Hey happy dudes of the blog.

Chris Evans | 10:02 UK time, Friday, 23 October 2009

Stunning blue skies around Heathrow as we flash by on our way in to London for an in house on stage staff Q and A with meself and Kirsty Young at BH.

Tired from watching the late QT show last night and up early with yee little one by the name of Noah. Think we may have had the best of the day as the mist was hanging magically over the garden at the same time as daybreak was having one final stretch and a lazy yawn.

I almost feel sorry for politicians on days like today.

Now you good people have a nice weekend now !

    Morning Chris

A Q&A - nerve-wracking?!?! I used to hate those when I had my recycling job. I could answer most things (girly swot, me!) but there was always some smart-alec in the throng who wanted to out-smart the presenter and show off their in-depth knowledge of all things tree-huggy.

The early morning mist has now cleared here in Essex and we too have blue skies and a bit of sunshine.

    Morning Chris,

Just about to escape this madness and head to Bath accompanied by your good self and the remainder of your book.
You'd better make me laugh.....I need it!

You seem to thrive in an interview environment (certainly the case with OC the other morning),you seem to enjoy it...and why not?
Nice that people are interested I s'pose.

Have a good day the rest of you

Had to chip in on the intimate venue topic.

    Three of the greatest gigs I have seen were in such places;

1987 Guns n Roses, old Wardour St. Marquee.

2009 Chickenfoot in the sweatbox that is the Shepherds Bush Empire.

Can't for the life of me remember the year, but Suede were awesome down in Brighton, first outing post-Butler, so I'm guessing 94ish.

Oh, and I'm rather looking forward to seeing Green Day this weekend too.

Shame it isn't down my local pub.

    Peace + love

Hello everyone! I knew I shouldn't have stayed up to watch QT. It's not that the programme finished that late - it's just that it took hours to watch because we had to keep pressing the pause button to have noisy discussions about it.

ARF Chris - could I have Pulling Mussels (From A Shell) by Squeeze pleeze.

    Thanks xx

Hi Chris, Wrote a huge missive with my views on the whole QT thing but lost my nerve to post it so cannot comment on your blog, apart from to say that as politicians decide to do the job they do I am afraid they have little sympathy from me. Enjoy the Q & A with Kirsty. Have a wonderful weekend yourself with your lovely family!

Off on my hols tomorrow, so quite excited today!

Cheryl: hope you and MrCtD have a good time tonight. Last time MrS and I went to a show - Jools Holland and approximately 15 other unbelievably noisy musicians - MrS fell asleep! I know he had had a busy week, but good grief! Enjoy your evening!

Hope everyone else is having a good day. Friday again, can't believe it!

Even when the trumpets did the magnificent blaring out loudly bit???

    Even through Ruby????? And Rico????

Hats off to the man. That takes some doing.

Obviously wasn't sat next to me cos I would have woken him up with my boogieing. Have seen them about 8 times now & can't sit still.

PPS - Also all those white Ferraris... reminds me of what Ferrari 'eaven would look like!!!!!!
PPPS - Yer see the only flaw with twitter... wouldn't ave beena ble ter say all a just ave on twitter in the nice way ave just said it!!!!!

Seza: I KNOW!! Incredible as it may seem, he was out for the count. I became aware that he was really, really quiet and I thought "oh dear, he is hating this, for some reason". Then, I thought, well that's his problem, because this is fantastic. And then I took a really good look at him .... sound asleep! For about 20 mins. He was horrified when he woke up, and during the interval had a few glasses of water - apparently the heat of the hall hit him, and knocked him out!!

And what a fantastic show - Jools Holland is an utter genius IMHO!

Beez: my boss saw Fleetwood Mac in Glasgow last night - he said they were just fantastic.

I remember MrS bought me Rumours a month after our 1st wedding anniversary. Two gifts, two months running .... what were we, millionaires?!

Baggy: I still have six days holidays to take before the end of the year - I plan to take them mostly as Monday holidays - that way, on Sunday nights, I won't get the "Monday Morning Blues"!

One of those Monday's will be after the Liverpool Meet - I think I may need a lie-in!

    C xx

  • Comment number 50.

Hi SBP - I'll forgive you for ignoring my ARF!!!

See if your local college has any day courses for the 8 week duration and if there is anything that interests you. It is half term this week and they might do something fun in the weeks leading up to the C-word thingummyjig.
Do some volunteering in a local charity shop one day a week, or meals on wheels or something similar.
Does your church run any groups during the week you could help out with for the period running up to C-mas?

Would you believe the beloved OH has just rang me (bearing in mind we go away tomorrow) and he appears to have succumbed to the flu that middle man had at the beginning of the week. So I am now a not so excited Daisy as I may be driving the boys and I by myself to our destination, with himself catching up with us when he is better :-(

Oh golly I dont like it when that happens - anyone know why it does - it was doing it in my emails too - so sent them anyway - cant wait for the reactions! LOL

  • Comment number 53.

May I borrow the ranty pants please.

