Noah, Beth and I now have the weekend...
...early morning club where Mummy gets to have some zeds, and we three have pre-breakfast/Sat papers bonding sessions during which Beth and Noah vie for who can be the cutest. I'd say they're just about even at the moment.
Have been contemplating getting another doggie recently, not sure though yet. Beth would like a little friend I think, but then she seems really happy with the weekend early club numbers as they stand. Tash has suggested Noah might also like a little friend!
Two great movies consumed over the Sat/Sun - The Damned United and Revolutionary Road. The opposite ends of the gender emotional scale but both highly watchable. How smokin' hot is K. Winslet by the way?
Alright, so 54 drive homes together to go, starting tonight. Two weeks off in Oct, and then a week for pilots in Nov.
Have been thinking to make the most of all these last shows as once they're gone they're gone, and what's been the norm for the last four years willl suddenly be:
"Do you remember when you used to leave for Drivetime every afternoon and ......Ahhhh, it'll all soon be over and then as always we'll wonder where it all went, if it was ever there in the first place...."
Four more years of our lives have flashed by, which is fine, as long as they haven't passed us by.
Onwards and upwards, and let's fear nothing of the future, regret anything in the past and dive into today making as big a splash as we possibly can.

Morning CLP, another early blog!
I found that the personality of my old dog altered when I rescued a second one, and they both then ignored us completely, preferring to spend thime together.
Baggy, from previous blog - have heard that the new TV screens can affect some people like that, particularly in a shop where there are loads of them. They tend to flicker more in the shop too, so take care of yourself! Understand that you feel you should go in to work, new job and all, but be careful with the PC screen

CLP Lots of changes in your routines coming up. Not that I really know anything but maybe want to think about new doggy next year when you know how your day's going to look. BTW, does a week off for pilots mean you get to fly around the sky all week or you're locked in the studio trying new ideas for us?

No walk. Mainly due to the fact that I woke up just after 3am, in a weird panic that Mr Deevs had slept thru his alarm (set for 5am - go figure!) But couldn't get back to sleep after that and was laying awake until the alarm did go off, and then managed to grab half an hour sleep around 6ish.
Will aim for a Tues / Weds / Thurs early morning walk I think.

Lol Deevs, I've done that before - the waking up not the power walking!
Spent ages this morning looking for cardie to put on, it being that sort of weather where bit chilly when you first go out, then warming up later. Couldn't find any til I came into work & found 3 on my chiar! Oviously did the same all last week as well.
Not feeling tip top today. Think i might need to go buy cranberry juice (yuk) later.

So the last of the summer weddings took place - the last of 3 in all, so I think we might actually get our weekends back after the stag do's, hen do's and celebratory evenings - an expensive time for the pocket and the waist . .
You're quite right - this year is flying by - unbelievable - the older I get, the quicker life moves forward - Christmas will be upon us in two shakes of a lambs's tail and then where will we be . .
Roll on Dec 18 - really looking forward to the Ginger mornings . . .

Yes, I agree, savour each drivetime programme from now on - and then it's on to the Breakfast Show and yet another new chapter in your life (and ours!).
As soon as I read your blog, I did think that Tash's suggestion meant another baby! Glad to see Beez and Penny were thinking the same! Well, I'm no expert on this (I only have one child) but I would say this is the perfect time - Noah and baby No.2 would be close together in age ... should be fun trying!

Is it already 4 years that you've been doing drive time Chris? That time's gone very quickly!
And Noah definitely needs a little brother or sister, it's good for them to grow up with company, I love being close to my sisters and brother (4 1/2 years between the 4 of us!).
That's why I had 3 kids because I wanted them to have company, I'd have more but we can't afford to and I want to go back to work.
Thanks everyone for your birthday wishes yesterday, I had a great weekend and so far being 30 is alright!
I hope everyone else with birthday's over the weekend had a good time.
I'm off to do some housework before getting picking little one up, so far I've spent the whole morning on the computer and house is a right mess!!!!

