Hey Everyone..

Chris Evans | 16:53 UK time, Friday, 16 March 2012

I'm blogging from The One Show where we await the arrival of Cilla !

Her new album is out and she's coming on to talk about it. All one hundred and thirty nine tracks of it. Now that's value - if you like Cilla that is.

Also coming to visit is Paul McGann, he of Withnail And I. One of my top three favourite movies of all time.

Alex is back and so is her voice but our boss Sandy has now lost his. Chelsea fan, he was at the game on Wednesday. "Best night ever !" He croaked. "Had to do my bit."

Bless him.

Peace and Love

Afternoon everyone, sounds like it's going to be a Scouser dominated One Show this evening, hurrah!

I was back in the 'Pool last week staying at my Mum's, amongst other things we went to the brand-ish new Museum of Liverpool and it was great!! I actually went two days running, on Wednesday we did a highlights tour which lasted an hour, then I went back the next day and spent a couple of hours wandering around the galleries. Liverpool has been transformed in the last few years and is really worth a visit.

Hope all is well this grey, dreich day,

Rosie, I really enjoyed looking at your photos on FB of your trip.

    Marjie, enjoy The One Show.

She has so much personality. So have you Chris.

I agree Withnail and I is a cracking film, although I have never been brave enough to play the game that when they have a drink then you have to have the same.

    As for the Camberwell Carrot...

Ps make sure you've got all your hubcaps when you leave the BBC this evening.

  • Comment number 10.

I admit that her voice does grate a bit (carrot-get it?) but she has personality which has given her a long career in showbiz.

Liverpool is now a city of culture!

    Hi All,

Happy Birthday MC, glad you have had a good day.

I've just cleaned Ash's saddle and bridle, dinner's on and I'm enjoying a lovely Morgan's Spiced and diet coke whilst waiting for D to get home from work.

Sunday is going to be a busy day for us, in the morning, after I've ridden, we are going to where D's Mum's ashes are scattered to lay some dafodills from our garden, then my own Mum, Dad, Brother and his OH are coming for lunch (James Martin's Quiche Lorraine made with our own eggs), unfortunately they will need to be chucked out about 6pm as we are going into Glasgow to see The Four Tops and The Temptations, really looking forward to that, so Saturday will probably be spent shopping and doing housework.

Hope you all have a good weekend.

I'm sorry but I can't remember who's friend's little one is having an operation at such a young age, and as we don't have broadband it would take too long to look back so positive thoughts being sent their way!! (and to anyone else who might need them).

  • Comment number 15.

    Evening shift, clocking in!

I'll leave the late-night number crunching to those who enjoy it though! :-)

G, I hope your weekend goes well. The concert sounds like it should be brilliant

Am very pleased it's friday - even if I am on taxi duty!

  • Comment number 16.

    Sorry MBD.

I did wonder why Camberwell came into the conversation. Will look on you tube.

Actually I have a confession to make. I'm going to watch The One Show on the iplayer later as I can't miss Emmerdale or Coronation Street at the moment. Sad I know but there it is!.

On my best behaviour quietly watching TV from 7 to 9pm.

May be back later but promise to behave.

    Evening each

    Watching the One Show Chris.

Loved what you did with her record this morning. Was driving over the bridge thinking 'Oh dear, something wrong with it', then realised what you did. Made me laugh.

Did anyone hear wee Nate on Simon's show? What a sweetie, made me laugh almost as much as George with his Kissssssaaaaa.

Haven't caught up yet, back in a bit. xxxx

Oh, and ps - Sezza, all those folk were out again tonight, getting in my road. x

  • Comment number 19.

Annie, have they not learned yet!!!!

  • Comment number 20.

Sezza, 4 lanes trying to get into 2 to get over that bloomin' bridge and, of course, I was in the slowest lane moaning and whining to myself.

  • Comment number 21.

For goodness sake, couldn't they just buy a screw top??

I now know where the cracked nuts on the bridge have come from.

    Still haven't caught up. xxx

  • Comment number 22.

You wouldn't lose that corkscrew in the back of the kitchen drawer though, would you!

