American racing star Danica Patrick has been linked with a move to Formula 1 next season but could another female racer also be considering joining the grid?

Talented German Touring Car star Susie Stoddart has been spotted in the Albert Park paddock this week.

The Scot has been flown over by her German touring car championship team Mercedes-Benz and is being treated as a special guest of McLaren chairman Ron Dennis.

Stoddart's official role in Melbourne has been to act as a spokeswoman for Mercedes at various business forums.

But after Dennis sorted her out with a three-day pass for the Australian Grand Prix she is getting a taste of life in F1.

Patrick, who races in the IndyCar Series, has already been linked with a move to F1 if the US F1 team join the entry list for 2010.

Only two women have started a Grand Prix, the most successful being Italian Lella Lombardi who took part in12 F1 races.