I get far to attached to my animals so I would say NO to another dog just now, only because I have just had to send my Horse to Horsie Heaven. I am an emotional wreck, big red puffy eyes and don't wish to socialise with anyone just now. I know it was for the best, but a VERY hard decision to make nevertheless. Do I get another horse, yes, probably, but the pain just now feels that it wont ever go away.

A very good Morning all,
Quite scary, does that mean 54 drives to work, plus 3 weeks, 'till Christmas? I'm really looking forward to the morning show, I currently lose the vote in the morning (because the alarm's on Mrs MB's side) and snooze to Moyles - obviously Sir Tel joins me later in the bathroom and car! Thinking CLP in the morning will be the deal breaker, and no need to snooze to get a restbite!
Not sure about dog or child. Why not a hamster and if you think you've made a mistake, it'll be gone in a couple of years?!

Good morning everyone, hope you are all well.
BLYiPE - Sorry about your loss, this Thursday is the first anniversary of my boy going to the rainbow bridge, however I had another two to help ease the pain, but he was 30 and they don't live forever (unfortunately).
As far as getting another dog goes CLP - go for it, we have 2 horses, 3 dogs and 4 cats and they are all great and I love them to bits, no kids though, I think I am allergic to them.

Aw Christophe, how lovely your saturday morning sound. Can I just give you a spot of advice (and you can ignore me if you like) re the doggie issue. I'm a canine psychologist and would highly recommend that if you get another pooch you go for either a) a male or b) if you want a female get a smaller breed than a GSD. That way, it's less likely that you'll suffer any 'sibling rivalry' between them in the future.
As for getting another baby - well, that's not my department I'm afraid, but I'm sure Supernanny will have some advice if you need it! Good luck sweetie. Love ya loads. xx

It's funny that the blog today involves pets, I've been thinking about the possibility of getting a dog. I've never had any pets - my mum was against us having any growing up. But now my sister has got a gorgeous Lab who's like one of the family, and I met a really delightful little terrier (I think it was anyway) yesterday. She was so friendly, came over and sat on my lap for ages . . .it was so sweet. Made me start getting dog "broody", it would be a bit of company at home.
But I'd worry about the dog being on its own all day while I'm at work. And at the moment I can't really afford another mouth to feed anyway!

I need to register our choice of secondary school for boy2 so they can tell me in March that school is full & offer him a place at the sink school on opposite side of town (but that will be next years battle, oh joy)
So go to website.
Try to register. System tells me I can't as there is already a password for this email. That'll be the one I used 2yrs ago for boy1 and surprisingly, can't remember
So, fill in forgot your password, wait for email
3 hours later no email so ring office to be told it could take 24 hours to come through.
This is just to register!!
I'm sure it was much easier when we were little. You went to one school, then went to the next school. I'm sure there was none of this palavar!

BG..nightmare and my reason 432 for not having kids..i remember being a teenager! I have trauma when the cat goes out in a morning and doesnt come back before we leave for work! Seriously..all you parents out there are amazing!
And in relation to that.. meant to say to SWF earlier..i have a cat who knows that she is either out all day or in all day dependant on the decision she makes in the morning as we leave! Has been like that since a kitten as we had no facilities for a catflap. She is the most loving, sweet cat you could wish for so being at home all day is fine for her.. what im trying to get to is maybe a cat as a pet instead of a dog? Just a thought.

Seza - FIRST TRAUMA? At 12? Miss Boleyn's life has been one long trauma, or at least it feels like that sometimes. She had her first tantrum at 16 months. Must be hard seeing your son turned down though, perhaps you'll have to give him a few tips on how to ask eg not appear too bothered but still irresistibly twinkly.

