The show follows a BBC TV news crew covering a war in a fictitious African country. Tira says the programmes are just the latest in a long tradition of satire and journalism which began with Evelyn Waugh's novel Scoop, through Channel 4's Drop the Dead Donkey, to the BBC's The Thick of it.
She outlined where the idea came from, how she made the transition from journalist to comedy producer and why it took ten years to get to the small screen.
Tira also fielded any number of questions on who the characters are based on - no one in particular; they're a combination of many friends and colleagues.