  • Comment number 23.

It was a tad large Sezza.

    Right, merlot poured into glass.

  • Comment number 24.

I do realise Cilla is a national treasure but, like Maddy, I find her voice a bit sharp. And vinyl coming back - did it ever go away? Man in the cupboard has thoosands of albums and loves his vinyl. Loves the artwork too - brother did the artwork for Vangelis and Rondo Venicia and his friend did Frankie Goes to Hollywood - I have 2 of her prints on my wall.

    That's my claim to fame.

Gail, have a good time on Sunday.

  • Comment number 25.

That should have been Rono Veniciano

  • Comment number 26.

And that should have been 'Rondo'. I despair of myself sometimes.

  • Comment number 27.

Saw the Camberwell carrot on you tube MBD. I must have dozed off or lost my concentration during that scene. Good thing too, I hate anything to do with drugs. During my Cavern days many moons ago my dear old dad was always saying 'she's going to get into drugs going to those places'. He didn't realise that all you could buy at the Cavern was coffee or Pepsi.

Just had a lovely evening with Mr CSN.

Sorry if I have upset anyone by my number chasing. Sometimes in this virtual world people are prone to slate each other causing upset, I have done it myself and now wish I hadn't (doesn't mean I will not do it again). For example Chrissie got it in the neck today, but she is a lovely person and a very special friend to me in the real world. Maybe we should all take a step back and think before we post!

Chrisse, hope you have had a relaxing evening. xx

    Hi everyone:

Another early start for me - have been up for an hour-and-a-half and cleaning the flat - friends arriving tonight before we head off for "the 21st birthday dinner" for MsS - yes, apparently her birthday celebrations continue!

CG: really glad to see that Henry is already one of the family - just lovely. Sorry to hear about the sciatica - you sound very brave. MrS had this several years ago - I could have cried for him, he was in so much pain. xx

Dozer: your weekend sounds just terrific - have a lovely time. xx And, thank you for reminding me of what is REALLY important .... I looked back on the blog, and see that:

eb: you mentioned the wee baby that is only a tender 6 weeks old and needs our positive thoughts - I am so sorry I missed this. xx I hope that wee soul gets well soon. xx

Jollygit: just lovely to see you - I really loved those days on Moose's blog - started a lot of terrific friendships, and connected us all to Mr Evans. I know I have said this many times, but hey, I am saying it again - Moose started the blog meets and for that, he must be applauded. xx

So, so much I could say about what has happened recently on the blog - this just happens from time to time. CSN: thank you, you know that I am very upset over what has been happening in the last couple of days. However, my real sadness is that our lovely Mary has been completely misunderstood. Her post regarding Chris was so true - at times we expect just too much from him, but I could talk about for a month on here, and still not be able to say how much I admire that man.

Lastly, I came home last night and said to MrS - I am just becoming obsessed with this song that I hear on Chris's show - "Somebody I Used to Know" - he said: oh, yeah, it's great - it's No.1 in the chart you know. Good grief, I had no idea I am living with the new Jimmy Saville!

    Have a great weekend, everyone.

    C xx

    Morning all

Homework, housework and laundry for me today! If I wriggle round and get lots done today, I can give myself tomorrow off!

CSN x x I agree - think before you post maybe should be all our motto's

Personally, the numbers thing doesn't really bother me - as has been said, there's always a way to skip over it!

It does bother me when people are not kind to others. Just because we are writing not talking doesn't mean we can't be nice

    Right, best look busy!

  • Comment number 35.

    Good morning all,

Crissie have a lovely time tonight with your lovely daughter and friends,it's nice to carry on the celebrations ,will there be cake?? And another occasion to place into that memory box eh!

Actually I thought Mary was spot on the other day with her comments, Chris really doesn't have to do diggerly squat for us, but he faithfully keeps us in his loop. I'm glad for one that he does , I think we tend to take him a bit for granted and you should never ever do that.
With all that he does outside of his Breakfast Time show such as CIN and Wine and Dine and Goodwood ,and now hes organising (for us) the ordinary people a Car Fest how many others would do that ...and don't forget he's got to fit his personal and family time into all of that somewhere.