I remember so well my oldest son's first date. She stood him up and I wanted to kill her!!
And, Boleyngirl, my daughter's bedroom was disgusting - cups, plates, growing penicillin. Whenever her friends were coming round black bags of rubbish used to appear from her bedroom. She was truly awful and now she has 3 toilets and they're immaculate!!

I'm not allowed to cook except for roasts and take aways on account of the fact that I (apparently) have to use every single plate, bowl, utensil and kitchen gadget available - I also enjoy a drink whilst cooking (what me?!) and that tends to mean a longer process than is strictly necessary!

Can't comment on getting another pet, don't really do the whole animal thing myself but I think it's great how people do. However I do love being a daddy and seeing the kids all playing together so go for it bigman.

CLP I reckon Noah needs a little friend as well as his canine sister... I am an only child and when I was growing up all I ever wanted was a brother or sister! Wondering which 2 weeks in Oct you're off? I'm away the first week of Oct so need to know if I've got 49 drives home instead of 54!
Ginge good luck with your run, will definitely have a look at your page. I lost my Dad to Lung Cancer 7 and a half years ago and think Cancer Research is a brilliant cause. Hope you raise loads of cash..

Hi Chris, newbie here. I think a dog would be a jolly good idea. My daughter Bethan has a fantastic relationship with our collie/lab dog Alfie. They look after each other, very sweet. Congratulations on the breakfast show though I will miss you on the drivetimes. :-( :-)

Christophe go for a lovely bro or sis for the wonderful Noah - there are 22 months between my two - hard work when they were younger but oh so very close and at times seemed more like twins esp when the little un taught her older brother to have tantrums (oops that's not helping you really).
Seems so long ago esp as the elder one (son) got married in July. Time really does rush past as I can still picture him as Noah's age. It has been said many times before but enjoy every previous moment.

Have been to a blustery Blackpool this evening to see the illuminations, and very nice they were too! Although I don't think I've ever seen Blackpool so deserted.
Nice Fish n Chips in Bispham as well!
Just sitting up with the dog for a while, as he sulks if we don't, and trying to unwind from the trauma of Mr JG's driving on the way home.

No - one fat lady making an appearance.
Just had a bit of trouble on fb so as I was catching up with blog - texts and messages flying forth in this ere household. Like buses - all swans along for a while then in they come - in threes!!!!
Any road up - how are we all those still up? I see Ali back with us - phew buddy - was getting a bit worried there.
Loving all the new profile/sky/wedding/etc pics on fb - Just wish someone would do a tarrentino (sp) and do a decent pic of me (air brushed in other words)!!! I have a good heart tho' !!!! Well it's still palpitating anyway!

I can't see your issue with the blog meets either....I'm neither for or against them.
I doubt I shall ever get to one as time doesn't allow, I'm not fortunate enough to have the spare time that some of us on here make for them.
As Susan says though - nobody moans about the Togs meets and Terry both raves about and attends them.
If he started a blog tomorrow - would that disqualify him from them?
As for Clodagh - imitation is the sincerest form of flattery isn't it - you are really going to have to go some to get to that level!

Well, after a sleepless night I've just got back from a 5 mile power walk to clear the cobwebs - much needed, I can tell ya!
Loads to do today once I get to the fun factory but shall endeavour to plonk the odd post upon this ere blog. To keep my fans happy, you understand ..... ;-)

JG - thanks for asking - took more of the serious pain killers last night before bed - kept waking every couple of hours, having pins and needles down my arm - or in one case taking of my enaggement ring as it felt tight - and going back to sleep - had strange dreams about new job as well - I guess its just everything settling down in my mind!

