oohhh exiting week. How much longer will Ronnie keep it a secret??? I just want her to tell alfie and kat. And then go abroad or something.

  • Comment number 2.

This week should be good... i actually feel sory for both kat and ronnie becoz this were thier seond chance of having a baby after both having a baby at a young age and having miscarriages!!!!!

all i know when kat does find out that her baby is alive its goin to be explosive!!!!!!

  • Comment number 3.

I don't know where to put comments for the episode of 3rd January - I wanted to say I thought last night was simply superb - fantastic acting from Jessie Wallace and Samantha Womack. I have found the baby swap storyline sensitively handled and the circumstances plausible enough for something like this occurring, especially given Ronnie's past and character. I do not find it cheap and sensational and wanted to send some comments to re-dress the balance against all the criticism.

Also, Pete Lawson is a fantastic writer, especially for Christian and Syed. He writes really well for both their characters, it's a great shame their fight on the 30th Dec was cut - please don't do this as it takes away from the continuity of the story. Marc Elliott and John Partridge make a wonderful couple and I hope they are well utilised in 2001. Fantastic acting from both of them, and the entire cast!

  • Comment number 4.

I meant of course to say I hope Marc Elliott and John Partridge are well utilised in 2011!!! LOL. oops.

I am deeply shocked that the writers feel that a baby swap storyline is not offensive to all those parents who have lost children in tragic circumstances. To allow such a storyline to be televised and indeed continued for what I hear maybe a year brings the BBC into disrepute and I hope that millions of licence fee payers stop watching Eastenders until the writers are brought to their senses or otherwise replaced. The BBC should realise that licence fee payers have no choice but to pay for a service which now requires sensational storylines rather than quality to keep it in the public eye!

  • Comment number 7.

yh eastenders has to stop this story line it must be really upseting to watch if your baby died in a cot.

  • Comment number 8.

I have watched Eastenders for years - no more

This storyline is both offensive a ridiculous - the BBC should end it now

  • Comment number 9.

I find the current storyline of the baby swapping after a cot death totally disgusting and sick. Its a storyline gone too far. I'm finding it totally offensive

  • Comment number 10.

I feel very strongly about this storyline. I find it very offensive, insensitive and completely unbelievable. How long can you keep up this charade? Not long I hope!

  • Comment number 11.

i cant beleive tanya has changed so much her character is a bit weird now i wonder if she will break up with greg and have a secret affair with MAX!:0

  • Comment number 12.

Looks like a cool week, still dont like the baby stealing storyline though

  • Comment number 13.

gonna be a good week i am 17 and fell pregnant at 15 and i decided to keep it and if someone took it away from me i would explode and i think that eastenders has sunk to its very lowest xxx

  • Comment number 14.

this week looks good as always :D
i think eastenders have done a very good job with this storyline because mothers do feel like doing anything they do something without thinking and ronnie wasnt thinking becasue she was going to give tommy back.

  • Comment number 15.

I am a huge fan of EE and Ronnie is my favourite character. She has had a bad life and must be pretty messed up by the past. People react to grief in different ways, and I think the baby storyline is feasible.
If people look at it closely they will see how she was very distraught and her motherly instincts kicked in when she heard Tommy's cry from the vic. As soon as she realised what she had done she tried to take him back. The events following that stopped this from happening, and in real life people do take babies that are not theirs even when they haven't just lost one.
You must remember THIS IS NOT REAL IT IS A SOAP.
Having storylines like this makes people aware of issues they otherwise wouldn't think about which is a good thing. And it does not take away from the real pain and suffering that parents have experienced when losing a child.

  • Comment number 16.

Why can't the writers ever come up with a happy ending for Ronnie, or Kat? I know it 'wouldn't make such a good soap', but these storylines are just getting depressing. Fit the drama in elsewhere.

  • Comment number 17.

