We are Dublin and Belfast bound as I speak for a couple of days of book signings and interviews - still on the radio tonight though via the generosity of RTE, thanks guys.
Our two day trip will also include an appearance later this evening on the legend of all entertainment shows, a programme by the name of The Late Late Show.
The Late Late Show in Ireland is the longest running, longest-running entertainment show on telly anywhere in the world. By that I mean, it's been on the air for nearly forty years, is live and lasts for over two hours every Friday night !
It is a colossus of broadcasting and I can't wait to see how it all works.
Meantime I'm gonna grab some zeds as it's going to be a LONG couple of days for several reasons no doubt.

Well I've survived into the afternoon, thanks for the lend of the ranty pants!! I can pass them back, have calmed down now....
We have a lovely sunny day here, not sure where the storm is, but it's probably on it's way!
Beez, be careful if you decide to travel, it doesn't sound good for Wales at all, Mum has been battening down the hatches since yesterday, getting everything put away or tied down, and stocking up so they don't have to go out anywhere, even for firewood!
I've never been to Dublin or Belfast, but they are both on my list of "places I want to go" - trouble is it's a very long list that gets more added to it than crossed off!
Anyway, better get back to the grindstone for a while....I agree Chrissie, TFI Friday!!

Deevs hun your showing your age - they are called Starbursts (or were the last time I looked!) by the way WHY do companies change names of products it's infuriating and why do we ALWAYS call the product by it's orignal name, it's a Marathon, not a Snickers bar, get my drift

Crumbs - quiet here today isn't it? I was expecting to have to sit here for ages catching up!

The king of a small African nation had an elegant golden throne in his large grass hut. Hope you have a fab time over there in Ireland, have been to Dublin once and really liked it, have only ever sat on the runway of Belfast airport.
Was supposed to be having a visit from my Goddaughter and her Daddy today but alas she was sick in the night and so was a very tired and grumpy little girl this morning, so we've postponed. Last I heard she had been asleep for 3 hours and counting!

Can't skip to my loo at the moment because there's a man in there boxing off the cistern.
I've never been to Dublin or Belfast I'm ashamed to say; I've only been to Ireland once, for the day believe it or not - a "business trip" to Cork , which was lovely, in my shady pre-teaching days. I've never seen such a small aeroplane. Anyway, Boleynman is a quarter Irish and still has family over there so we keep meaning to go. I remember my girls crying with laughter when they heard that one of his cousins is called Porrig.
(Apologies to any Porrigs who may be lurking).
Anyhow, I hope Chris meets up with Clodagh, I'd love to see that picture.

Well Beez if you want a weather update, here it is...
Have just come back from St Audries petrol station where it looks like they are going to lose their canopy tonight.
My shed has been vacated of wabbits as I dont think it will be there in the morning.
I have just come back from local town in BIG car and had a struggle to keep it on my side of the road.
A power cut looks imminent as the lights keep going.
Mind you its still warm, I just came out of ELH and it was warmer out than in !!
Its pretty scary here, and I dont scare easily I can reassure you.

1 Not eat choc, cake, sweets or biccies (unless in dire need!) Eat fruit instead!!

3 Stick to the healthy diet I know I should eat (except when out on mini blog meets or Seasonal celebration lunches)
4 Walk around a bit more!

Am now watching the latest 'Curb your Enthusiasm' which is - by some distance - my favourite TV program.
It exposes all of your prejudices and then actually deals with them like you would, as opposed to to showing the pc route.
Honestly - if you haven't seen it, I will lend you my dvd's.
You have to see the 'Beloved *unt' show!!!!

Yes Anne did the crepe thing too.
We were there when the Chunnel went on fire, cant remember what year.
About 1997, I think.
We went through the tunnel and cut ourselves off from society for 2 weeks and then found out that we were the one of the last ones to get through before the lorry fire.
First we knew was when we were diverted to the P&O ferry on the way home!!

Have done it before for Lent Annie, but have got into bad habits at the mo. Having a choccie bar everyday type thing instead of as a treat. Easier to stop altogether

Seza - the Scout's have really moved on. At my first camp, we had to construct bivouac's or sleep in the open. And the night's entertainment was - how many raw Sausages could you eat!

