Happy International Blog Day!
It's International Blog day on 31st August - we found the details here.
So on the Breakfast programme on Thursday morning we'll be asking people to suggest the best blogs they've found so we can link to them. We'll post these later in the morning.
The idea is for each blog to link to five others - the more unusual and interesting the better. Obviously we want people to link to ours too.
Please let us know if you come across us on International Blog Day!

For BlogDay, I'd like to recommend http://arbroath.blogspot.com
Even though you're supposed to link up to five other blogs I can't do that - still technically challenged. After listening to the show, most of these are topical - obesity, environment, cult of celebrity etc so here are my favourites:
If you want to find out about trends, big thinking etc, this guy is the business:
http://gladwell.typepad.com/
For an inspiring read about weightloss and SO much more:
www.dietgirl.org
For celebrity gossip - pics et al:
http://www.perezhilton.com/
If you care about the environment, these guys are the business:
http://weblog.greenpeace.org/
And last but not least, a friend of mine - her blog will make you smile:
allagog.blogspot.com
That's all folks!
Woof Woof
http://reelthing.blogspot.com/ is an excellent film review blog. The four contributors really know their onions vis a vis celluloid.
I like it, I think it's good.
Hi to the breakfast crew and all at my favourite station 5Live.
I'd like to recommend the following Blog http://impysview.blogspot.com it is basically a blog that gives one guys view on the world, there is plenty of topical content in there to get the juices flowing, and many a controversial subject. Check out the weekly questions, there are quite a few valid points in them. It also has current affairs, and entertainment. In fact some of the questions asked by Impy can be part of a research thing for 5Live
Leads to real health and safety hazards
The purpose of this web site is to provide practical information that might be helpful to NEBOSH, occupational health/safety students and others, whilst taking part in their studies. It brings together in one place, photographs of hazards, poor working procedures and near misses in the workplace.

I didn't know the significance of today to us bloggers until I listened to the show this morning!
Here are some of the more unusual blogs that I link from my own blog, Lord Celery. (By the way, I've already linked the Five Live Breakfast Blog to Lord Celery as well.)
1. How I Am Becoming An Astronaut
http://damarisbsarria.blogspot.com/
Pretty self-explanatory! Fascinating account of an American woman working for NASA.
2. New York Hack
http://newyorkhack.blogspot.com/
Accounts of the life of a New York taxi driver...written with much humor and insight into New York life.
3. Separated By A Common Language
http://separatedbyacommonlanguage.blogspot.com/
"Observations on British and American English by an American linguist in the UK"
4. Barry's Baghdad Blog
http://www.1petertwofifteen.blogspot.com/
Thoughts and observations of an American working in Baghdad.
AND
5. Mr Greg's Musings
http://mrgregsmusings.blogspot.com/
"Musings" about life -- but mostly about jazz -- from an American living in Illinois. Greg is a great source of information about jazz recordings.
I hope your readers will find at least some of these as interesting as I do!
Janet
An American living in North Oxfordshire
I'd like to recommend www.nimisis.com which is all about technology, sports and small homemade software projects... Possibly the best weblog in the world!
I have never had so much fun since I started blogging, check out htpp://elleeseymour.com
I recommend Geoff Jones, who launched me into blogsphere, http://www.geoffjones.com/
Iain Dale, who gives a humorous and punchy review of political news straight from the hip, http://www.iaindale.blogspot.com/
PC Bloggs, a policewoman who gives a great grassroots account of life on the beat, http://pcbloggs.blogspot.com/
Neville Hobson, who is always one step ahead with social media, http://www.nevillehobson.com/
and Margot Wallstrom, if only more politicians could blog like her, though I would like to see a few more posts, http://weblog.jrc.ec.europa.eu/page/wallstrom/
Funnily enough, if you do a google search for "shelagh fogerty nicky campbell" one of my blogs is the 4th hit. That's a recommendation in itself.
A lot of people searching for information about Shelagh end up there. I mainly write on maximum bob, these days, but keep it to yourself.
I recommend the following blog from Astrid a genuinely wonderful but extremely busy young lady.
http://www.xs4all.nl/~walstra/astrid/
I agree with Tim from London, I love http://frankchalk.blogspot.com/ and http://coppersblog.blogspot.com/. Frank Chalk is an outspoken teacher and Coppersblog is a policeman who tells it like it is. Funny and straight talking. Brilliant.
Congradulations on International Blog Day.
I didn't know that there was anything called a blog day. Hearing it for the first time though I have been blogging for over an year now.
Blogging to me is the voice of the individual. For the first time, man has got a mass media tool that he can use to interact with total strangers. I thoroughlly enjoy blogging and hope that it grows exponentially in the years to come.
Its a pleasent coincidence that blog day has combined with my articles(coonnected to my blog) is the largest newspaper in India and one of the largest in the world.
Heppy blog day
Here's a touching blog that has already got a dedicated following about a little girl with leukaemia:
http://www.codebrush.com/sophie/
Here's a fab blog about Coronation Street:
www.corrieblog.tv
Oh hang on I contribute to that one - is that allowed? To mention it I mean! I hope so, my most recent burning question was 'Should Rita get off with Norris?'
Amazingly, some people took time out from their lives to reply!
(Hope I'm not too late - there's an hour to go!)
Ha! I became late to write comment here but on the very day of blog day i had posted a blog.
Doing bloggin is wonderful.
here you can read all about that.