I loved eastenders I have watched it for years I will defintly not be watching it anymore I think the story lines are realy disturbing it is now so depresing to watch the soap, I think the producers should for puting such an horific story line on at any time never mind over Christmas

  • Comment number 18.

i cant belive how sad it was to see ronnie crying after having lost her first baby and now losing her son. for those that think eastenders have gone too far buy ronnie kidnapping kats baby, i think this does happen to people in real life that they steal other babies especially if its happen to them before and some mums can get mentally ill and do things like this. although i was crying watching this as it was a real heartbreaker but its also an eyeopener. its a similar episode to when dawn is about to have her baby and her doctor is hell bent on taking her baby so i dont see why people are shocked.

  • Comment number 19.

  • Comment number 20.

i feel that the storyline with kat and ronnie is a good way to show cot death can happen to anyone, although it is a sad thing to happen. i dont understand why some people say its disguting when eastenders is clearly trying to make viewers aware of it. i hope kat gets the baby back! it doesnt matter if eastenders is real or not things like that do happen!!

  • Comment number 21.

oooh looks like a really good week!!!!
but i hope that ronnie confesses soon, hopefully @ "tommy's" funeral

  • Comment number 22.

I think the story is wrong but in the news it said Kat didnt know her son where last night she did say thats not my baby someone should put the bbc news right !!!!!!

  • Comment number 23.

Looks like a good week, however the relationship between Connor and Carol is really sick :S

  • Comment number 24.

Does anyone know when the storyline is going to finish? I'm not going to bother watching it until it's finished because it makes me feel massively uncomfortable

  • Comment number 25.

it looks like a good week but the kat and ronnie stpryline is going to far. i have read that eastenders writers are hoping to keep it going for at least 10 years, which is sick and disturbing for many viwers. I have found the last few episode unbarale to watch and therefore eastenders will lose viewers.

  • Comment number 26.

I normally enjoy watching Eastenders, but have switched off due to the baby swap story line. The issue of cot death has been lost in a stupid and unrealistic story.
What a depressing way to start the new year!

  • Comment number 27.

I think this story line of the two mothers and there little babies is the worst i have ever seen .I just want the storyline to be over . Can you people at the BBC stop playing with people heads i dont want to see it can sleep since i seen it on Sunday night

  • Comment number 28.

i think the kat and ronnie storyline is sickening i think they should have just stuck with the cot death and thats about it from what ive read in the tv guide magazine ronnie gives kat the baby back in the vic and i think when she gives kat the baby she needs to go to rehab for the amount of loss she has gone through, i have never had a miscarriage but when i had my child social services took my baby off me and put him into care so i never got a chance to see my child so i can understand where ronnie is coming from but i wouldnt want to snatch someone elses child from them.
i think they need to change the storyline quick

  • Comment number 29.

looks interesting, i hope carol and connor split up soon, and ronnie, give the baby back now!!!

  • Comment number 30.

i completely understand that Eastenders is a soap and therefore they need to make the story lines dramatic but however i think that recently they have been spoiling the show a little! to start with Lacey left which was her choice but now this story between Ronnie and Kat is just pure wrong ! why did you have to kill either or the babies ? why for once couldnt you give someone else bad luck an example being the whole Whitney, Carol and Connor story? i love samantha Womack and think its unrealistic that every bad thing possible can happen to her! first she is abused by her father then her sister has a baby with the man she adores then there was the Danielle story which was discusting in itself and now you kill her baby ? your a bit sick dont you think

  • Comment number 31.

When is story going to finish.I can't believe they have come up with this.could they not think of anything else. I hate it it's not fair 2 people that have lost a child through cot dath or lost a child. I don't even watch it now it's a disgrace.

  • Comment number 32.

Please please please stop the baby swap story line!! It is so painful to watch, im sure for every parent out there, I think its sick, I get that you want to show certain issues but enough is enough, I feel like I can not watch anymore and I have been a fan for many many years and now Im ready to tuen off! Please do right!

  • Comment number 33.

eastenders has is now too depressing! the soap is meant to entertain poeple

  • Comment number 34.

I can understand Ronnie's pain.. but it is unfair for Kat.. She needs to know the true. It is going to far...

  • Comment number 35.

