I have decided to start a collection...
... pencils. Less expensive than cars, greener and ultimately more useful.
I have several from the last couple of days, two with rubbers on the end. May also start a parallel pencil sharpener collection. Pencil sharpeners I believe are the cheese graters of the admin world.
Stayed in a swanky bijou hotel in Glasgow last night and we all agree - hotels are too hot in the morning. We all convened in reception sweating from our showers, baths and panicky getting ourselves together.
The signing is going well, last night in Manchester we had less than Peter Andre but more than Freddie Flintoff ! Hilarious. Also met four fab blogettes, here they are -

This morning already on the road for a warehouse stock signing of a thousand books and then off to Radio Scotland to see my good friend Fred MaCaulay on his show, before another signing in the city itself and then on Newcastle.

I'm finally getting things sorted out here in prep for the big day. El-Bumpo is moving southwards so Mum is getting on my case about paking the hospital bag. I've started with a list and now have to work out how to fit it all in. It's a lot easier to pack for a week skiing!!
Have to have the cot-bed exchanged today as the one that was delivered has marks on. Still feel like there's loads to do but I'm sure it will be fine. I'm a big believer in "go with the flow".
Shame I won't get to get to a book signing but I met CLP some time ago and he was luvly then as I'm sure he still is.
Right... off to have a quick dance (thanks for the idea Deev) and then I'd better get some clothes on and take the Booboo out.

Now that is alot of books!!!!! CLP don't complain about the heating - our boiler is broken!! It was very very cold last night!!! It's October and I might have to go buy thermals!!!

I chatted to CLP on the radio back in February on the way to my best friends birthday outing - he was a very nice chap! Unfortunately my friends had commited an act of something and were listening to the other side when I got to the hotel - I told them off and then found wifi so that i could play the clip through BBC iplayer in the middle of the pub! They were very chuffed (actually I think my Dad was more chuffed - he turned the radio up in his office and got very excited that his daughter was on the radio lol

@alright_flower Twitter is about communication lol. I don't really know how to describe it lol. You can read the page on a well know internet encyclopaedia they have a pretty good description - the other option is to try a well know video channel they also have a lot of clips with like explainations about it. If you have FB it's like the status box on there but that is all it does lol.

Very excited Scoobs here still! Wow..what a fabulous night..
CLP was already said by others, a truely top bloke. Didnt seem to mind us giggling girlies and suggested the pics etc..oh and we each got a double kiss and hug too....yay!
We also questioned him re the new show..well AF did anyway! Inside scoop is a few elements are staying and Johnny is going with him too..yay again!
Follow this by a lovely meal with AF and MC (such a shame you couldnt stay JG) and a top,top night was had...gues what..yay!
So still smiling..despite the H and S stuff still needing to be finished..not yay!

Pencils with erasers - I used to have a small collection of these as a child - the erasers were Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs!

I guess you get more miliage from a pencil? How many miles will you sign? Would you be using a green pencil? Or does it become a crayon then? Hello, can anyone help me please. Firstly, I'm trying to find out more places where our intrepid hero is going to be book signing so I can pop along and get a copy and say hello. Also, I'm a total technophobe (can't believe I manage to do this comment thingy!) and have looked at twitter, but can't work out how to comment on Christophe's tweets. Any techi advice would be much appreciated. I'm leaving my desk for the day now but will check in tomorrow to see if anyone's able to educate me :-)

Tiggs, the mohair is lovely and warm and snuggly and soft. Not itchy or scratchy in the slightest. Think I may have to visit my fave shop (that'll be eBay then!) and get a few more knitted for the winter ahead.
Just got back from the dealership of my car, a Japanese company beginning with N. I thought the battery in the key fob was going but after replacing the battery, it's still a bit iffy so looks like a full-on book the jalopy in for investigation thingy .... booo!!! The want 53 squid for a half hour investigation - and that's before they fix anything.

Have a look at Cheryls twittering and you will see the ugly comments aimed my way as per.
So do I ignore them? Yes I should but then again why should somebody be able to be so rude.
It amount's to Cyber bullying and taking over websites to get noticed.
I prefer to stay in the background as I think a few people do on here and other websites.
I think I should be allowed to respond as I certainly keep my twittering private.

Lucky you Deev, I wish, just once, that I could have a meal cooked for me, other than when I'm at my Mum's! Last one he did was a fry-up when we were on holiday, although I must admit it was good!

