World record breaker Mark Beaumont cycled from Anchorage, Alaska to Ushuaia in Southern Argentina. Following the line of the mountain ranges which form the American Cordillera, he also climbed the two highest peaks Mount McKinley and Aconcagua, on foot. Recording the adventure on this blog and for a BBC One series, The Man Who Cycled the Americas.

Congratulations, Mark, on such an incredible achievement. Your regular reports have kept me enthralled over these past months and I look forward to the TV programme later and no doubt to your book(?) when it comes out. You are an inspiration to us all and I wish you all the best on the climb and beyond that for your future, whatever that may be. I have no doubt that you'll be back in the news.
