These are exciting times for Doctor Who, not least because Dreamland will soon be exploding onto our screens! As everyone should know by now, it features David Tennant as the Doctor alongside Georgia Moffett and Tim Howar as his latest companions, Cassie Rice and Jimmy Stalkingwolf.

Today we're delighted to share the first clip of Dreamland! It involves the Doctor, Cassie and Jimmy plus the latest alien menace faced by the Time Lord.

If you'd like to see the clip in all its high definition glory then check out BBC HD where it's part of a new preview reel premiering later today.

Newbies to this site can check out the press release for more information on Dreamland, and why not spend a little time watching our exclusive videos introducing the characters and following the making of this dramatic story!

But first up, here's the beautiful, brand new clip! Allons-y!

Is this the finished product? I hope not!

It's not very good - the animation is like something from a cheap video game and the characters are totally wooden - so much so that The Doctor's voice doesn't seem to go with his cartoon character at all.

The people at the BBC who have animated this episode have made David Tennant look ugly as he is Very FIT in real life

i'm not a big fan of this animation - no offence. it seems a bit 'boxy' or 'cubey'. david tennant's voice just doen't suit that face for some strange reason that i can see. i'm sure it will be a good story, but not my type of animation... :(

Sadly, I have to agree. I was thinking the style of Infinite Quest.... but the animation here disappoints me. Looking forward to a great story, though.

Looks fun. I'm hoping it can be shown before Waters of Mars on 15th. It's easy to pick holes in the character animation but the sub-Pixar style looks intended for a younger audience (I preferred to 2D style of Infinite Quest, but it's too early to tell).

I am disappointed with the quality of the animation - it's like sub-par Gerry Anderson without the strings. And what's up with the Doctor's Walnut-Whip hair-do? Could do better, much, much better...

Looks OK, although the animation is terrible. If I were making this story, I would ask the animators of Matt Groening cartoon show Futurama to animate it.

The animation is stiff. The characters movements just look like they've been left to default on the computer and they have no expression to them. From the screenshots, the animation looked more sophisticated than the Infinite Quest but I have to say the animation on the Infinite Quest is better.

Hello! Thanks for all your thoughts and comments about the first clip from Dreamland. To answer a couple of your questions… Dreamland episode 1 will premiere on BBC Red Button and right here on this website from Saturday, 21st November. Hurray! We can't wait. The first ep is a double-length spesh which has all the drama, humour and explosive action of any Doctor Who adventure... Only more so!

The first clip was delivered as we normally deliver our videos but the quality will be higher when full eps go online. This should deal with lip sync and resolution issues which is a vaguely technical way of saying it will look better when it goes out!

Over the next few weeks as we countdown to Dreamland hitting the screen, we're keen to get your views on key highlights from the past few months of sharing our 'making of' journey. We want to hear from you about what were your best reveals and what excited you most. With this clip in particular, we'd love to hear your reactions to the villainous Viperox! Don't forget we've got a lot of younger people following the blog, so please bear them in mind when making your comments. Thanks!

I don't honestly mind the animation. It didn't really distract me in the clip, and the story looks like it will be an absolute cracker. Can't wait.

Of course the clip won't be perfect, it isn't the final product. They are still fixing it up. The syncing won't be perfect either. I can't wait to see the final product... if they show it in Australia...