Rips, they're off to proper camp - in tents! -first weekend in December!! Last year boy1 went at the same time & it snowed! Do not want to think what they're going to eat there!

Good news Beez is that we have a new Waitrose a bit nearer than Portishead, which is about 65 miles from us.
Yes, in their infinite wisdom, Co-op built a brand spanking new building to put a Somerfield in,then, guess what, Co-op bought Somerfield, hence empty premises.

OMG MTF - don't go there - well actually do !! I always go in there (on my doorstep near nuff - my closest supermarko would you believe after Morrythings by 50 yards) for a few fav things and come out with - well - you name it!! Enjoy!!!

8 mile round trip is civilised enough for me.
All the other stores are a 50 mile round trip.
On an emergency callout tonight as my lovely friend who was due the same time as Lyndyloo is still hanging in there!
So, little daughter of 21 months might be coming to stay at very short notice.

Yup in the concrete jungle I live in here M super 4 mins drive away W super 4mins 10 seconds plus an elh express somewhere on estate I have yet to find !! apparently 2 mins away and spar shop 1 min drive away!
Even in Wales elh 16 or so mins drive away!

Ah, Christophe, is all too late for me. The Badger has been busy winning GBP2.60 on free poker, so I haven't had a look in...even for ARF! Anyhoo, give my love to Belfast...particularly if you go anywhere near Greenisland or Carrick Fergus, and whilst in Dublin, make sure you visit the Tart with the Cart. When I was in Dublin we were arst to leave the Hard Rock Cafe because we were being a bit rowdy. They had a Star Wars thing going on, and they didn't believe that I knew Kenny Baker. R2D2. Was in panto at the theatre wot I worked at, and I got to know him and his wife quite well. But that's not for here.
Have a FABulous time in Nornirn and Eire...there are few more hospitable places on this earth...as I'm sure Clodagh will testify!!
Did you do really well on Milyonaire? I turned the telly over to watch you, and the Badger informed me that it was Thursday today...so I missed it...dammit jannit...hope you did brilliantly!!! Sure you mustev.
Other news...sorry not been to the party this week. Think L'pool finished me off...and wot wiv having to grovel to the Virgin man and everything...I've never bin so happy to get home to a cup of builders and a lovely Badger cuddle.
Anyhoo, Lyndyloo is feeling a bit out of touch as nothing in her house seems to be working properly, and she's given me her home phone number if anyone would like to get in touch. If you can find me, and you'd like it, I'll let you have it. As it were.

Everyone survived? It wasn't so bad up here in the end, but still trying to get through to Mum, wondering if the phone lines are down?
Supermarkets - MTF, you would not believe how many we have in a 5 mile radius of home!! 4 x ELH of varying sizes, 3 x bottom slapping shop, 2 x Sainsbugs, 2 x Morries, and various other Co-op, german stores, and corner shops!

Right ,as I'm seeing from last nights posts ,I see that my little is wanting me to request a South Coast Meet .
I dont mind and would be more than happy to sort one either mini or what .BUT it seems that there is one in march and the April one that you seem to want ,wouldn't that be a little to close together ??
what about a bit later say May time or around that time .????
I am also happy to meet up with people that live locally so to speak to have lunch any time ,would love to.

Eb - not sure why dogs are so stupid when it's windy, mine loves it, the wetter and windier the better! Mr JG says they get the wind up their tails...there's no answer to that really!
Spoken to Mum, she's fine, managed to get to the theatre and back on her own last night, although her little old Micra needed water-wings, and she had to divert to avoid the floods! No damage up at the farm, only a blocked stream, which they've managed to clear before the water backed up too much.
I am going to pop down to our local garden centre shortly, as I need to get a birthday present for Mum, it's not until December 15th, but after next weekend, I won't see her until C********!!
Other than that, I'm going to clean the house up a bit, seems it's a never-ending battle with muddy paw prints at the moment!

By golly its a tad blowy. Good news is the new roof has held out so far, despite sinister sounding clankings last night. The massive willow 5 foot from our door is still standing, and the river is still where it should be rather than pouring into the conservatory - or tom servery as 1 nephew calls it. However, we have had rabbit pens blown down, a few boughs littering the field, and several cats gorn missing - though I'm sure only temporarily.
Hoping the rest of you have hattened down the batches and keeping cozy.

