Updated 8th July: A summer of sport has begun on the BBC, kicking off with the World Cup in Brazil. That can only mean one thing - you'll need to keep a close eye on EastEnders as it's going to be moving around the schedules quite a bit.

We're here to give you plenty of warning about any time changes here on the website and our Twitter and Facebook pages. For now, here's what we know:

  • Tuesday 8th July: (8pm)
  • Wednesday 9th July: No episode (no change)
  • Thursday 10th July: 7.30pm (no change)
  • Friday 11th July: 8pm (Wales t.b.a.)

could all this be due to "I'm Just Popping In" or "Just Popping oOut" Sharon? Does it matter really just has long has we keep getting our fill...

I agree with some of the comments, Not everyone is interested in Football , and for an event which happens every four years, why can BBC not dedicate another channel for the fans where they can watch, without interruption. A Sport channel would be fab! For those who want to see the sport they favour. The regular TV schedule is disrupted every time. Annoyingly.

I personally prefer Eastenders being on at 7 at although sometimes I think the EE writers have lost the plot, it's better than that rubbush One Show (which is another name for Bluepeter for adults) Here's one I made earlier

I'm disappointed by BBC who take away Eastenders from BBC Entertainment. I have seen the series from 1986 and have made much fuzz with my suppliers in order to get Eastenders on my screen. And then you wipe it away just like that. Can you give us (thousands of Scandinavians) a good reason why you won't continue the best series on television.
Please give us Eastenders back - and hopefully five days a week so that we can be more ajour with the calendar (right now we are a couple of months behind). Oyvind, a Norwegian

I do not understand why Eastenders fans have to always get the short straw when schedules are involved. Why not put the sports events on BBC2 or 3? Or, put Eastenders on BBC2 at the usual times. I doubt many would have serious issue with a change of channel, for the benefit of the regular viewing schedule.

dunvantjeanie - the reason it says new day, new time is because the Thursday episode is being shown on the Wednesday, not because we are getting more episodes

I can't understand why the BBC can't have a sports channel now. They had special channels when the Olympics were on, why not for Football, Tennis, F1 and so on. Come on BBC.
