Although mum Linda and dad Mick have more than happy to see Johnny catch the eye of Queen Vic regular Whitney, they've been none the wiser about his most recent conquest, Albert Square's resident lothario Danny.

However, this may be all about to change as Johnny finally breaks down and admits to his pa that he's been hiding a secret from his parents for years; he's gay.

Happily for Johnny, it looks like Mick is more than prepared to be there for his son - what a man!

Although Mick looks like he's going to suppport his son no matter what, we can't help but wonder what mum Linda will think  - or will Mick keep Johnny's secret safe for a bit longer?

EastEnders broadcasts this scene at 8pm tonight.

This episode was absolutely brilliant! It was poignant and funny and simply beautiful! It should be posted online somewhere accessible (like YouTube), permanently, as a public service, so it can be seen forever by both parents and especially kids. Watching this episode, and that lovely coming (and acceptance) can only help kids who are having a hard time coming out themselves.

BRAVO to everyone involved! This was EastEnders at its best, television at its best, and humanity at its best!

This episode was brilliant. Mick is portrayed as such a good father. I love how understanding he was in this scene. Weather gay or straight everyone needs their parents support. Mick handled it very well. It's really nice to see such a good character in eastenders.

I would like to say that even though I said that gay storylines were boring I didn't say I had anything against them. I'm sorry if anyone got offended by my last comment.

The arrival of the carter family has been excellent and casting Danny Dyer I thought might be a risk but he's brilliant in it. The way he handled his son being gay also gives hope to many young gay men and women in this country. As always Eastenders has handled this latest story line with courage and sensitivity. I can't wait to see how the carter family develop now. I'm really loving the whole carter family and I am sure we will get great stories for everyone of them. Danny Dyer in this role so far has been absolutely brilliant. Eastenders has picked the right person for this role. He is going to win a whole new fan base for his role here. Well done Eastenders, this is gona be brilliant!

I would like to see Zsa Zsa back maybe she could have a reunion with her mum. I'm a bit disappointed with the Carters now because they've only just joined the Square yet they're all up to their ears with drama. Let them settle in, the wedding was funny though. And I am disappointed that Johnny is gay, not because I'm homophobic, but because of Whitney. It, at first, seemed like they really hit it off now he's already strung her along.