Question for you FB people...i am trying to get around to acknowledging everyone as friends btw so bear with me BUT call me paranoid I like to keep this blogging secret from other "friends" on fb ie work people. How do i keep things seperate or is that not possible. If work people see the CLP bloggers its not secret do you get my drift. I love this blog but i know i will get my leg pulled at work as some people think it is sad to be a blogger and don't understand the fun that we have on here.

In answer to your FB queries, if you are friends with someone, they can see your page/wall and you can see theirs, so either have two accounts, which might be confusing (you can do this with the same email address, just different passwprds) or keep family and colleagues off your friends list.
Personally, I'm not worried, and have a real mix of bloggers, old school friends, family and colleagues....

Am a slightly worried Scoobs at the mo tho..just had a text from the GM saying he`s been `rearranging` things at home..now we only have a little semi so how the hell he has managed that im not sure..i wonder what awaits at 5,30!

FB, a whole new world of quandries (sp?) I haven't added my neice, because i didn't want to "see" her doing anything she shouldn't. Mind you, she hasn't requested me either. Work friends, only have 1 & we very much of the same mind so happy for her to see me. Have refused several old work friends. I just make sure there is nothing on FB I don't want made public.
Anyone been blown away yet today? Was just going to walk up into town & heavens opened again.
Have been making cards all afternoon. Can't say what for (too stormy for the norty step today!) but i am getting fed up with cute lickle robins!! Have run out of double sided tape tho so can't do anymore at the mo.

C**** is what I would call a village even though they think it's a town, not big at all!
Old fashioned in outlook, everyone is friendly which is good most of the time but sometimes it's not good when everyone knows your business!

Evening all
Early start for me this morn - at vets at half 8 with mrssootycat for her annual health check and boosters. She's 13 now and vet lady told me she (sooty, not the vet) has a slight heart murmer. Nothing to worry about yet, but just be watchful of her health.
Then went into town for coffee with bestest friend and told her what a Savage time was had in Liddipool last weekend. Also bought my God Daughter and God Son some Pudsey ears to wear to school on Friday (and got yours Baggy!).
Went a bit mad in the pound shop - shoe boxes for Christmas being put together tomorrow and taken to local church collection point.
Then Mr Deevs came to ELH with me so did a huge massive shop for a change.
Afternoon spent watching Flash Forward, had a nap with mrssootycat snuzzled up beside me and have just made a lasagne for dinner.
The wind and rain are blowing a hoolie outside but its lovely and warm in here.
23rd Dec - CLP said to Clodagh that she has to be there, so assume it's go go go operation 02. We all await further details ........
Evening ahead: wine, Strictly, choclit and not much else!

Oh Deevs, thanks for the reminder, I need to book Finlay in for his jabs soon.
Need to look at Mr JG's schedule to see when he can come with me, as the vets is in the back of one of MW-a's shops, and you can imagine the destruction one mad dog could do!!
It's just so hard to hold on to him, and pay, and put everything back on the shelves etc etc on your own. Last year he took a fancy to a feather boa for cats!!

yup wall to wall blue at the moment - forecast is more heavy rain tho so going to finish this coffee and take my little doggies out for a well deserved walk - they've not been out for 5 days due to sogginess of weather - they refuse! (thank goodness) So a run around the field will be welcomed I think!

Sounds like a brighter morning all round at the moment. Darn Essex is bright blue & waiting for you Debs.
Im fact, is very bright in my living room this morning. They have cut some huuuuuuuge willow trees down opposite us (they were dangerous,,great big branches kept falling off them, so had to be felled) I can't believe how much lighter this room is though.
For a change, I haven't got much to do today and Mr Seza has to rush here, there & everywhere. So I'm just going to potter round & finish those cards I started yesterday, that's if the cute lickle robins haven't all joined forces and mounted a counter action!!
I think Toad in the hole for lunch, better go buy some eggs for the batter.