CLP that's a lovely thing to do, posting the photo. Am sat sittin' here in me hotel just outside Dublin and very envious. What a wheeze.
And Rips, Chrissie, Mary and Dreamer, same again. It's always fantastic when you meet someone you've admired and they're as warm and lovely as you hope.
I might just take another look at the aul Twitty. I did dangle the aul toe in some time ago but it bothered me a bit, to be honest.. it does unnerve me not knowing who I'm yakkin' at. Which might sound a bit rich coming from this daft aul bint, e-mailin' Wogan and spoutin' platitudes on a regular basis on here. But I kinda feel that's pretty much Take-it-or-leave-it stuff; and the feedback you get is mostly genuine and fair. Mostly. Twitter.. hmm I'm not sure, you really don't know who you're talking to, and am still nervous about Facecloth for the same reason. I know you don't have to accept 'friends', but it makes me feel bad when I don't, then irritated when am bombarded with messages.
Oo listen to me. Pfffff Betty No Mates here, hahahahaha!!

That was fab! Dinner, of course.
I had a really busy day today, which was lovely to be honest, if a wee bit stressful at times. Boss man was out on site but on the phone every 10 minutes dictating yet another email / memo / quote etc. He's more grief when he's out than when he's in some days!
And the docking station for the iPod is definitely the best thing I have ever bought for my office space - so nice to have poddypod on all day in the background for company as being on your own in the office can be a pretty lonely existence.
Lots waiting for me in the morning too - seeing as I was worried about my job earlier this year, it's turned full circle and is now nicely busy. Even tho tomorrow is the dreaded invoicing day, I'm going to make the most of it, get my head down and think of the rewards .....
obviously, in between popping on here to keep up with you lot, tweeting our man on the road CLP, and any other odds and s*ds that demand my attention.
And finally (thank gawd, I hear you all cry ...)apologies for speaking as a "we" in my post #96. Of course, I was only expressing my own opinion and not that of anyone else on this ere bloggage.

Ergo I don't go to the TT Races, Doctor Who conventions or Cruft's. That does NOT mean that I look disdainfully on the many thousands of people who do, it simply means I don't. That's life. Everybody's different. I'm guessin' most Prize Bull-Mastiff-breeders wouldn't appreciate my vintage Mulberry sunglasses, Westwood dress or Louboutin heels. Most Bikers wouldn't enjoy knitting. If I stormed the stage at a Celine Dion concert and roared at her for givin' me the heeby-jeebies, (and she does), everybody would think I'd lost my mind for paying to see her in the first place. Well, frankly, I would have. Because Celine Dion would think exactly the same of ME, and that's FINE.
So. If you find the company here boring, beneath your intellect, whatever, please, Sunshine, for your own sake as much as anyone's, go seek out some like-minded people. I cannot for the life of me work out why you want to contribute here; unless what you have is a persecution complex. And if you do, then you need to get that addressed. Feeding it is really not helpful, and obsessing about anything or anyone is always a sign that you have some other issue you're avoiding.
Now, as I've said before, I'm wishing you well, I don't know if you'll take this in the spirit in which it's intended but there you have it. I'm sorry to say it but you seem so unhappy and angry, you're doing yourself no favours this way. You know what they say about bashing your head against a brick wall, don't you? I was so happy to meet him, and although I'm no Kate Moss, I'm so proud to have my photo up there! It's made my day, and evening yesterday!
He is one really nice guy, and to see him smiling at us giggling away before we approached him, and to see his face light up once he knew we were bloggers was priceless. He took the time and trouble to ask how we had got our blog names and hug and kiss us all! Plus take all the photos and more chatting.
Now I might be a relative new-comer to this blog, but I was PROUD to tell him my blog name, where it came from, and my real name, and to chat to him!
I would imagine you wouldn't be so proud to give him your details...

I have, many times, asked Mr Croc (or whomever that blogger is being at the time) to contact me away from the blog and tell me what the problem is, as I am truly baffled as to the obsessive behaviour towards me.
This behaviour has been going on for approx 18 months now, yet the user currently known as Croc has yet to let me know, away from here, why she feels the way she does towards me.
I hope that clarifies things a little.

