Morning Tuesday folks.

Chris Evans | 08:43 UK time, Tuesday, 7 July 2009

When I said yesterday that good actions deliver extra energy, well there is obviously a time limit to that; as last night I arrived home at 8.20 and both Tash and I were in bed by 9.30.

We were pooped to say the least and just had to retire - none of this however before we had devoured two amazing rib eye steaks, marinated in freshly squeezed lime and olive oil before being mercilessly pan fried in a sizzling sensation of heat and smoke - it's the only way.

Going to bed early achieves many things almost exclusively all good, especially deliverance from the chocolate monster - unless that is just moments after you think you have escaped him you hear the words - "hey babe look what I found in the fridge" at which point a largely untouched and already opened family size bag of Maltesers is plonked on the bed and five minutes later seems to have mysteriously disappeared into our bellies.

That said an early night is still a Godsend and especially on a Monday ahead of the thick end of another crazy week on planet Earth.

And here's the mad bit - Noah slept all the way through. That is all the way for the first time ever ! Tash woke up this morning in disbelief feeling like a million dollars. We both rushed into the little man's room to make sure he was ok, and there he was wide awake with a big smile on his face but quiet as a mouse - now what's that all about? Children indeed.

Have a very exciting day today as my best mate's gf is due to have her C section at 10am at the hospital in Andorra la Vella this morning!!!! They're expecting a baby girl and it's their first. My BM is 52 so this is going to be a huge life changing event though right at the moment he seems to think that itshouldn't make that much difference to their lifestyle... we'll see!!

It sounded like CLP & the team and the lucky winners had the time of their lives over the weekend. Somehow I don't think I'll be quite in the league to bid this year but it's good to dream...

and that first sleep through the night is very odd, i agree! have done that rush into the room to check they are breathing thing myself and they just lie there laughing at you!!

I always SAY I am going to have early nights but it always ends up being 11pm at least before I make it! then if i have a good book on the go it's fatal -sometimes I think I should restrict reading to the weekends and holidays!!

there are things to be said for having kids at any age - I think you give them different things if you are older/younger. My only worry is that if people are lots older (eg mothers who have them by IVF at 60) the kids will have lost their parents when they are quite young adults. At 42 I still think I would be young to lose one of mine now! And Lyndy - 42 isn't old these days!!! (except when you have to run in the mother's race at sports day like i'm going to have to tomorrow!!)

Re the whole older parents thing, my dad was 52 when I was born, and took early retirement when I was at primary school, which meant he was always free to take me to school etc. He passed away when I was 21 and in my penultimate year of Uni, it's horrible to lose a parent at that age (and at any age) so he has missed a lot of my life (iam 29 now). But hey, as scantily said there's never a right age to have a child, think in the case of my parents it was once they had met the right person.

Alwight CLP And Every Blog Operatative,

    Bingo Star ere......

CLP - My goodness CLP.... the very last word of your blog.... I like it very much.... instead of Children In Need..... yuv changed it to Children....... INDEED!!!!!!!!!!
I like it...... I like it pal!!!!!!! I like this alot!!!!
The 'INDEED' word is spreading ter all areas!!!!! Everybody seems to be using this word..... I really think it's about time it should be recognised and INDEED, INDEED put in the next Oxford Dictionary!!!!!

Been looooking at yer Dine And Disco photos CLP and my fav iz the #34 one!!!!! A man in total DJ on air concetration.... a 'ope the controller of R2 iz seeing these photos and INDEED this one in question, aka the #34 one!!!!! PS Damn nice shorts/ shirt and 'at!!!!! And shades!!!!!
Still wondering about/ why/ the reason for the many 'white' Ferraris..... goot me thinking.... iz it that you are lining up in the line up a back up plan ter start a wedding car business if the radio thing goes ape????
Just trying ter analise the situation... a find it interesting.... analising situations!!!!!

A used ter like white.... in fact my dream car, or one of them, when a was younger- 14 ish, waz ter own a Diamond White Ford Sierra Sapphire Cosworth.... a just thought white suited that car... some colours on certain cars loook better than on others!!!!

