Emotions run high next week as Nick's coffin comes to rest - albeit briefly - in Dot's home.

The residents of Walford rally round to support Dot on the day of Nick's funeral, although we doubt they'll be throwing themselves at the undearly departed's coffin in despair...

Will Dot's recently-revealed grandson Charlie be enough to support her at this terrible time?

You are cordially invited to attend the funeral of Nick Cotton on Thursday 27th March at 7:30pm on BBC One.

I've seen the storyline, I've seen the casket, but I haven't seen Nick. Nick will pop-up - snarling, and, one more thing - Charlie isn't a Cotton but Nick is a lovable scumbag. Yo, what be up with Kat and Alfie let's get them a new story line, it's not 2005.

Last weeks episode with Dot had me in tears. She is such an amazing actress and I just don't understand why she is not nominated for Outstanding Actress on any of these awards shows. I am glad Stacey is back but she is already up for an award???
Hopefully her Grandson will turn out to be a good guy for a change. John Altman was sooooo good and sooo evil but Dot loved him no matter what.

Charlie seems sweet, I understand Dot mourning Nick, but she shouldn't be so cold with Charlie.

I refuse to believe you're killing off an EastEnders great! I know that you are saying that John Altman said he's never returning but I have googled it, there is nothing on that. All he's said was the death was a shock to HIM, he has then been banned from saying anything further about his death meaning he knows more about it and I have seen previous articles saying he is always open for a return? EastEnders was a great part of his career, he said. So please explain why anyone would think this death is real? It opens up a complete new storyline that BETTER BE HAPPENING because I would love the return of Nick. Sharon and Ian are great but we need the original villain too.

Poor Dot, it's time to say goodbye to Nick. June Brown delivers another outstanding performance and reduces the nation to tears! Charlie Cotton Junior is a chip off the old block, and for those who forget what Nick was like, watch his son over the next few weeks and it will jog your memory. Charlie's sole purpose for turning up on Dot's doorstep other than for the funeral of his father is to get money out of Dot. She unfortunately trusts Charlie and will soon regret doing so, John Altman(Nick) decided not to return to the Square some time ago so the scriptwriters decided to write him out permanently, killing his character off. I know some people think that that is a shame but what else could the scriptwriters do? Though I think the impending storyline involving Dot and Charlie will make up for it. We'll see just what a nasty piece of work Charlie Cotton really is!

Will Fatboy come to Dot's rescue, or will Charlie see to it that Fatboy loses his room at Dot's therefore giving him[Charlie] a free reign to bully poor Dot! I really do feel very sorry for Dot she has been through a lot in the last few weeks, and unfortunately has more heartache to come! We'll just have to keep watching to find out what happens, I think Fatboy will expose Charlie for what he really is, a confidence trickster!

I feel sorry for Dot - I really hope they bring Dotty back into it she was such a good character, why don't she visit Dot I know Dot visits her! It would be nice to have Dotty and her mum take care of her.

EE13 I don't think Dot is going to be proud of Charlie as there are a lot of dark secrets that are unveiled about him .I hope that Nick's death is all just a part of a really big twist as I have said before killing Nick Cotton is outrageous and dam right stupid

I feel so sorry for Dot – I really hope that Charlie turns out to be someone she is proud of.
I love the clips between Stacey and Max and how easy it is for him to manipulate those around him so he gets what he wants. (classic)
Would like to see a bit of cheer – really missing Kim Fox.
Also missing the teenagers – what’s happening with Jay and lola???
Maybe Peter should leave them to it and date Abbey – at last we could have a couple who want to achieve things and are nice to each other.
Not liking the fact that Kat is lying about Alice
Top acting from Carol – as usual.