Your posts have caused anger, not jealousy. There is a big difference. For instance, I am very angry with Osama Bin Laden. I am not in the least jealous of him, he has nothing at all that I would wish to have, and nor would I wish to change places with him. My anger comes from outrage, pure and simple. See? A bit extreme, I know, but you seem to be missing it.
As for humour. Humour is something witty that makes you laugh and lifts your spirits. Spite is not in the least amusing and can never be called humour. If you gain salacious amusement from others' discomfort, that makes you a bully and a sadist. Now, I'm sure you are neither. Not really. Think about it.
And if I thought I could help you by talking to you I'd send you my direct number. But I suspect you don't want, or need, to listen so much as to be listened TO. And that's only natural too. There are people out there who will hear you, but you won't get the mike if you're going to use it as a missile.

Too busy for twittering meself but each to their own and whatever floats your boat.
Now Croc. I've had fun bantering with you over the past few months, (years?)I don't deny. I've also had a go at you at times.
I want to say this to you.
You can be part of this blog without being the same as everyone else. You can be part of this blog without being here all the time. You can also be part of it if you aren't on Facebook. There are many examples of this type of blogger. If you aren't interested in what people are having for tea then scroll down, If there's anyone who drives you mad then scroll past them, unless it's in a banterish way.
Without wanting to get too flouncy, I think the blog is a bit like life.
Some people you will click with immediately and be good mates with and miss them when they aren't there..
Some people you will enjoy the company of but not miss them too much when they're gone.
Some people you are kind of aware of but you accept that you probably have little in common with.
Now and then there might be one or two people who get right up your nose, without even trying.
The thing is, and I keep trying to impress this on my girls, that nothing gets you through life more comfortably than good manners. And humour. And if you can throw a bit of charm in then so much the better.
So basically, if you're feeling negative about anyone, for what ever the reason, unless you're on an equal playing field, as you are obviously not, because like it or not Chezza has massive support on this blog, then just go away for a while and have a laugh about it and do something else. Then come back when you're in a better mood.
You know there are people here who like having a laugh with you. That should be enough, it certainly is for me.

As it happens, I'm over here in Dublin after a hard day's work, about to jump into a well-earned bath and looking for a little giggle and a catch up with what I'm guessing will be a lot of happy people.

Hi guys hope you are good. As you know I don’t often post simply cos often by the time I’ve caught up some of the posts (yes skipping some, but by no means disrespectful) the time to add my thoughts has long gone. Anyhow, there was an interesting convo Monday I think which I wanted to add my fourpennorth to but first a private, secret question to KW.
Sometime ago I saw the chocolate mentioned by Boleyngirl. I have wondered ever since are you named after the choc or is it t’other way round? It’s called Sexy Gingembre by the way....unless I imagined the sexy bit ......
Right the bookshop electronic issue. Whilst both have a place I would always have thought I would plop down firmly in favour of small shop, the smell (!) the enlightenment, happy memories of browsing with my son when he was little (he was at the Chekov, me the Postman Pat) but since being confined to house access to electronic media is fantastic. For instance CLP’s recommendation the other week of Plato’s Symposium....googled it, went to web site, started reading it. Haven’t finished it because it coincided with a downturn for me but at least its started.
I don’t think Barney was being cheap looking for a bargain. There are some things I like I don’t mind how much I pay (Ferrari’s anyone? Cough) and other things I’m as mean as can be over.
On that vein & I hope it’s ok to mention CLP’s book which I really wanted & deffo falls in the at any price category, is a rainforest’s book deal of the week at 8 quid. Finally a benefit from being ill. If I had been well I would have had it by now Until the 15th I think.
It’s oh so tempting to join twitter but as I tried facebook & couldn’t hack it I think I’d better pass.

Look I was just looking at CTD's twitter and noting how many tweets she had sent to Chris Evans sneeky yes but... I know my way around twitter. but what do I see is me being called a creature and all sorts of nasty comments.

I think the blog has changed over the past year because it's become a virtual hug with little to be learned or gained from. I enjoy a bit of banter with like minded people and should we be denied that because of certain people.

Sad really after a lovely and exciting start to the blog with pictures at signings and Annie's wonderful news that things should have degenerated so much.
All our spirits were much better and lifted earlier in the day.
Still excited though deep down to have met Chris after following his antics for so long - now that is a person who knows when to call a halt on things and turn his life around. Thank goodness he has good people in his life past and present who have helped along the way. Can't wait ti read it all xx

Interesting fact: All of the Swans in England are NOT owned by the Queen.
She shares them with the Vintners and the Dyers and to this day, once a year in July they all pootle up the Thames and ring the ones they can catch.
Not that interesting I suppose, but I read about it years ago and it stays with me (probably because of my absession with the Thames) and it makes me look like a spoon when I correct people.