Eastenders has tackled the storyline of the baby swap and cot death exceptionally well. I do not understand those that complain when there are obvious hints and spoilers around that tell you the basis of up and coming story lines. If you don't like it - don't watch it! Yet instead people watch it then complain as if they weren't aware of what was going to occur. Eastenders do well to promote story-lines that happen in the real world in a sensitive and informative manner. Well done to all the story-writers, cast and crew for another fantastic story, well acted and well portrayed. I look forward to how the story unravels (personally I think it should remain a secret for years, then "James" requires a blood transfusion or something and neither Ronnie or Jack match - obviously and then the truth comes out)......

  • Comment number 36.

please give Cat and Alfie their baby back, its such an upsetting storyline, but Cat and Alfie are playing their parts sensational.their is a chemistry between them well done Eastenders for bringing them both back, hope they will stay with us they are brilliant funny and so enternaining

  • Comment number 37.

i love watchin eastenders but this baby story line is so so wrong

  • Comment number 38.

the writters are doing a very good job at this sensitive story line they are doing justice and making people aware of cot death and the affects it has on the victims. i must say i really realy hope it doesnt split them up. and also i love that billy has a new partner he needs some love!!

  • Comment number 39.

This storyline is disgusting, who would think of swapping a dead baby with someone elses. I hope it all ends well at least!

  • Comment number 40.

Okay, here is a message for everyone moaning about the Kat/Ronnie baby storyline.

You're saying, "They have taken it too far this time!" "It's really upsetting to watch if your baby has died in a cot!"

Right, so murder, incest, rape etc, IS NOT going too far? That's all okay is it? It's not upsetting to watch a murder storyline if someone close to you has been murdered? It's not upsetting to watch a rape storyline if someone close to you has been raped? It's not upsetting to watch an incest storyline if someone in your family was abused at the hands of someone else in your family?

EE is dealing with hard hitting, real life stories & I personally think they are dealing with it in a very sensitve way & making people aware of things that really go on in this world!

Where do we stop with all this? Are you next going to be starting petitions or moaning about films with sensitive & hard hitting subject matter? If this is the case, then it will not be long before censorship goes wild & you cannot even have your own views!

I hope that Ronnie does admit to what she has done & Alfie & Kat get their baby back & that Ronnie finally gets the help that she really needs after everything that poor woman has been through!

  • Comment number 41.

i think this story line has gone way to far and it is inconciderate and offencive to those who have lost family members to cot death, plus i think that ronnie has had enough upset and the baby should of bin her break, i hope the people in charge do not drag this story on as of a result the reputation of eastenders will fall rapidly.

  • Comment number 42.

I am sicked and outraged by the pathetic storyline in EE regarding the cot death and subsequent swap. It is insensitive and insulting to mothers who have lost their child through cot death. TO suggest a mother or indeed a father would not recognise their own baby, in life or death, is ridculous and farcical. I along with many others have now switched off EE as it seems the writers have really to scrape the bottom of the barrel for a storyline. I do hope these comments are passed on to the writers and the cast as they need to know how people feel about this vile & pathetic storyline.

  • Comment number 43.

I'm rather disgusting with the current storyline regarding the babies. I think that the people that have wrote this need to think about how this is going to affect people that have had babies that have died or been stolen. Its a subject that to some is extremely sensitive and I'm just in utter disbelief to what I've been seeing. I think its unfair and insensitive on people out there who have lost children and are now having to watch something they had to grieve and possibly been given the false hope that one day their child might be found.
I'm dissapointed to say the least.

  • Comment number 44.

If the truth does not come out soon, This storyline is making a mockery of lots of different specialists eg health visitor and hospital staff and possibly the police .Although there is some great acting going on it is very sick. How many neighbours babys wear the same clothes and have the same blanket the day they come home from hospital! I know this is a soap, however it is not very sensitive and very unrealistic.

  • Comment number 45.

What a horrid storyline. Whilst the actors are doing a fantastic job in trying to portray the emotions I'm left wondering what sick people the story writers are. Sometimes I have thought that your storyline's have been a little 'far fetched' but this is something else.
I can only assume that you are writing 'Ronnie' out as there is no getting back from this horrific, disturbing story.
I can't bring myself to watch it until this storyline is over.
Another concern is that the writers / producers have ran out of new ideas - aren't you just repeating the Kat/Zoe storyline?

