own merits Mr Mourinho and they can without your humourless commentary on how hard done by they are. I am beginning to see why Mr Romanov has had a problem with you as the leader of a future of a Chelsea dynasty.
So you wonderful Chelsea players - do it for your fans - not the self opinionated Special One.
Shelagh: I will talk about the end of democracy on another spectrum.
Alan Johnston needs more support. I am writing to everyone and including his face in my blog.
Venezuela: There was a demonstration to save RCTV from closure by the Chavez Government. If RCTV closes, that would be the last from democracy.
Cuba: Castro still represses dissidents.
Zimbabwe: A Roman Catholic Priest has declared that he is willing to seek martyrdom for the cause of a free Zimbabwe.
USA: Libertarians, Greens, and other Independents are struggling for ballot access in North Carolina. The Electoral Board in North Carolina appears to be dominated by Republicans and Democrats.
Death of Democracy - I think I am suffering from that as far as the Nick Robinsons' Newslog site is concerned. He seems to have a GMTV policy on phone in competitions on what posts of mine are entered into his blogs.
Seemingly I am not allowed an opinion on anything political? I have no reason to know why - I am just censored. Good enough for FiveLive but not BBC in general. Death or Dearth of Democracy, Nick. Tut tut. Do not ever ask to talk to me about anything that doesn't really matter, fellah!