I don't post as often as I'd like or used to ,but I do like to think that I contribute something for people to read or not read ,Like cheryl said there is always the scroll down option.

I have forged some true friendships through Chris and will always be grateful to him for that ,but I also know that it could all end at the flick of a switch.

    Raining here in Wirral today.

Re my flippant reply to MBD who I do find amusing and I hardly think that Chris with his huge popularity and also sense of humour would be offended (post # 8).

When I said 'Well said MBD' I was not including his comment to Chrissie. Chrissie is one of my favourite bloggers who always has a kind word for everyone including me. The last thing I would want to do would be to upset her.

Also my comments regarding there being nothing interesting after 9pm did not include our lovely Bids who often posts a lovely comment later in the evening.

Ebb, I missed your post about the wee baby (thanks Chrissie). Hope all is going well.

Chrissie, enjoy the birthday dinner tonight

Been to see wee granddaughter and even wee-er grandson. Lots of lovely cuddles and dribbles from the 7month old and a load of 'attitude' from the 2yr old.

Did anyone give me a passing thought when they heard Bobby say '15min wait to get on to the Bridge'? Actually Bobby it was almost half-an-hour! And I have to do it all again tomorrow to see stepdaughter and new baby. Bums.

    Evening all,

    Well what a day !
It started off on a positive note , with plenty of sunshine and "blue" sky.
So I washed my car , polished it , and ....... then it rained ..... not only all over my car, but the washing and my freshly cleaned windows too.
I offered to cook tea tonight, and Mr Mc seemed to go into high anxiety mode, checking his will and life insurance. I found some Totelloni in the freezer , one packet had a use by the 17th June date stamp, and the other had a use by 5th November . I was confused by the fact that it didnt say which year, so i binned the June packet and used the November one. Anyway, after washing up i started my ironing, and shouted through to the living room to Mr MC , was tea alright? To which he replied, "yes, it was ok for a change ". Now do i take that to mean that it was ok for a change change, or, Ok as in total shock it was edible change ?
Whilst trying to work out his hidden message, i managed to wundaweb my work trousers to the ironing board .

Right, am off to find a glass of wine and contemplate.

    hope everyone is ok.

Bye for now , MC xxx living life in the I'm not a Masterchef contestant lane :-)

  • Comment number 44.

Glad I wasn't at yours for tea MC.

  • Comment number 45.

Death by Tortelloni doesn't have the same appeal as Death by chocolate does it !

Hope your hand is getting better , and I wanted to say congrats on your lovely new grandchild too xxxx

Just been watching Take me Out, and feeling old and frumpy . I can remember wanting to go out at 9pm on Saturday night, now i just want my duvet and Pj's.

Hey ho , I may make my annual trip to the cinema tomorrow. I would really like to see this Marigold Hotel film, but my utter dislike of sitting in an auditorium with people muching and scrunching is getting the better of me. I am such a fuss pot about the cinema and theatre and can only just accept the fact that people can breathe in there, anything beyond that just totally tests my patience.

MC xxxxx living life in the Victor Meldrew lane :-(

  • Comment number 46.

Of course , no one would much in the cinema, I do believe i meant munching .
My last visit was to see the Kings Speech, and the family of three that sat and gorged and chatted through the entire film, directly in front of me, were lucky to escape with their lives.

  • Comment number 47.

MC, I feel your pain - I hate munching people too. The Marigold Hotel film is definitely worth going to see.

The thumb nail is turning a very interesting shade of bluey green but it hasn't dropped off yet.

I'm watching Gypsy Weddings - I'm obsessed and can't believe people actually live like that.

  • Comment number 48.

Annie, we are watching that too , it's like car crash tv . They all seem to look the same , but not in a good way.

  • Comment number 49.

MC, how awful are those men??

  • Comment number 50.

Hi Sezza,MC and Annie, and anyone else lurking.

Annie, I immediately thought of you today when the dreaded road works on the bridge were mentioned!

