Boring. Posh bloke cycles somewhere we all know. Yawn Is there any need for explorers in this day and age? Anyone could cycle that distance with the proper support and training. Almost as dull as Sir Ranulph Feines. The money spent on these dull escapades would be better given to poor people in my opinion. Sorry to rain on the parade.

JossieBlair ... aye, sure enough they're all a bit snooty from Edinburgh :-), but the rest of your comments make you sound like an eijit.

JossieBlair - find something more constructive to do with your days. quite a lot of time spent on something you're not interested in.... eijit is exactly the word.

JossieBlair your entitled to your opinion, as for your question do we really need explorers in this day and age well simply yes we do. What Mark is doing can be summed up in one word and that is inspiring.
If Marks travels can get at least one kid in our TV age off his butt and on a bike thats a bonus. Marks & others like him who endure human feats of bravery give hope to people who are struggling with their own personal endeavours how large or small they may be.
Now am off for a ride on ma bike...
Keep inspiring Mark.

Want you to know Mark that you continue to provide inspiration for all of us at HSD. We are enormously proud of you and of what you are doing. In these days of 'beam up and beam down' travel, it is really important for young people to engage properly with the world. You are helping them do that.