Sort it out, otherwise Corrie will win the best soap!

  • Comment number 46.

It's soo sad what happened to ronnie's baby but she still shouldn't have swapped it. So sad but it was really sweet when Morgan and Tiffany took Kat home. xx:)

  • Comment number 47.

When is story going to finish. I love Eastenders but this is really putting me off watching it, I know you use things that go on in real life but this really wouldnt happen in real life surely but i can not understand why Ronnie never called an ambulance plus the police took the items from the cot but the lad was in a Moses basket. Please end this soon as ive heard its going to go on till christmas please dont as i think you will be losing a large amount of dedicated viewers thanks for taking your time in reading this and you probably wont print this but i really think that you should let ronnie follow her heart and just own up to it and return Tommy and get some help for her issue's that seems more appropriate :)

  • Comment number 48.

I, as many other people i know are finding the sick story line about Ronnies baby dying and the taking Kats baby utterly devastating! It might not have been so bad if it were resolved within the 2 episopdes, but to drag the story on is dispicable! i have been a fan of Eastenders since the beginning...but this is so upsetting, and cant believe your producers have come up with this! My only hope is that you dont drag it out for long and that Roniie is found out and the baby is returned to Kat and Alfie.

  • Comment number 49.

I think that this baby swap storyline is sick!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is a subject which is far to sensitive to twist into a far fetched story. I am a massive fan of eastenders and find every other storyline gripping but i am finding it very difficult to watch this. The only positive thing i can say is that
kat,Alfie and Ronnie deserve awards for their acting on this. Its just a shame its such a cruel subject.

  • Comment number 50.

It has angered me to watch Eastenders over the Christmas period, stupidly I thought that just for once you may have come up with a happy ending, how wrong was I. Firstly what an insensitive storyline, then it becomes a farce when Kat or Alfie don't recognise their baby. I know that the image of your baby is in your mind from the minute it's born so I don't think this could ever really happen. I am strongly thinking about not watching anymore as are most people I have spoken too. Very disappointed!!!

  • Comment number 51.

I think the story about Kat and Ronnie is making eastenders uncomfortable to watch at the moment, and havnt been able to watch scince it has happened!

  • Comment number 52.

the story line is sick.from a personal point of view from someone that has lost a brother and neice from sids.at the moment i find it very hard viewing and hope that this story line will end rather soon before eastenders does. Sort it out eastenders PLEASE

  • Comment number 53.

i think eastenders have gone too far with this storyline , why cant they just give ronnie a break surely someone cant have that much bad luck in their lives. i agree they may have raised awareness on cot death on the other hand they could of distressed alot of mothers who have just had a baby or have lost a child to cot death. and it as been taken too far with the swop surely when kat sees ronnie with the baby she will know it is hers .

i am no longer going to be a viewer unless kat gets her baby back !!!!

  • Comment number 54.

The recent kat and alfie story you have wrote is disgusting and very distressing. I have always loved the soap but cannot bear to watch it. People who have been through losing a baby never get over it and therefore do not need to be reminded of it. I suggest you change the storyline quick or your viewings will soon drop for good. Really disapointed..

  • Comment number 55.

I love Eastenders and do realise it is only a television programme, but the feelings and emotions that the characters experience and display are real for the viewers. I have 3 children including a 5 month old, and I am finding it difficult to watch the Ronnie and Kat story line. The story of the cot death should be the main issue dealt with and instead, a twist has been added. For the first time, I feel upset enough to comment on a television programme. It is a very raw subject and I fear the swap is going to get swept under the carpet and the viewers expected to watch for ages whilst the BBC decide to jump out from behind the bushes and shout 'Surprise, your baby is still alive!' Parents do lose their babies, and it is very rare that a similar situation would arise. It is turning the very serious issue of a cot death into a twisted fairy story.

  • Comment number 56.

I have never ever done this before but I feel I need to tell you that you have now gone to the lowest you have ever gone ....
I aswell as my family have always watched you, ages ranging from 43 to 12 and we are all discusted with this story-line of kates baby , not only did you choose bad timing but when is there the right time!!..
why not put a bit of happiness into eastenders instead of doom and gloom all the time ???
PLEASE PLEASE consider this as your going to lose alot of viewers.....