MC, just had a lol tena moment at the thought of you wundawebbing your trousers to the ironing board. I just hope you weren't in them at the time!

I am hooked on BFGW too, my jaw is permanently on the floor at some of the dresses, and the antics of the little ones 'posing' for the camera. I think it's sad that they don't see it as wrong. Each to their own I guess.

Nowt much on the box now though, think I might get my book out for a few more chapters.

    See you later,

    Ta ta Lin x

  • Comment number 51.

MC, Oh dear! What a day!!

Anoth BFGW adict here. I watched the last one with boy2 and he couldn't believe how they live!

He's out at a party tonight! I'm quite happy sat here in my PJs with a glass of wine! I've even got Mr Sezza to do the pick up so can relax now

  • Comment number 52.

    Evening Lin

Thank you for that thought. Was sitting in the queue and wondering if anyone was thining about me!!

As for BFGW, I truly can't believe people live like that - and yes, you're right about the little girls 'posing'.

  • Comment number 53.

    Morning all!
Wowser, busy busy week for me so no hope of catching up on everything, do know that the lovely MC had a burfday which I missed on comentating. Happy Belated one! LOL at your dinner story :-)

Big Boss Ladys right hand lady from US kept me out of mischief all week, in a good way though, nice lady with a good sense of humour so the intense meetings had a lighter side at times, but at times she was almost a caricature (sp) of a mid west american - lots of "awesomes" and we drove past "war-wick" - "do they have a caaaaastle there"

Anyway on account of the busyness of the week, today I'm mostly doing nothing! A bit of light washing duties and then bung a roast in. got the sequel to Phantom of the Opera, Love never dies on CD to watch and may partake in a penguin later.

Hope that you are all well and happy in your worlds, hugs to them what needs em
    Happy Sunday everyone

    Happy Sunday Everyone!

Thanks for all the good wishes for my friends little girl - she's had surgery and is doing well, hopefully will start to keep her milk down and put on some weight.

I was up early with the tiddler this morning, so caught the end for the F1 on the radio (not willing to pay Murdoch for anything!!) which wasn't quite the same, but a good result, and I'll watch the highlights later!

MC - the image of you wundawebbing your trousers made me giggle last night - It's tricky stuff!

Not much planned for today - a friend is coming round to have a look at some clothes I found in the garage - you know the bag of things that you have intentions of getting into again? Well that is never going to happen so it's time to get rid!!
I also have to go through the freezer and work out what to do with what's left - it has to be eaten by next sunday! Oh and packing!!

    Have a good day all!

  • Comment number 55.

    Morning all,

Another beautiful sunny day up here. I spent most of yesterday spring cleaning my flat - did pop out a couple for times to enjoy the sunshine. Went a bit made throwing almost everything in the washing machine not such a good idea when I see the pile of ironing I have! So guess what I will be doing today? Before that I will be having a walk around our local country park and then hope to be celebrating after a certain footy game today ;o)

Belated Happy St. Patrick's day to all our Irish bloggers.

Happy Mother's day to all our Mum's on the blog and thoughts to those who don't have our Mum's to spoil today.

Annie - I think of you everytime I hear about the bridge. All these roadworks will be a nightmare. Loved the cards on FB - your grandaughter is gorgeous xx

Debs - good to see you, enjoy your day of nothingness xx

Scoobs - hope you enjoyed your F1 xx

EB - my thoughts and prayers are with the wee baby xx

MC - I would really like to see the Marigold Hotel too but I've got the same thoughts as you about going to the cinema.

I haven't watched BFGW but work colleagues do and they too mention how the little ones pose!

Listening to Steve Wright - love the 84 year old who was just on - "it's never too old to love!"

    Bids - thank you xx

Chrissie - thank you xx I looking forward to hearing about MsS's continuing birthday celebrations - I am sure you all had a wonderful evening.

When I posted the other day my issue wasn't with the number game, I know there is a lot of silliness on the blog, there always has been and always will be. I was upset because of the complaints and criticism directed at Chris and I know I shouldn't let it get to me but I can't help it because I think the world of him - he gives so much to us as bloggers and listeners and I don't think he deserves what he sometimes gets in return. There are some days when I don't feel I can face the world but somehow Chris manages to revive me and for that I will always be grateful xx

    Have a lovely Sunday everyone!