My daughter is moving house today. There are only two properties in the chain.
Buy to let buying their house. They are buying a bungalow to make it easier for my daughter to get around and the people they are buying off are emigrating!

So why the **** have they not completed their purchase yet and so are still waiting to collect the keys which involves a 15 mile round trip before the removal men can start lugging in the furniture.

Do solicitors do it to wind people up on what is a stressful occasion anyway.
I took a days holiday to help. I might as well have not bothered!!

    Rant over. Sorry everyone.

I hope you are all having a good day.

  • Comment number 54.

Don't get me started on solicitors, as I will be permanently be wearing a pair of aforementioned pants...

Go with a girlfriend if you want to do it but just agree who is the "man", so to speak. It's not just Argentinian Tango but normal Tango, Jive, Cha-cha-cha, quickstep, salsa, rumba that we do..had I better stop there...or it really will be a Green (with jealousy) Day...ha ha..sorry!
Have fun at the gig, though.

So thats another half day booked ;-)

  • Comment number 59.

and I've asled for half a day for shopping and the turning on of Chrimbo lights ;-)

  • Comment number 60.

Daisy: what a start to your holiday. Still, with a bit of luck, Mr Daisy will be ok in a couple of days ..... my rosary beads are rattling as I type! (multi tasking!)

Cheryl: how I would love to dance. My lovely daddy tried everything to teach me the Waltz prior to my wedding, but it was just impossible. My brain could not compute what I was asking my body to do! Years ago, MrS and I gave it go with the old ballroom dancing thingy. Week after week we went along, being taught by a married couple who had won all sorts of awards for dancing. Eventually, the man taught me, the lady taught MrS -all to no avail - they had to admit defeat!

But, you know, I have a wee sneaky feeling you would be good at this - you should discuss further with our lovely Mary - she is an incredible dancer!

Chrissie - when I was in my teens I used to do majorettes and modern contemporary dancing. When my parents split up, mum couldn't afford both so I had to choose, and opted for the baton twirling as more of my mates were in the majorettes.

    Regretted it ever since!

I've been to Jive,Ceroc and Salsa classes and was absolutely c..p at them all, but so loved it, especially the Salsa. Even had lessons in Cuba but still can't do it. • Comment number 69.

Cheryl: regarding New Year Resolutions - you said recently that you had kept yours for 2009. For the first time ever, I really intend to keep mine for 2010. I'm not going to say what they are, but I am really going to keep them, this time!

    Scoobs: hiya to you too!

Darce: great advice! Get right in there with the dancing, before the old knees go! (I know what I'm talking about unfortunately!)

  • Comment number 70.

Chrissie - my NYR was as shallow as me - learn to walk confidently in high heels! I think I can honestly say I've cracked that one now!

Will give the solo dance thing some thought, although Mr Deev may need some persuading to "let" me go on my own.

  • Comment number 71.

me again! Cheryl, nothing "shallow" about learning to walk on high heels! Well done - speaking as someone who has trouble even walking in slippers, I say: good on ya!

And, yes, of course it may be a bit of a challenge for MrCtD to let you go on your own. Good idea from Nic to go with a girl pal!

Argh, just deleted my entire posting in my excitement. Here I go again:

Barney again, well done, and yes indeed Schools Out, for a week anyway, and I am happy happy happy, sorry will shut up about it.

Nicrolastic - I'm so excited, just like the Pointer Sisters. We do all those dances, we've been learning for a year. We are unleashing ourselves on the serious (?) dancing fraternity tomorrow when we go to our first ever grown-up dance, trouble is we're not very grown-up and there will be a bar. We're just along the road from you in Rugby - maybe we should get together, I'll be the lady (ha ha).

Hello everyone else, am a bit out of the loop at the mo but I am here in spirit.

Anyhoooooooo... Cheryl, thanks for the heads up re the clocks, had totally forgotten! Ooh, does that mean an extra hour in bed on Sunday? Or one hour less. Dammit, 35 years old and I still can't figure it out!

Nic #6 - was just reading your post when said fantastic tune started on the old itunes :-)

Deev/Nic/MfR, unlike you lovely folk, I haven't been to many gigs. But I did see Hue & Cry in 19(something) doing an accoustic set in a small hall in the Odyssey Arena in Belfast. Front row seats, could hear Pat Kane singing without the mic, flippin' amazing!!

Eb, how did you get on at the interview?

Deev/MfR, just a weeeeee bit green here, hope you both have a great night!

Chrissie #49 - I'm taking Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday - and yes, I do plan to enjoy myself hehe.

Deev #55 - why am I not surprised that you have jazz shoes :-)

Right, off for another glass of vino - purely medicinal of course, I've got a bad throat you know!

    AF, lovin' your work xxx

    Evening sportsfans,

Shame on you Beez! What with your butcher up the road....I haven't been allowed to eat mince since I met the CMM....she insists on buying Braising Steak and doing it herself.
She has her ways, bless her.

Boleyn - I presume you are collapsed in a heap like a certain teacher that I know?

    Barney - good work fella!

Nic - good toes - naughty toes!!!! Or is that ballet?