  • Comment number 57.

I will no longer watch EE! this story line is very disturbing and sick! How did Kat not recognise her own baby MADNESS!!! I think you should bring this story line to a very quick ending to gain some respect back!!

  • Comment number 58.

hi ive watvhed eastenders 4 yrs i have wo kids myseen a 4 mnth old na 3yr i never been tho losing a bby but i watched it wen the story line started and i thought it was ok showing what mums do go tho but it now just getting out of hand i cnt bring myseen to watch it i love watching eastenders but i dnt think i will untill storey line ends the produces really need a long think n think of that they need to end it it nt fair on kat n ronnie n mothers out there who it has happened to n i dnt agree wiv it lastong a yr to 10 yrs that just bad

  • Comment number 59.

What a sick story line Its bad enough to write about babies dying but to actually swop as well. What are you thinking about I for one have switched off and won't be watching eastenders again until this story is well and truly put to bed. Sick sick sick. I have watched Eastenders since it began and never felt so strong about a story line before.

  • Comment number 60.

I have stopped watching the show due to the current story line. It is very upsetting for people that have lost a child in this way.

  • Comment number 61.

Please just give Kat & Alfie their baby back and let Ronnie grieve properly for her own baby, before it is too late. I and I am sure many other viewers are finding this far too painful to watch! Come on EE don't drag this out anymore!!!!

  • Comment number 62.

i like how there have looked in to cot death's and the way they r running the story i lost my son 5 years ago to cot death . but the one thing that is bad with this storyline is about the swapping of the baby i think the writers r walking on thin ice with the swapping of the baby's it is going to bring a lot of memories up for people.

  • Comment number 63.

With the current Eastenders storyline i find myself unable to watch it. I don't know what the script writers were thinking of,, if they thought that this would increase their viewing numbers then how wrong could they be.. a cot death must be thee most devastating experience in anyone's life!!!! Get real and end this story line ASAP (like right now) and not in future months or later years. I will not be watching this program until it has.

  • Comment number 64.

I would just like to congratulate the bbc for their sensitive handling of the death and baby swop story currently on Eastenders. The story line and the acting is superb! A lot of people (including me) will have watched this with a tear in their eye as they remember babies they have lost. Well done to Kat, Alfie and Ronnie who have managed to make a very sad story line very believable

  • Comment number 65.

The baby storyline in Eastenders is nothing short of senseless sensationalism. Obviously meant to shock and so it has. To all parents, grandparents and siblings who have ever lost a baby, our hearts go out to you at this time. We most definitely will never watch the BBC ever again !! We can live without the BBC. There are plenty of other channels we can watch and will do so. At least Coronation Street deal with matters in a very sensitive manner and also know how to add humour into the storylines to give a little respite. Please make it all a very bad dream, let Ronnie wake up in hospital after having a terrible nightmare. Save us all this heartbreak. We hope that millions of licence fee payers stop watching Eastenders until the writers are brought to their senses or otherwise replaced. Our hearts go out to the actors having to play this tragic storyline too. The timing of this right on Christmas when bereaved families are trying to somehow get on with their lives and have some kind of a happy new year for the sake of their families is senseless. And don't say that we can always turn it off, that's no help,it can be seen in shops on the front of magazines and articles are in newspapers too. You can't get away from this horrendous and tragic storyline.

  • Comment number 66.

I don't know where to put this but I would like to say some words.
I have couple of complains since 1st January episodes. I really love Eastenders but it was a horror for me watching them 3 episodes from new years day. I don't think the BBC should have done that baby storyline for Ronnie since she had a hard time in her life loosing Danielle , Miscarrage in 2009 and the Ronnie and Archie bit and now loosing James her newborn baby, also I don't think that storyline deserved to be for Ronnie and Kat perhaps someone else because Kat and Ronnie both had a hard time in their lives. Thank you

  • Comment number 67.