Lovely lie-in this morning finishing CLP's book. Awwwwwwwwwwwwww. The bits at the end made me go all slushy mushy wushy woo! And that doesn't happen very often.
Bloo sky here in Sarf Suffolk this morn. Washing in machine may get pegged out today instead of plonked straight on the airer.
Crimbo cake fruit been swimming in brandy all nite so the house will soon be of a christmas-cake fragrance. Lovely!

My bezzie mate said yesteerday that my beautiful God-Daughter (6) knows that Santa isn't real. So BF let her in on the secret that only grown-ups know this to be the case, so she must not under any circumstances tell her ickle bro (4). God Daughter now reet chuffed that she's a "grown up" !!
PANIC!! Just had phone call from lovely auntie (lives in Newark). She's in Suffolk visiting friends and will pop in and say hi in about half an hour - yikes!!!

Deevs I was in that very same predicament once. At least you have had some warning.
My uninvited guests just dropped in on me.
I was in the middle of making soup,cakes and bread dough was rising, so the kitchen was a bomb site.
I had stripped all the furniture and the covers were drying on the line.
The rest of the washing was draped over bushes in the garden as the line was full.
The kids had the paddling pool out on the lower part of the garden with toys and water pistols everywhere.
We had all had a massive water fight and were drenched when a face appeared at the back gate.
Horror, I must have seeemed very rude as I was so embarrassed, if they had only called I would have put them off for an hour and they could have been greeted by some lovely H/m soup and freshly baked bread, followed by some lovely choccy cake AND the covers would have been back on the furniture and all else tidied up.
I have never seen them since, this was about 10 years ago.
They thought they would surprise me and see how we had settled in to our new home.

Seza ,What you have to do with boy 2 is be a bit crafty .
Things I have done for the grandsons are .
Bought large reindeer bells and tied up their sacks with them threaded with nice ribbon along with a label on them with hoof prints on the label ,they could just about read their names on the label.
Borrowed a horses oat bucket from my friends stable along with some straw and oats and on Christmas morning when they come downstairs they see the straw in the hall and outside front door the bucket with the oats in ,oh!! and don't forget the water bucket as well.
Can also throw in a couple of carrots ,as Rudolph likes them ,helps them see in the dark.
I always try and do something along those lines ,just to keep them aware that there is a Santa because who else would be daft enough to do all that .hahaha .You never know.

Heres a little tip for any of you that might use the little cube things when you are cooking, bet some of you do at some time!!
Ok, OXO cubes, squeeze them on all four sides until they are loose powder inside, tear a corner off and bingo, it will pour straight out of the liitle packet and no icky fingers !

Bids, will never admit any chance that certain red suited person might not exist but boy2 at age where want to be sure same as others at school without taking anything away. Bridge I think the Rod Stewart one you are thinking about is the Great American song book - there were about 3 volumes.
Chicken in t'oven first glass of red in hand - cheers! Managed to do all needed in bolt hole but still not picked up Chris's book. Tis sitting there looking at me though. Dog walking and fresh air just had to be done. Took phone with me but goodness knows why - no signal and I can only get a signal here if I point it out to sea - yes - well! don't say it.
Got the sky stuff here - otherwise no tv, half way up a valley - but just freeview so will be watching Top Gear - no contest really - never watch X factor - yuk - and as for I could do with paying my staff I need to be famous again - well no thank you very much.

Seza, I think my fear is getting halfway through and then the phone rings for him to go out, leaving me scared for the rest of the evening!
Beez, I've managed 3 pages...pathetic really, but I do have a sparkly house, and all my washing's done and ironed (all 4 tops that needed it)!
Don't really like bananas, but might give that a try, as they are supposed to be good for us

Yep, survived, had to take a few minutes out, so finished up 9 mins behind!
Deev, have asked Mr JG (oracle on sporty things)- it'll have been an exhibition match - presumably Phil Taylor was playing?
Apparently in darts and in snooker, there is no rule that says women can't play men, and there was a good woman snooker player recently. She switched to pool, he thinks.
Apparently the height difference is an issue in both sports - height of the dart board and reach for snooker - and pro women don't usually get the shortened "oggie".
My feeling is that us women all have better and more worthy things to be doing! lol