Also CLP, glad all the cars came 'ome safely.... shame though about the burnt out clutch on the F40... probally 7 ter 10k for a new one!!!!!!!
Reminds me of my Lotus a used ter ave.... very similar ter the F40 except the Lotus 1350kg.... the F40 1100kg... so lighter and on top of that.... 349bhp on me Lotus.... against 470 or iz it 479bhp for the F40???
(What's 9bhp between car discussions!!!) The fact that both cars ave a V8 twin turbo makes them very similar but the lighter weight of the F40 and extra power from it's BIGGER turbos iz what gives it that extra acceleration.... Lotus 0-60 4.5/ 0-100 10.5 but the F40 faster at 0-60 3.8/ 0-100 8.6 and racing versions even faster!!!!!!!!!@!!!@! (soz all ter bore all with the in depth crudentials of the cars in question)
I'd love ter ave a go of an F40!!!!
A nearly burnt the clutch out on me Lotus accelerating too fast!!!! A used ter practice accelerating 0 ter 100/ 120 az fast az a could.... love the feeling of driving such a powerful car!!!! (PS Noot on the public roads of course) Still slow though, compared to an F1 car!!!!!
A admit a was nervous when a first bought the Lotus az i'd never owned such a powerful car!!!
It's good though ter be respectful to such cars... probally why ave never 'ad an accident or INDEED nearly 'ad one az a always drive safely/ within the limits of the car and the road conditions!!!!!
A found a goot used ter the Lotus and found it abit slow..... felt a needed more power!!! Proved to mesen maybe a am capable of driving a proper racing car.... sure i'd get used to it!!!!! Just wish a 'ad the money ter race!!!! Mind you wouldn't be fit enough ter drive in F1.... need ter build up neck!!!! Soz sound like a sad dreamer know, sorry now!!!!
Used ter arrive 'ome sometimes with smoke coming off me brakes and a burning smeeeell from the clutch.... time ter ease off before it burns out!!!!! Which brings me back ter the clutch going on the F40.... easily done!!!!
Although a get the feeling it's noot driving fast that burnt it out at the Drivetime drive!!!!! LOL!!!

Soz ter go on about me Lotus but ter me this waz a total dream.... sad but when yer don't ave alotta money ter get such a car waz amazing ter me.... i'll never forget the experience and 'opefully if things come good in the future, i'd defo buy another!!!!!
Just shame i'll never prove me racing talent, deep inside a think a ave!!!!!
Don't mean ter sound egotistical or a sad dreamer but it's 'ard ter live with when yer think yuv gotta 'idden talents but can't realise it!!!!
It's like golf.... only 500 quid for a good setta clubs but a 'aven't goot the full talent with golf... am awesome with putting/ short game but can't get the swing correct!!!!!! VERY frustraiting!!!!
Typical am a total natural at driving but it's 400k for a season in touring cars or millions for F1!!!!!!
Trust me ter pick the most expensive sport when am from a council 'ouse single parent family.... story of me DAMN life all!!!!!!!!

Seriously though.... soz ter talk too much about cars.... or INDEED meself.... sounds so bad, ain't it!!!!!!!
The important bit ere/ iz/ waz ter raise money for children..... and INDEED Children In Need!!!!!!
Great that nearly 'alf a million waz raised from all the Dine And Disco/ Mag 7 Drive...... worth every penny just ter see Jono S 'it the decks on the disco!!!!!!
A tryed ter bid mesen for a place but couldn't afford the going rate.... so just gave what a could instead ter the C.I.N radio marathon!!!!!

PS - Did the Nigel Bardon get through the event without any injuries?????? LOL!!! If so.... 'ow come???

PS CLP - A notice the Coburn noot white!!!!! AYE!!!
My advice.... CLP why noot pop inter 'alfords and get a few tins of Ford Diamond White spray????@??? It could be the world's only Ford White Coburn!!!!!!Glad ter off 'elpful advice!!!!!
A once sprayed the bumpers of me black 900cc Fiat Panda silver.... loooked wild!!!!!! Used ter deliver pizzas in it!!!!