I understand that Eastenders, as a soap, deals with a vast range of circumstances and topics that other viewers can often relate to. The current story line regarding Kat and Ronnie, whilst it may relate to a select few people, the writers have taken a huge risk that has evidently upset majority of the viewers. In my opinion, I believe that they should not continue with the story due to the sensitivity of the topic. I will still continue watching Eastenders to find out what happens but I hope that the writers see sense and write the story line out in a dignified manor.

  • Comment number 68.

Please Eastender writers don't make this story line go on too long otherwise it will become ridiculous and as said by many other you will lose viewers - Ronnie needs to come to her senses soon for it to be believable and she also needs some good story lines - that character has no luck especially when it come to children!!!!

  • Comment number 69.

I think this story is absolutely disgraceful. Its making me sooooo angry.. Alfie and cat are wicked. The best characters in the whole show.Just feel like not watching it anymore. Can the writers of EE sort it out please. I might have to start watching a certain other soap beginning with C. And I don't really want that.

  • Comment number 70.

i cant wait too see when ronnie tell's kat and alfie

  • Comment number 71.

How the BBC can put this on primetime television i dispair, its supose to be entertaining, seeing people stealing babies is just sick and i really don't know what the writers are trying to do, Eastenders is already depressing enough with never ending misery now this. Please for once can we have at least 1 month of happiness. and please please put an end to Kats misery. its just sick TV!!!!

  • Comment number 72.

This story line is very upsetting for some people. but i do agree it is a story that is making people aware of this and getting viewers who want to see what happens. But eastenders have made a mistake... how has no one noticed that tommy was not in the same clothes when they found him dead? i know that wouldnt be the 1st thing on their minds but surely someone would notice he's not wearing his no1 dad baby grow??!!!

  • Comment number 73.

this has got to be the worse storyline that eastenders has done and hope they end it asap otherwise i hope the viewers turn off and boycot the show

  • Comment number 74.

I personally think that this story line is good as it widens peoples knowledge of such a horrible thing to happen to a child let alone a family. at the end of the day a soap is to show people real life programmes and as upsetting as it is they are showing what legnths some people go to because they are grieving. the actors/actresses in eastenders are doing so well at playing the charcters at such a difficult time. this must be tough for people that have gone through it but at end of the day it could happen to anyone of us and im sure we would go to some legnth to get your child back.

  • Comment number 75.

i have always enjoyed eastenders out of all the soaps but the cot death/baby swap story is to much, dont like it, i find it to distressing and feel its very insensitive, i have been brought to tears, i have a 2 yr old baby and its hurting me to watch this i cannot imagine the pain that some people must be feeling if they have lost a child its must be unbearable, in total i feel the whole story is unacceptable and unsuitable for a 'soap'

why cant there ever be a happy story ie: mom as baby, baby is healthy and they come home to happy, busy house - is this not more realistic?

  • Comment number 76.

I am deeply offended by the recent Kat and Ronnie storyline. The writers need to learn when they are going too far, and turning viewers off. I have always watched Eastenders, but will not be watching it again until this storyline has been brought to a sensible conclusion. I don't pay my license fee to be made to feel the kind of misery and frustration this plot has caused me to feel, and certainly think it despicable that they intend to continue it into the new year. What possible good does it do for the issues involved? It will be a heart-wrenching play on the public's investment in the characters to keep people watching... IT WILL BACKFIRE! PEOPLE WILL NOT KEEP WATHCING.

  • Comment number 77.

I love Eastenders and never miss it. But this baby thing is horrible. My mums bestfriend cant watch it coz she is pregnant and her baby due in about 2 weeks. Now she is really worrid. They really need to sort this storyline out. It does make me want to watch it coz it is very catching but I disagree with the story. xx

  • Comment number 78.

I understand that soaps cover most things that happen in real life and this can be a good thing because it does help people but this story with Ronnie has really quite affected me. It's not so much baby James dying, although this is a terribly upsetting thing to happen, it's the snatching of Kats baby, Tommy and how long they are dragging the story on for. I love wathing Eastenders and every story that they put in the programme is an emotional watch in many ways but the baby snatch, was that really necessary?

  • Comment number 79.