    Mary xx

  • Comment number 56.

Hi eb that's good news about the little girl xx

MC forgot to mention the wundaweb - I've been putting off altering some trousers - might give the wundaweb a go - wish me luck ;o)

    Hi everyone:

Just listening to Steve - I am starting to think Bingo has a point - Steve Wright is a tremendous broadcaster - I am just getting in to him! And what's not to love about a song which has an incredible line like "yippee i, yippee i, ey" (The Look of Love) - brilliant stuff!

Bids, CSN and Annie: thank you so much - we had such a special evening last night - could talk about it for ever. One of the guests of honour is a lady who was our daughter's childminder. I remember so clearly the day I met her, and decided that, yes, this would be the woman who would look after our precious wee baby while I had to go to work to get money to help pay the bills. MsS had such a wonderful evening - it was magical and, yes, Bids - it goes in to the memory box. btw: there was cake - 21 candles creates a real heat!

Sezza: yes, it's nice to be nice - and I include myself in this. I absolutely hate it when I become frustrated and say something I normally would not say. xx

Bids: your post #35 - so powerful - one of the best things I have read on the blog - ever. xx I think your contribution to the blog is fabulous.

Maddy: I totally understand. xx I always think the written word can be so easily misconstrued. xx

Annie: I always, always think of you when the bridge is mentioned on "Travel"!! xx

MC: honestly, you could give John Bishop a run for his money - you are quite hilarious! You bring something to the blog that is just brilliant. xx Re: going to the cinema - now, this can be horrific, I know. However, Marigold is well worth seeing - I loved it, and I'm still thinking about it. My sister and I (MrS does not "do" the cinema) think we have cracked it - we sit at the very back of the cinema - for some reason, with the climb, and all that, the people who eat nachos etc, don't make that long journey up the stairs!

Debs: lovely to see you - have a great day, you have had a very busy week. xx

MrS has just suggested a drive "down the coast" for today, so that is what awaits - a lovely day here. I hope everyone has a lovely Sunday.

Happy Mothering Sunday to all you mums out there xx We went to see my own lovely mum and dad yesterday and took them out for lunch. We also visited my aunt in hospital and then stopped off at my uncle's, so all in all it was a busy and emotional day, but a very happy one too.

Hope you mums get a day off today and are spoiled rotten, because you deserve it xx

Chrissie - so pleased that you had a lovely evening xx

MC - I thoroughly recommend The Marigold Hotel film .... it really lifts your spirits. Me and 'im indoors went and saw it last Saturday and we picked the 12.20 screening because we thought it might be the quietest time - there were no more than 15 of us in the whole cinema and at 50 and 51 we were the youngest there, so not much noise at all! Chrissie's quite right though - go for the seats right at the back ............. if there is any noise you can always flick your popcorn at them!!!!

Right - we've just had bacon sandwiches and it's now time for a walk along the prom, prom, prom and then back to the homework grindstone - I've got to write a 2000-word essay so best wake those leetle grey cells up!!

    Have a good day everyone.

    Be right back!

eb: thank goodness the baby is on the mend. What a worry, but hopefully things have turned around. xx And, yes, I have a huge bag with those clothes, too!

Mary: have a lovely day - enjoy your walk. And, yes, how we wish our wonderful Mums were still with us. They know we love them, and of course they are still with us, really.

Jillygoat: I am so glad to hear Moose is still blogging. I loved being part of that blog - he was a real Chris Evans trailblazer !

Mary: last night, the talk turned to Radio 2 - one of the guys there said that he drives a 300 mile round-trip every day (Glasgow to Aberdeen, and back!) and that he could not possibly do it without Chris. I know just what you mean - I get up in some mornings and think: I just don't know how I am going to get through today - and then I hear Chris for two minutes, and the world is a much better place. xx

But, tomorrow we have Mr Madeley - we'll survive, but only just, perhaps!

Going now, have a lovely day, all.

