Jane loves Masood

Strains of Barry White spill out of this blog post as we urge the people of Walford: do not complain if your post is late this week. The consummation of Masood and Jane's passion has been a long time coming - much longer than your overdue council tax bill.

Thing is... we have mixed feelings. We like Masood and Jane, but it's with a heavy heart that we watch Zainab being pulled further under by Yusef. Erk. What do you reckon?

Who should have custody of Amy?

Meanwhile, Roxy's locked in a custody battle with Jack. Is Jack right to think that Roxy is a liability, after Amy's ending up in hospital, or was it an accident that could have befallen anybody? Is Amy any safer in a home where Derek Branning is living? Which parent can give Amy the best home?

We have one picture to show you today for week commencing 5th December. More photo spoilers will follow on Tuesday...

It's the day of Yusef and Zainab's wedding and tensions within the family reach critical levels! Will anyone speak up and tell Zainab they don't think the wedding's a very good idea? I hope so!

Don't forget to come back on Tuesday...

The webcams are back on!

Nickie | 16:10 UK time, Tuesday, 22 November 2011

You may have noticed they've been turned off for secret filming, but the Walford webcams are now back up and running.

They update every couple of minutes, so press 'refresh' to see what's afoot.

On which subject... what is that in George Street? A portal into another universe? A GAP IN WALFORD'S SPACE TIME CONTINUUM? Or a light reflecting off the webcam? I'm opting for one of the former... what about you?

Episode discussion for week starting 21 November

Post categories:

Nickie | 15:25 UK time, Monday, 21 November 2011

It's BRANNING WEEK! Exclamation marks to the power of a million - for EastEnders is on every single day this week! So don't forget and miss Wednesday's episode and then wonder why there are a load of continuity problems in Thursday night's episode...

Max is BACK. With his brother Derek in tow. What'll Tanya make of her ex being back in town? And how will Lauren and Abi feel about seeing their dad for the first time since they kicked him out the door? And what's more, will Rainie and Cora be able to keep using No 27 as a doss house?

What do you make of Derek? I won't lie to you, I'm excited. There's already been lots of conjecture about the new Branning brother on this blog. What do you think? I am drumming my fingernails waiting for Derek and Phil to lock horns for the first time. If they meet and get on quite well and become quite good chums, I will be FURIOUS.

And in other news:

Is Abi off the rails?

Not a good week for our Abs. In the dark about why her mum is acting so strangely, she lashes out and comes home in a police car. And begins to suspect that Jay may not be the stellar boyfriend she thought he was...

How cute is Amy Mitchell?

Discuss all of the above and anything else that you think about this week's episodes in the comments...

The Olympic flame comes to Walford!

Post categories:

Nickie | 00:05 UK time, Tuesday, 15 November 2011

It is with EXTREME EXCITEMENT that we report that the Olympic flame will be passing through Walford LIVE ON 23 July 2012, carried by one Billy Mitchell and cheered on by the residents of Albert Square.

In the episode on Tuesday 15 November, Walford discovers that it will be one of over a thousand communities that will host the hallowed flame. Check out the clip below.

Perry Fenwick aka Billy says: ‘When we first discussed the storyline, my initial thought was that I’ll now have to get fit! While this may be a fictional one-off for Billy Mitchell, it’s a real once in a lifetime opportunity for me and I am thrilled that Walford and Albert Square will be part of this amazing event.’

Meet the new Lucy Beale and... introducing Ray Dixon

Post categories:

Nickie | 00:01 UK time, Tuesday, 15 November 2011

If you were looking forward to a peaceful and relaxing New Year, forget it. Lucy Beale's returning to Walford - and if past form is anything to go by, trouble won't be far behind.

Hetti Bywater will be playing Lucy, who has been living in sleepy Devon for the past year. She'll be back in Walford in January 2012. We do wonder what she will make of her dad Ian's new living arrangements with Mandy?

Newcomer Hetti says “I’m really excited to be joining such an iconic show as EastEnders, especially becoming part of the Beale household. I’m looking forward to find out what’s in store for Lucy and seeing what she’s going to get up to when she returns to Walford”

Meanwhile there's a new face in town, in the form of Ray Dixon, Bianca's ex and Morgan's dad. Whitney contacts him as she thinks that he should contribute more to Morgan's upbringing... not realising that he doesn't even know that he has a son.

Wethinks Whitney will be in for a verbal bashing from Bianca, when Ray arrives in the Square in January, wanting to play a part in his son's life...

Ray will be played by Chucky Venn who you might recognise from his roles in The Bourne Ultimatum and The Dark Knight.

“I have had the pleasure of working on many great productions with fantastic artistes such as Morgan Freeman and I have to say working on EastEnders feels like it is up there with the best of them. EastEnders is etched in British history and it is an honour and a pleasure to be part of it.”

Bring on the New Year!

Coming soon - help us unlock a mystery

Nickie | 14:00 UK time, Monday, 14 November 2011

So this morning a mysterious USB stick in an unmarked envelope dropped onto the doormat of our Walford HQ...

We managed to open a few files - very strange... newspaper clippings, letters... before we could take a proper look, the files were corrupted by an unknown virus.

We have our I.T. folk on the case to try to rescue the files.

The estimated recovery time is unknown, but we will upload files as and when they are recovered. So keep checking back.

What do you think this is all about??