PPS CLP - Also a notice in the photos of the Coburn.... the rear loooks very unlike yer typical Ferrari but like an MG RV8/ Roadster but more so like the RV8!!!
Goot me thinking.... wonder if MG copied the design of the Coburn California abit?????? Interesting observations don't yer wreckon CLP????

    GOURANGA ALL CAR ENTHUSIASTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PPPPS Finally... one final thing a need answers too..... if there were 7 couples driving the magnificent 7..... and you CLP were on the drive too..... what were you driving.... yer F430????????
If so i'd call it more mag 8!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Howya fellas!

Haven't been catchin' up since I got here in lovely Norn Ireland, so here's me note.

Anyway, sounds like DTDAD was a total blast, can't wait to look at t' snaps.

However. Just popped on here quickly to report that me head has finally exploded. Am officially bonkers.

Have been rushin' around like the proverbial blue-a**ed fly all week, when yesterday, it happened. OK, it was warm and I was stood standin' in bright sunshine beneath a large glass atrium, rather like the biggest greenhouse in the world, but suddenly, mid-conversation with the GBF, a wave of nausea came over me and the place started to spin. Realising I was possibly going to faint, I went to sit on the floor, (GBF was delighted; thought it was going to be a Rocky Horror moment), anyway, not wanting to cause panic, I muttered something to himself about needing the loo and headed for some seats about 20 yards away.

Never made it. Next thing I know, I'm being stared at from above by a (rather delicious) young man whose voice I couldn't hear above what I thought was the noise of low-flying aircraft, and everything went white. Not black, white. What's all that about. Ah NO, thinks I. I'm deed, am goin' to meet me maker and the last person I see on this mortal coil will be Damian. Bugger. I wanted the full bedside routine, everybody wailin' an' devastated as I drew me last, all soft-focus and shrouded in designer gossamer, not in a ruddy shoppin' centre surrounded by eejits and wearin' Primark sandals with me toenail varnish all chipped.

Anyway, the delicious young man, who happened to be a doctor, sorted me out and made me drink a small pond of water before convincing Damian to send for the ambulance, not the Fire Brigade. Any excuse as far as he's concerned bless 'im. So I felt right peculiar for a few hours, couldn't speak or see properly but now all is well.

Thing is this. It's been very heavy weather over here, threatening thunderstorms; and as a migraine sufferer, I've noticed that this is the time I'll get them. And so I'm wondering; does anyone else have this experience?

Ergo, I only told the GD what happened about an hour ago, and of course, she was interrogating me about exactly what happened. And I told her the story about the time when she was a Small Genius, in fact about the same age as young Noah.

I'd just put her down in her cot for her afternoon nap, when I got the dreaded tunnel-vision, and started to feel numb down the side of my face. A migraine. In those days, I used to get them badly, with the excruciating pain that accompanies them, and the only thing for it was to throw strong painkillers down my neck pronto before the sickness set in. Anyway, long story short, I was in a bad way, and after 12 hours was given a strong sedative by the doc and slept for a further 24 hours.

And this is the wierd thing. The then hubby told me later that, to his astonishment, the baby GD just slept alongside me, he just fed and changed her a couple of times, and she slept peacefully there right next to me for all those hours until normal service was restored.

How cool is that. These babies, see. They know EVERYthing. Babies rule the world.

Any road up. Rips, how was that hotel? I hope it wasn't scaldy; I haven't stayed there myself and was a bit worried to be honest. Anyway, yous is big and daft enough to deal with it if it was Fawlty Towers I'm sure.

Right. Bath beckons. And new nail varnish. Renee was right. Always wear a clean vest and knickers in case you get run over.

My computer has decided not to let me overwrite mistakes, but Ican't see any OVR button, any ideas?

No what you mean about becoming a lady. I have spent more time on looking and feeling good, including working out, in the last 6 months than ever before in my 44 year old life. Never EVER thought I would appreciate cosmetic samples, wedding magazines (I've got 6 months worth if anyone's thinking of taking the plunge) fabric shops and sparkly shoes to name a few.

    One for Baggie.

    Beep.

I haven't caught up much today, but this morning you sounded pretty down.