    C xx

Happy St Patrick's Day to all Irish folk.

I'm having a good day, must remember to record the Australian Grand Prix for Bingo. He'll be there at the Malaysian one next week as he's in the vicinity.

The flowers they left for me are still fresh. I'm afraid I ate all the chocolates but replaced them and now have half a box left for today.

PS I must ask Bingo how on earth he manages to post long ones!

Chrissie - Moose doesn't post any more, but some of us have drifted by since he stopped .... I think I saw our Keith and Analog over there last Jan/Feb but nothing from anyone since. I wonder what Moose is up to these days ...

Anyway, we've just been for our stroll along the seafront and it was beautiful - a bit chilly but lovely in the sunshine. We spent about £2million on some property along the seafront, came home to check the old lottery, and are now resigned to staying put for at least another week! Hey ho *sigh*

    Afternoon each from sunny Fife.

Lovely to see you all, hope you're having a lovely Sunday.

Well, the 'cracked nuts' must be fixed as I got over the bridge nae bother this morning. Had lunch with youngest and his family and got a Mothers Day card with a gorilla on the front!! Just as well I have a sense of humour - apparently the 6yr old chose it.

Visited the stepdaughter and her beautiful little baby with daughter-in-law and she's gorgeous (the baby, not the daughter-in-law, although she's quite pretty too).

The motorway signs said 'prepare your car for winter' - stupid people, don't they know it's Spring?

    Afternoon all

good luck to anyone who has to wake up the little grey cells this afternoon - mine are definately missing in action

Lunch at a lovely pub with my lovely boys - who could ask for more!

I was even a dutiful daughter and too simnel muffins to my Mum this morning!

Annie, I love the sound of your gorilla card - hooray for the six year old

There was a little boy at the table next to us - a big group of about 20 - and he was stood on his mum's lap singing to them all. He could be in for a big future - it is where Matt Cardle started!

    Hope you're all having a good day x x

  • Comment number 66.

Sezza, my gorilla card is second only to the one the daughter gave me a few years ago - a raised picture on the front of the card which can only be described as a wicked witch - you know, where the nose (with a pimple on the end) meets the chin. She actually dared to give the same card to her mother-in-law. She thought it was hilarious (it was, actually).

Sounds like your boys were much nicer than mine!!

    Evening All,

Happy Mother's Day to all you Lovely Blogging Mum's xx I hope you've had lovely days and been spoilt rotten xx

My Mum and Dad have been for lunch and we've had a nice afternoon together. Yesterday I made my Mum some Shaun the Sheep cup cakes which she thought were hilarious. I also gave her a picture of the back end of two elephants and wrote on it "like mother like daughter" made me chuckle.

I am now in my PJs ready for a bit of TV.

Debs, Nice to read you and I hope you've had a nice relaxing day sounds like you deserve it xx

Big hugs to everyone else, I've just read it but can't remember anything! Doh :)

Just donning the ranty pants! There is a bloke in the office next to me who spends most of the day on the phone, speaking Indian! It's doing my head in! I still haven't forgiven him for talking all the way through the three minutes silence on the 11th of the 11th! These walls are very thin and I don't expect he realises just how annoying it is.....rant over!

Time to put a brew on.

  • Comment number 82.

    Thanks Ali. I'm trying ....

Really not sure why I feel down in the dumps, I've absolutely no reason to but sometimes "the blackness" just takes over for no apparent reason. I usually bake when I feel like this, so perhaps I need to have a forage through my Marian Keyes or GBBO cookbooks and come up with something worthy!

    Ranty pants if I may..

Yesterday it was Mothering Sunday yes/no? If you took a look at the TV listings you wouldnt think so.
    War of the Worlds
    the simpsons movie
    the tigger movie
    stuart little
    brave warrior
    hitch hikers guide
to name a few of the films on offer but the award for best film for Mothering Sunday goes to .....

    I mean...what were they thinking?

