It's the Sony Academy Radio Awards tonight...

Chris Evans | 05:19 UK time, Tuesday, 15 May 2012

Always both great and late, sometimes really great and far too very late. Not good on a school night especially if you have a breakfast show to do the next day. We shall see. A lot of my pals are up for various bits and bobs, so I hope to see as many of them on stage as poss during my hosting duties. We start at 6.45. I will tweet any highlights at @achrisevans throughout the night.

With live performances from Mr Barlow, Miss J and Miss Burke the evening should well be one to remember.

Peace and Love

    Morning Chris!
Sounds like you had good time last night! Havent heard if you won anything, but even if not - you are a winner in my books!

    Morning Chris

Well done on the gong - well deserved, and I trust the mantelpiece Chez Evans is heaving under the weight of the collection of accoldades.

Baggy (from previous blog) sorry about your news {hugs x}. And I know what you mean about age/children. I've got to know a local businesswoman through networking and she's the same age as me .... and a grand-mother! That means that biologically, had I gone down the rugrat route, I could be a gran by now ...... yikes!!

Today is a morning of client work, a trip to the barnet fixers to banish the grey and get a cut and then some shopping for ma-in-law, and then back here to prep for a pitch tomorrow morning (double yikes!!!) and then quiz tonight. Thankfully it's my turn to drive to the quiz so there'll be no morning-after grogginess in the morning, just a bundle of nerves.....!

Impromptu meal out was lovely last night - amazing what you get on the 2 for £10 menu.

Have a great Tuesday, and I'll pop in when I need a water-cooler moment!

    Muchos amore,

PS: Why isn't the live streaming of R2 working on the iPlayer? I can still get R1 (bleugh!), R3 (hmmm?) and R4 (Zzzzzzz), Radios 5 and 6 etc. But not R2. WHY?????????????????? :-(

I was about to say it looks like it's going to be a nice day down here on the south coast ,well it was when I opened the bedroom curtains ,by the time and gone round and open ed the rest ,the rain had started ,so here endeth the weather forcast.

Back to work for me today ,and I'm trying to get back to my old routine so I can't hang around in the mornings like I have been doing of late.

“........no doubt that BBC Radio Humberside’s Beryl, 86, and Betty, 90, were the evening’s most popular winners.” Now if only they had got their autograph book filled........then, that would have been a perfect evening for them!!!! LOL!!!

Chris - I am Berni. I play bassoon. I live in Hampshire. I met you at The Hundred Club. Just trying to help that short-term memory problem...... x

Hi Chris: very well done on your Award last night - how you deserve it! xx

    Hi everyone:

How fantastic for Radio 6 Muisc to win last night, eh? - not so long ago they were almost consigned to the bin - what a comeback!

Re: Beryl & Betty - I had never heard of them until this morning - what a fantastic achievement for them. When Chris was reading the papers this morning, he said there is a terrific article about them in the T*l*graph, so I thought I would give that a go - £1.20!!!! Mind you, I did get a free bottle of water with it! Looking forward to reading about those lovely ladies, at lunchtime.

Baggy: sorry to hear about Mr bp's great uncle. It's just awful to lose someone we love.

Cheryl: glad you enjoyed your wee unexpected meal out last night. Our treat last night was having an orange ice lolly while watching 56 Up!

Another busy day ahead, so I must get on with it ... I suppose!

    Happy Tuesday, everyone.

    C xx

Just popped in from next door to say 'Hi'.

Congratulations, Chris, on your well deserved Sony Award. I was listening to you hosting the awards on line, and you sounded genuinely surprised when you found out that you had won. You mentioned that the team also played a large part in it, of course, so congratulations to all involved. Just keep doing what you are doing, as you do it best!

Well done Chris and the team on winning the Sony award

I was getting a bit worried at all the talk of snow as the clouds were gathering over-head but it seems to be brightening up again now - fingers crossed it stays that way!

(((hugs))) to all who need them

Hope your day brings all you want from it!