A doctor on television this morning said that the way to achieve inner peace is to finish all the things you have started.
So, I looked around my house to see things I'd started and hadn't finished and, before leaving the house this morning I:-
finished off a bottle of Merlot;
finished off a bottle of shhhardonay;
fnished a bodle of Baileys;
findish a butleof vocka;
fished in a pockage of Prunglies, tha marinder of botl of Prozic and Valum pscriptins, the res of the Chesescke and a box a chocolets.

mSc - hmmm interesting idea, to get a cat instead of a dog. I'll certainly think about it. Did torment myself yesterday looking at the online profiles of some of the dogs up for rehoming in the local home. Some of them look so sad :-(
Rips - I'm a bodger DIYer . . .I have no idea what I'm doing, just make it up as I go along. And usually ruin half the tools while I'm doing it! Whenever my Dad's coming over to do anything for me now he brings his own screwdrivers as apparently I have ruined the threads on mine by being "cackhanded". Still got a job for me??
Am off now to do some serious online job searching. Am determined to be productive on my rest days . . .we'll see how long this lasts!

Re: the blog meets - I have to say that due to this blog I have made some really wonderful friends - and I mean real friends, not virtual. Mary, Daisy and Hazel have been there for me, and I am so grateful. I have met EG, Susan, Annie and Gail - lovely people who I hope to get to know better.
I can't remember whether it was Croc or Barney who said earlier on the blog that they did not think the original purpose of the blog was for people to meet up. When Chris first started writing his blog, he used to meet a few of his friends once a month - they called it the "Once a Month Club". This is where the very first blog meet originated from. Chris did not think it was a good idea - he said so on the blog, but we went ahead anyway. And I think even Chris would agree now that it can only be a good thing! What on earth can be wrong in meeting new people, and making new friendships?
It's not everyone's cup of tea, and that's fine but let's just understand that we're all different.
Croc: I think the pot shots at Cheryl are completely uncalled for and as for trying to imitate Clodagh: you'll be waiting a very long time before you get a mention in a Terry Wogan book!

The sunshiiiiine is streaming through the windows of KWtowers today, what a glorious morning. Awaiting some calls today re our house move, new school for #1 son etc, all very tense/exciting I guess. Mid October is a possible for the box packing etc.

I've met a couple of people from this blog, the divine Baggy and the delicious gaby when I was in Reading a while back. It was a most lovely lunch, we chatted, laughed and speculated on what all the other bloggers would be like. Mr Baggy was there too - top bloke he is as well. I have chosen not to attend any others since mainly due to work.
A few of you are coming to our fine city in a few weeks which I am looking forward to. Em and missy have said they will be there, I have met them also in and around the area, mighty lovely they are too.
It may turn out not to be my cup of tea or I may have a whale of a time - who knows?
Each to their own, you can never have too many friends anyway - be they real, virtual, imaginary, famous or good old fantasy
Off to gym inabit, then a kip before my night shifts begin this week. Will try to pop in as and when. Will deffo be back before Sunday though, and for sure with a post-run report (If anyone has a set of bellows please send them to The Sandringham Estate, Norfolk for this Sunday - I may need air inserting in my body!!!!)

Without getting too deep, earlier this year I wasn't at all well and ChrissieS's support was wonderful to have during a very dark time for me and no doubt aided my recovery and continues to do so (thank you Chrissie, mwah). I would not have found such a lovely friend if it wasn't for this blog (thank you Chris)in the first instance and secondly a special fella called Moose.
Please can we stop the negativity and all be happy. The negative comments are what stops me from posting on here very often.

Well, mid oven cleaning, looked out of kitchen window, what did I see??
My wild/but semi tame rabbit Skippy cheerfully leaping around the garden.
She has an outdoor run and the end flap hadnt been secured.
Have spent the last half hour sprinting, yes, picture that those that know me,between 3 neighbours gardens armed with a large net and the other rabbit under one arm as enticement!!
Have dragged myself through several hedges and have the scratches to prove it.
Finally caught her after she jumped back into cage,Hmphhhh!!
We have had her for nearly 6 years now and I would be devastated if she ended up as Mr foxs' lunch.
Calm restored now, just off to lick me wounds and check blood pressure.
Reckon I must have matched you in the 5 miles Deevs!
