Rumour of the day - Liverpool in for Kuyt
Only a few days left until the transfer window closes and Liverpool look the most likely to bolster their squad before the 31st August deadline. The Sun and The Mirror claim that Dutch striker Dirk Kuyt is poised to join Liverpool for £10million and could feature in their opening game of the season against Sheffield United.
Benitez has reportedly offered defender Jan Kromkamp, valued at £2million, to help broker the deal for Kuyt who has taken Ruud Van Nistelrooy's place in the Dutch team.

David Cameron has already got into a bit of a muddle over Conservative tax plans for married people - but the party is insisting if it wins the election it will act to use the tax system to encourage marriage. Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg said such action was "absurd". Are you happy for politicians to be promoting the institution or is it best to keep marriage out out of the party manifestoes? Do you think it's vital for a stable family, with children whose parents are married performing best in school and in later life.
