Dan le Sac vs Scroobious Pip were great the other night in Cardiff - bouncy brilliance with wise words and a fresh flow. 'The Beat that My Heart Skipped Sounded like THIS!' On Friday I went to Derby to play music inbetween bands at the Stressed Records night. Stressed put out music by the finest Derby bands and have three compilations that showcase some of the best tracks. The gig at the First Floor venue was great - nice to meet everyone there and thanks for all the cd's! You Slut, Dragon Flies Draw Flame, Plans and Apologies and You No Go Die, topped off byt he brilliant Fixit Kid were a joy to hear. Derby rocks, and Stressed captures the energy and enthusiasm for you to sample, so do it!

Radio 1 turns 40 this weekend. A happy birthday to the station, and how brilliant it feels to be part of something so special, and have the pleasure of playing and sharing so much great new music on the shows that I do with everyone who listens to the show. Hip hip!