When I first posted about 2 years ago I just thought it would be an apt name to use. I once lived in France and also won some emoney on a horse of that name. I have ginger hair, Chris does.....you get the drift I'm sure.

You lot maybe virtual (although I have met a few of you) and it all maybe a bit of fun (most days) but this blog has given me a chance to correspond with Chris Evans who as my first wife would tell you has been one of my favourite 'celebs' for so many reasons.
It has given me an item I cannot believe I have - the boot!
The overwhelming support I received when the above mentioned first wife passed will stay with me forever.
Then there's those of you who financially and morally supported both #1 daughter in her Race for Life and my efforts last weekend in the 10k 'all for charidee'
- just a few reasons why I really enoy coming on here

Pffffff hohohoho Rips yous awful eejit.
As it happens I was only laffin' at some swans doin' a Jonathan Edwards on Dublin's Grand Canal this morning. I don't know why but it always makes me titter when they all run along the surface of the water; like watchin' a dog chasin' its tail, or stickin' its head out the car window. And the comedy value I used to get from watchin' the ducks landin' on the iced-over canal beside where I used to live was marvellous. Like watchin' Eddie the Eagle. Or Doris the Duck. Small things, huh.

Sorry back in room but not asleep.
Constant banging noise like a loose heating pipe in a riser.
Rang reception who apologised for the Pub down the road.....Durr - NO - I know what drunks sound like (and so does he now!) but this is a mechanical noise. Anyway, he said to wait and that he would call me back, which he did!
He then told me that he had been up and couldn't hear anything from the corridor......patience Rips.
He eventually came to the room and agreed that it was a 'hotel' problem.
But that they had no other rooms and he couldn't get hold of maintenance.
Great - not his fault, but he really didn't need to wind me up in the first place.
Still - this should become the cheapest suite I've ever stayed in following my complaint tomorrow.....A first for me because I never complain, but this will stop me sleeping.
Which is ironic, as anyone who reads this will be soundo!

Morning all. Meself and the lark up and at 'em today, am about to hit the road to Tipperary, it's a long way ..
Rips, hope you got some sleep. But you should complain, if not now, e-mail the hotel. When the GD and I stayed in what is usually a lovely hotel in Galway for the Races, one I've stayed at before, I paid a fortune for the room. Fair play, the hotels in Galway always hike the price up for Race Week; you're well aware of this when you book and it's fair enough. However, our room had all sorts of problems, shower not working properly, iron not working, etc. And said hotel being rammed to the rafters, they couldn't even move us.
Obviously, this didn't spoil our enjoyment of the trip but I was disappointed, having the GD in tow, and miffed, to say the least, that given the high cost of the rooms, they hadn't at least all been thoroughly checked beforehand. So I sent a bit of a snooty e-mail to the said hotel once back home, detailing my disappointment, and expected an acknowledgement but nothing more. But almost immediately I had a call from the hotel manager, offering me another 2 nights plus dinner at a future date, crikey.
Now, I'm not saying you'll get the same, Rips, it was way beyond what I'd have expected, to be honest, but as you say, what you want is acknowledgement that you've paid for a service in good faith and haven't had value for money. So get a tarty e-mail off if you get no joy this morning.
Ok am off. Oh It's A Long Way To Go... without your knickers.. It's A Long Way To Tipperary...

Morning each!
Its half ten and housework done, ironing done, oven cleaning lady been(fabulous!), and now i have the rest of the day to myself with nothing planned...how fab is that?! SO, books at the ready and i may surface about 6 tonight!

And the gang who met CLP yest..and Sus55!..i know i keep saying it but glad you all think he`s a top bloke too!

Have managed to sneak on here at work. What a fabulous picture of you all - has kept me smiling since I saw it.
Its lovely to know so many are managing to catch up with you Chris on your way round the country and getting such a communicative buzz from it.

just want to send big hugs to all the people who need one - I love this blog and I think it's fab the way people share bits of their lives with everyone.
I may be sad but you lot really are like friends to me - I know that I could ask you for help, support, advice etc and you'd be there, even if it is only in a virtual way.
And the blog makes me laugh!!!

tins - i don't think its sad at all! even though most of us haven't met and even though i'm only an occasional blogger i think you're right that we like to hear about each other's lives and help/support where we can! i've never used a blog before but this seems to draw you in - just can't help getting involved!
and the number of references the blog/bloggers get from CLP he obviously likes it too!!
