Inside Out Monday February 15
Tonight's talking points:
- The shocking abuse of children at a home near York decades ago that still hasn't led to an apology from the Catholic diocese of Middlesbrough.
- A blind footballing sensation - see next blog
- And Horrible Histories author Terry Deary worries that the Vikings weren't as vile as we thought
All your comments are welcome as ever, especially if they take debate on, so please do share your thoughts on any of the topics we covered.
The links were shot in South Tyneside this week.
We were at the mouth of the Tyne at Little Haven Beach. The red object is the lighthouse on the South Groyne.
The wierd human-like statues by Juan Munoz are on the beach at the end of Harbour Drive.
The Viking statue you will find outside the Viking Shopping Centre in Jarrow. It was the first American-style mall in the UK and opened in 1961. I've managed to find a photo of Viking Statue that's dated from the following year. If you want more horned-hemlet style excitement then of course you could take in the Viking Festival in York all this week.
