It's getting better, he's getting stro-o-o-o-o-nger !

Chris Evans | 12:36 UK time, Wednesday, 11 February 2009

Doting dad day 2...

Sorry about this but what can you do? I woke up this morning and there he was again, the best little boy in the world.

I had to check to make sure it hasn't all been the most fabulous of dreams.

Noah is officially the nuts. He is the coolest of baby dudes. There is just something about him, he is, as Jonny says, a zen baby.

Thank you so much for the now thousands of messages of good will and good luck. Tash is overwhelmed by the warmth of your correspondence and is genuinely blown away.

We have printed off every single e-mai as they have arrived here and I am constantly ferrying them to the hospital.

The party on the radio last night was the most enjoyable show I've ever been involved in and also one of the most effortless.

The team, always first rate, surpassed themselves with their generosity of spirit and support from the office in the day, during the show at teatime and then afterwards when they took me for a "couple" of drinks and a big fat Sally Boazman-supplied Montechristo cigar.

I smoked it all by the way, even though it took me forty five minutes out in the freezing cold and I don't even like cigars but it was worth it, one of those occassions where it just had to be done.

Desperately trying to come back down to earth today but having major trouble with re-entry.

One more flash of those baby blues before he retires into the kingdom of kiddom.

Noah Evans

And he still hasn't cried!

Smoking a cigar with a couple of drinks after the birth is a man thing, and rightly so. I'm with you on that Christophe.

Don't come back down for a bit. Stay where you are. Enjoy it.

And watch that re-entry when you do finally come down from that cloud.

Remember where the last re-entry got you.....Daddy :-)

Have never posted before Chris - am an intermittent listener (only because of my work and my demanding toddler!) but have been waiting for news of the birth. Congratulations to you and Natasha - welcome to the rollercoaster that is a new baby! Sending you all the love in the world xxxx

P.S. Loving the pics, Noah looks like a very wise, all-knowing (albeit very small) old man yet he is just an ickle baby, how curious! He is gorgeous, making me broody - or at least I will be until my toddler starts playing up again!! :-)

  • Comment number 21.

Noah has got to be the most adorable little boy I've seen in a long time (my own two were both that gorgeous!)

Be careful though, they grow up and fast!!

  • Comment number 22.

Congratulations to you both! I don't normally write on blogs but the warmth and tangible, pure joy in Chris' voice was a delight on last nights show. Even my boys, Jake ,8 and Gus,5, were thrilled, especially Gus as Noah is his middle name.

Noah is a beautiful boy who will thrive with such obviously doting parents. Wow!

    Much love,

Many Congrats Chris and Tash on the mighty arrival of little Noah. From the photo, you guys have done very well!!

I've been reading and enjoying your blog since its humble beginnings... but alas never commented. However over the last few months have waited to see what you were gonna call the new baba. Don't ask me why, but I always had this strong feeling that you would choose a name similar to the name we chose for my five mth old son. Similar minds or great minds, Im not too sure, but we called our son Noah James John. Enjoy the little one guys..

"Noah, that is the 1961 Ferrari 250GT California. Less than a hundred were made. Your father spent three years restoring this car with all the money he stashed away in his post office account from the pittance those people at Radio 2 paid him.

It is his love, it is his passion........."

Noah:.........."It is his fault he didn't lock the garage Mum".

I thought to myself last night while watching the news that I really shouldn't bother with it anymore.

There is very rarely any good news on there, just sad or bad stories.

Look at how wonderful it has been sharing Chris and Tash's good news, totally uplifting.

We need more good news about, to remind us of the amazing parts of life, the things that make us smile.

    Just my opinion anyway :-)

Lucky Mummy & Daddy - muchos felicidades!
Tell Tash that I am pig-jealous - no way could I have managed dinner during labour, well not without killing the waiters and generally destroying the dining room!

Looking forward to the E-spot on Friday - will have a special meaning this week.

Noah has joined this great big family who are all watching out for him and wishing him the best.

He is a most gorgeous baby. I know I am not alone in wanting a cuddle with him - but then all babies make me feel that way - my baby is 13 and only wants one on her terms.

    Big love to the family.

    Hi all 3,

Just wanted to add my huge congratulations to all of you, plus all the happiness in the world of course.

I too have an aquarian zen boy child, although he is 25 now, his innate wisdom, inner peace and wisdom hasn't abandoned him since the day he was born and he has amazed me every single one of those days.

Before you think this is going to deteriorate into a mothers tale of embarassing adolation, please know that in those 25 years we have had our ups and downs, some more serious than others but there remains a very settled and wise quality about him that the nurses commented about on the day he was born.

I count myself as very, very lucky and hope that you both experience as much love and happiness from your son as mine has brought me.

    Love and Peace xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

#20 Lovenhope...loving your 'old man' comment! I mentioned to my friend yesterday that Noah is the first baby I have ever seen that didn't look like Winston Churchill!

Anyhoo, it would appear that the reason I couldn't open this earlier is because the pic was too hooge...maybe that's just a reflection of the size of the space he has in your heart Christophe!

We celebrated with you with kebabs and beer...one of the old Evans traditions I seem to remember...I hope you don't mind, but needs must 'n' all that!

ps talk about a roller coaster. At very short notice we have to move the Sett. Just another thing that was going on yesterday. Within fourteen days. I'm having a look at somewhere else tonight, and I think we'll take it. Even if it's a rat-infested fleapit with mould on the walls. The Badger should fit right in...heh heh heh!

    Argh Mr Evans,
Just read yesterdays blog and saw that little Noah had the cord round him a couple of times, our little man had that as well when he popped out last year.......... the little toe-rag!!
Anyway, make sure you stay on that high as long as you can, the sleepless nights in the coming months soon take it away!!