I believe Eastenders has tackled delicate situations over the years, sometimes you get it right, the death of any baby in real life or on a TV show is very upsetting. The script writers of the current plot in Eastenders have possibly lost the plot and it is shameful to think they feel it is right to continue with this story line. I do not believe they have seriously thought about the viewers in this story line. Life in general can be full of sadness THE WRITERS should have had Ronnie grieve the loss of the baby with dignity, rather than the trash they have chosen.

I have watched EE for many years and found that sensitive storylines were usually handled well with brilliant acting along the way. However, I have to agree with the hundreds of viewers/fans who are appalled with the current baby swap storyline. It is absolutely disgusting and any sympathy felt for Ronnie is going to be lost. I am sure however, that the incredible uproar this storyline has caused, has only made EE producers feel happy with themselves for provoking such a reaction. Instead of demonstrating that the fans matter and for once giving a good, happy ending to a horrific storyline, EE continues to mock it's fans with this repulsive story.

EE is making a disgrace of healthcare professionals, parents, friendships and basic human decency. Don't drag this ridiculous story on any longer, we are not watching until it ends, if we even want to watch ever again.

looks like another great week!!! it'e who i feel most sorry for, everyone here says she's the bad one, when shes the one whos lost TWO children. :L

My point is: Wouldn't a mother notice, that it isn't her child?? I find it absolutely pathetic, that a mother wouldn't regocnize her new born baby coz there is a special bond between them! How unrealistic! I don't get it, how stupid do you have to be to write such nonsense?! And as if Kat would be able to calm down AFTER she suddenly realzed that it isn't hers! AS IF she wouldn't go completly hysterical and relieved coz it's not hers!

Another thing: EE ist getting more and more frustrating to watch. People seem to die all the time, young people! Why?? EE isn't fun to watch anymore. ENTERTAINMENT is the keyword, not FRUSTRATION or ANGER! Coz that's what you script writer cause! And that is VERY unnecessary!

I think the current storyline is discusting and pathetic as if no1 would notice the swap of a baby especially the familes of both parents, and as if no1 saw ronnie with the baby, i have watched eastenders for aslong as i can remember but will not continue to watch until kat finally finds out the truth!!! I hope all other viewers feel the same as me n to stop watching.!!

  • Comment number 84.

I can understand story lines such as cot death but the baby swap is shocking!!!!!!!!! the truth needs to come out ASAP or I will not be watching it again

  • Comment number 85.

If anything, this storyline could make people more vigilent & save babies lives!!!!

  • Comment number 86.

Also not an Eastender viewer anymore. Coronation Street all the way

  • Comment number 87.

yh eastenders has to stop this story line it must be really upseting to watch if your baby died ov cot deth i think its sick !!!!!!!!!!

  • Comment number 88.

This is so upsetting..! Ronnie needs to give Kat her baby back, now!
I have been so upset since the swop that I can't put it in words, i've literally cried, alot.! I know it's only a soap but I love EE & always watch it but this baby swop has completely thrown me.
Infact I'm reading the episode before I watch it as I just want it to be over.
It was sad enough to see Lacey go & now Kat & Ronnie, my favourite characters in such a storyline!
I am hoping this will end soon & 'Tommy' will be reunited with Kat, or EE will loose lots of viewers!
Sorry but it's far too sad!!!

I don't know who wrote or thought of this story line, but it is horrible. The cot death theme is distressing enough, but baby swapping is just wicked. This programme is on before 9pm and children watch it, seeing Kat mourning her 'dead' baby is not entertaining at all. Please tell us that Ronnie gets found out sooner rather than later, or I'm afraid you'll find, as many people have written, viewers will turn off.
I'd just like to point out that I KNOW it's a story and not real, but it is still a very upsetting story.

Again - depressing, sad, dark and unrealistic storylines from ‘Eastenders’ talentless and unimaginative scriptwriters who are obsessed with death and the seizing of misery from the jaws of happiness.

Out of touch with the viewing population who would like to see our fair share of comedy, kindness, happiness and fun. Tired of watching the show only to be depressed by this predicable dross – not entertainment, not a tonic to a day at work, not any sort of reflection of real life- just a show that is tired, stale and sad. Eastenders is in desperate need of fresh scriptwriting blood and some imagination. Not watching any more.