The corniest line of all is 'I know how you feel', but I really do.

Without dragging my state of mind into this too much, I have been through a very introspective time lately, part of my ongoing self-analysis that has been part of my life for the past 20 or so years.

I've been to the edge, had a peek, and bottled it. Thankfully. But that was a while ago, and for a few years I've had my moments, but kept my feet on terra firma.

See, I'm really a lucky git. I've got a fantastic wife, a few quid and the freedom that a childless life brings. I'm not saying that is best, but it suits us. But, I am a worrier, and so are you. I also get very stressed, and so do you.

I went out walking in the rain this evening. It is a really cleansing experience, mentally, I mean. I even began to compose some words, stuff about rain, and easing the pain, bits about rainbows, you know, the normal drivel. But it made me feel better, more positive.

I don't really know where I am going with this, other than some of us feel the pain too, and you have to find your own ways to deal with it. Much as I am a shy, private person, I find talking to people a therapy, as well as being creative. Write a song, or a poem, or paint or draw. It doesn't matter what you talk about, or if your creations are not so great, it is the outlet and the expression that is important.

A bit like coming here really.

I hope you find your river. Yep, another one of my faves. Did you like Thank You?

    And, one more thing.

Catching up on Masterchef from the other day, I noticed a chef in a London eatery tell the 'celeb' that they had to make an extra effort as the diner was a 'VIP'.

    Hang on.

Surely, every guest is a VIP? Why would you make more effort for one person because they spend a few quid, than for someone who had never been before?

We once went to Spago, Beverly Hills. Yeah, I know, posh, celebrity, expensive...., but we wanted to have a quick look to see what life was like on the other side.

Midway through the meal, chef-proprieter, Wolfgang Puck came to our table and spent several minutes asking us how things were, did we like the table, was there anything else we needed, etc. He then moved to the next table and spent the same amount of time with Steve Martin.

Two humble, English accountants, with a few quid to rub together felt very special that night, and will remember it for the rest of their lives.

Thank you for bearing with me tonight.

    Peace + love

    MfR

    Hi yet again.

Not much to report from here. The boss is up and doing her exercises. new craze for her. Something based on yoga, I think.
Madi, are you astmatic in that you haven't time to breathe. Emotions too much?/
Have a lie down and think of something nice and cheerful -always helps me.
There are a few birds outside who seem to be having a world championship wrestling match with next door's cats.
    Score: cats 1 birds -1
Oh well, darwin was right - survival of the fittest. Helps if you have 4 legs and the other poor bugger has 2.

I'm not feeling so great today either, I seem to be getting worse with the hayfever, even though it's cooler - weird.

I'm still not sleeping properly either, and this week, we're both trying to get out of the house by 7.15am, which is a nightmare! I'm the one who ends up being late due to sorting out the dog!

Anyhow, have a busy day ahead, loads of meetings, that I can't face, but have to.

    Hope you feel better SBP

Super sb - sorry you're not feeling that great, hope you get better as the day goes on.

Dee - I'll try lying down and thinking of something nice, and of course doing some breathing, just deep breathing not the heavy stuff!!!! Good for Sue doing her exercises, which reminds me I'm late!!!

Well, I Vogue'd my way to work this morning, once again ably assisted by Madge. How does she do it? Altho I think 50 is a bit old (personal opinion, of course) to be showing ones bits in a skimpy leotard.

Chez, am currently wearing skimpy leotard, but then am not showing bits, and am also not 50 either so must be ok?

Boss did look at me a bit askance though. Feel leotard and stripey tights may not be totally acceptable work wear. Legwarmers may be a tad over the top. Should perhaps move them slightly lower down.

Is practically impossible to type whilst doing Fame leaps about office.

Baz, they come in 100mg pills. I'd take one with breakfast and one with your evening meal. Try to start taking them about 24hrs before you fly, and take one just before you get on your flight too, else the b-s'll getcha as soon as you arrive and you won't even notice! Don't forget that they'll turn your pea green, but this isn't anything to be concerned about, I promise!

And don't use other repellants otherwise they'll mask the protection of the B1, and you may still get bit!!!

Have a lovely hols matey x