I realise that some of these films are good, but on a day for the girls, mothers or not, lets have something we can sit and watch with a box of chocolates.

    ok pants off now
we sat down and watched "how to lose friends and alienate people" for no other reason than I could be bothered to flick through the channels or stick a dvd on.. it was quite funny in parts..then at the end husband hadnt finished his glass of wine so I started flicking..like you do, and came across Terry Wogan's Ireland.
(I am getting to my point I promise)

I am about to step out of the closet...

I miss TW in the mornings..I love Chris and his programme he makes me feel awake, but I watched TW and just missed his voice..(maybe it was because i had had half a bottle of fizzy stuff)
I know he is on on a sunday but I dont remember to turn the radio on at the weekend unless I am in the car, which isnt often on a sunday.
    So there you have it
I am still a TOG at heart
And a CYG ( chris' young gal )
    and a mayo whatsit.

maybe it was the impending DOOM of RM. if I had a gun I would shoot the radio when he is on.
going back to sit on the naughty step.

    Hi everyone:

I was going to come on the morning and say that I feel really down in the dumps today - and I see Cheryl is in the same boat! It's horrible, isn't it?

I think with all the excitement over the last couple of weeks, planning everything for the 21st celebrations, and now it's all over ... I just feel really deflated! Still, it will pass, I know.

The main thing is that MsS had a wonderful time, as did our guests. I can't imagine how deflated one must feel if you've organised something really big, like a wedding, and then everything just has to get back to normal!

Cheryl: hang in there, hope your day will improve.

Sezza, Annie and Debs: hope you ladies feel better soon.

    AliB: hiya!

djeli: re: Terry. I listened to him yesterday for the first time in ages, and it was a brilliant programme. He and Deadly are just a scream together - if you have the opportunity at some point during this week, have a listen - it was such good fun and great radio. I do love Terry and was really upset when he left the Breakfast Show, but with Chris now at the helm, I just couldn't imagine mornings without him!

Think I will go for a wee walk at lunchtime and see if I can chase these blues away!

    C xx

Thanks Chrissie - same to you, and you may be right about anti-climaxes and deflation. We had the excitement of the holiday, getting the puppy and stuff and now it's crashing back to reality and a growing sense of fear of the unknown with regards to my business.

It sounds like MsS had a wonderful 21st, thanks to having such a great family around her. You can't beat a close-knit family, and I hope you too perk up soon {hugs} x x x

Ali - I've got a flying visit Wednesday morning from one of my Suffolk friends and her hubby - they're literally "dropping by" en route to Stafford to meet Randall, so I'll bake something tomorrow afternoon in readiness for their arrival.

    Deevs, trying hard

Don't get me wrong I love Chris in the mornings.
I should really remember to turn the radio on on a sunday too

  • Comment number 89.

    Hello Everyone.

Maybe those who are down in the dumps today, it's because Chris wasn't around to lift us up. I used to get times when I was just so fed up with everything but the strange thing is that since I took ill in 2006 I feel much more stable and calm, nothing worries me and I appreciate the small things in life that I was too busy to notice before. We humans are very strange creatures.

djeli-I agree about nothing suitable for mums on the telly, there was only Who Wants To Be A Millionaire Mother's Day. Actually I've gone and done something which I normally have a rant over. I took part in the viewers question to try to win half the cash won in the show. I hate those viewers competitions where they offend our intelligence with such obviously simple questions, do they think we are all stupid or daft enough not to know it's a money making thing. Who would be so stupid as to put up their phone bill, well not me, I did it online which is free.

Anyway fingers crossed for a holiday in Dubai plus £26,000.

    Morning all

Maddy hope you get lucky the luck of the irish was definately at our pub on Saturday night we had to pop into the pub yesterday morning to drop something off and the bar maid Louise was checking her lottery ticket the conversation went like this:-

"How much do you get for 5 numbers and the bonus ball Phil"
"Thousands love possibly hundreds of thousands"
"can you check this ticket for me" as she passes it with a visable tremble of her hand.
"Sarah check the lottery website on your phone while I check this"
"Yep Louise you have got 5 numbers and the bonus ball" says Phil
"Crikey I am so skint at the moment and I need a new sofa, I can have a holiday too there are 10 of us in the syndicate" says Louise with the widest grin on her face.
"Louise the syndicate has won 110,863 pounds" says I.