Please abandon this kind of storyline. I will not be watching Eastenders until I hear Kat has her baby back. Ronnie must have sympathy and care from people not hatred. she must be made to realise that you can never replace a beautiful baby by snatching another. Baby's are precious, please help her to come to terms with her loss and give baby Tommy back. His real mother needs him. This is so cruel astoryline, it makes me feel sick. I have three gorgeous children. I can't emphasise enough how a mother feels when she gives birth. Please, please, please change this. To start the new year off on such a horrible tale is vile.

I am truly disgusted with the storyline about Kat and Ronnie's baby death and baby swap. It's a grotesque idea for a story that is nothing but offensive and very upsetting to watch. I've never complained about a TV programme in my life until now because I simply couldn't help but protest at such awful and upsetting viewing. WHY, WHY and HOW could you broadcast such insensitive horror?
I've just sat through another episode hoping for justice to Kat and an end to this thoughtless writing and storyline but again, no. The agony goes on. Its ghastly viewing. I've followed and loved Eastenders all my life and I'm shocked and disgusted with the writers with this one.
I really think you should be ashamed of yourselves. Horrible.

    This story line is sick.
And typo in your entry "But who are they about to make an interesting job offer too?" That should be "to", not "too".

Get a grip!! IT'S A SOAP!!!! The story lines in EE may be far fetched sometimes but they bring real life issues to light and make people think about situations that are often very hush hush and nobody talks about. The past few episodes have been upsetting and i have never had to deal with anything like what the story is highlighting, but it has given me an appreciation for cot death etc being something that happens often, but is not talked about!!
People deal with greif in different ways, 'Ronnie' even said that she didn't have time to say goodbye to 'James' thats why she took 'Tommy' so she could say goodbye to her child. She had ever intention of giving him back, but circumstances made her unable to, which leads to dramatic storylines, which is what EE is known for isn't it?!
Seriously, all you people refusing to watch it, get a grip! At least the soap has some life in it, unlike Emmerdale and Corrie!!

  • Comment number 95.

Give Kat her baby back, I know Ronnie has had a bad deal in life but its not right. I just want to see Kat & Alfie happy

  • Comment number 96.

The same people who find the baby swop storyline offensive and unpalatable said the same years ago with eastenders first gay kiss.Eastenders has always dealt with controversial issues.I say well done to the writers.

  • Comment number 97.

I'm also very moved by the storyline concerning the babies, but i think we should learn lessens from what we watch.

I've lost 2 babies, one before birth and the other 3 weeks after birth. Both pregnancies were tough, cos i've been kind of neglecting myself. Not eating wel, too much work etc. After the birth of my child, we were separated, he was at intensive care me at my ward. After a week i was discharged and if it were up to me, i would have been sleeping by his side. But everyone around me was preventing me from doing that, saying i had to rest.A lot of mistakes were made in the hospital and eventually my child dies.It was after the second time i realised i had to follow my insticts and ignore the rest.

The same happend to Kat. She was taken away, told not to wowrry that her son was taken care of... But actually her son was being neglected.
But i hope they get they boy back cos know they've learned their lessen.
I just feel bad Ronny. She has to know the reason why her son died.

I am totally disgusted at the current storyline about the cot death and Ronnie taking Kats baby, surely the writers must realise that this type of storyline is going to panic all new mothers and may even stop them from forming friendships with other women in the same circumstances and even gaining important information from these people. The fact that you want to carry this on for years rather than days is terrible, I know losing a child is a terrible thing but surely knowing what your going through would eventually make you realise you can't put another mother through the same thing. It makes every test and measurement taken from babys when born a lie when police are testing everything including nappies surely they would be recording weight, measurements and bloodtests and would realise the baby was swapped come on BBC, BRING YOUR STORYLINE BACK TO REALITY PLEASE for all unborn children out there!!

  • Comment number 99.

ps Ronnie should confess be4 her son is burried, so she can say her goodbyes well

  • Comment number 100.

please stop this storyline! its awful rediculious viewing and every night its showing more viewers will be switching off. i enjoy watching eastenders, as do my family but we will not continue to watch this storyline as its absurd on so many levels and truly one step too far even in soapland.