I think the reply was "OMG"....

Can honestly say that I was over the moon for them all, that money will be like winning millions to them but not really enough for them to go too over the top and lose all common sense but could give them a bit of happiness.

Hubby on the other hand spent most of the day shaking his head going "£110,000" in disbelief, but as I told him its getting closer love its getting closer.....

Anyway unfortunately for us not being in that syndicate we are both back at work oh well hey ho!

MC I can sympathise with the tasering a colleague on a Monday I nearly linched on in the office on Friday afternoon so I can completely empathise with you.

Deevs - chin up girlie it will pass.

Chrissie glad your daughter had a lovely 21st and you enjoyed it all.

Back to the grindstone then oh glad it was only one day of RM could fill my teeth grinding when I driving to work this month and that was just listening for 15 minutes, but heard Ken mention that he would be back soon for 2 weeks arrrggggggghhhhh!

    Afternoon Debs,

Hugs right back at you toooooo .
The sun is making an appearance here, it was actually a bit icy this am.
I'm starting my healthy eating campaign today. I'm down to my last two Easter eggs at home, and Mr Mc took the remnants of the Christmas Quality Street to work today.
I have two apples and two bananas sat staring at me .......... for fruit on my desk, it must be like being on death row. And as for the Christmas cactus that sits on the shelf behind me , blimey ............ thats had more reprieves from the bin than you would ever know. Its all curled up and brown, but becasue someone brought it in way back in 1958 .................... we have to keep it . I have offered to buy a replacement, that actually flowers and would ,make the place look normal ...............
Anyway, I'm calming down a bit now, can you tell :-))

Back on my perch , have a nice afternoon everyone.

Well, been for a walk - it certainly has helped, I just love walking in the rain!

Cheryl: aww, thank you. xx And yes, I know, reality hits us hard sometimes. Just you dig in there, you WILL succeed! xx

Maddy: certainly it did not help this morning when there was no Chris to lift my spirits. I know what you mean, though, about appreicating life. After I had a near-death experience just three weeks after my daughter was born, that taught me just how precious life is. I am seldom "down" but today was one of those days. I hope you win that competition! xx

MC: see what I mean about being as funny as John Bishop?! A Taser? - love that idea - don't ever, under any circumstances, let me have taser gun!

Debs: yes, our American cousins can, just ever so slightly, be a bit OTT. Love them, of course - I have dozens of American relatives, but, they can slightly overdo the enthusiasm.

CB: wow, if I needed a story to make me smile today, this is it! Just wonderful - how lovely for the lot of them. I can only sincerely say ... I wish I had had that winning ticket!

Feeling slightly better - may even tackle some filing!

Hi everyone and Christoff Lambie Pie! Sorry to hear that some of you are down in the dumps. Here are some reasons to be cheerful:

    1. The clocks go forward on Saturday, so we'll have lovely light evenings. Good for us dog walkers, Deevs (I have a new addition to the family as well).
    2. It won't be long until the barbecues are out and the men of this nation are burning sausages whilst drinking lager and wearing slightly risqué pinnies.
    3. It's almost Easter! The time of renewal, hope for the future and four days off work. And chocolate.
    4. This summer, this country is going to be THE place to be. The Jubilee, the Olympics, England winning Euro 2012 (two out of those three are true).
    5. Baby Evans! I remember how this blog went mental when Noah was born. All the blog aunties and uncles will be out in force again come May.

    Lots of love,

    Barmy xxx

That's wonderful news for Louise and the syndicate. When the lottery began in the first couple of weeks the supermarket where I did my shopping and then crossed the road to the newsagents to buy my ticket. They won I think it was about £38,000 each. That made me think it was very possible to win but my optimism faded as the weeks went on.

Just spent the last half an hour trying to open my new security protected mascara. I know it costs a fortune these days and it's nice that they stop people from sampling it in the shop until there's none left but this is ridiculous. Thank goodness I was getting it ready for when it's needed otherwise I would have been late.
