You know, the more I think about...
...Terry and Aled getting to be the Chrissy number one, the more I think it has to happen.
A: It's an excellent song with the kind of message we could do with right now
B: Terry and Aled have done a smashing job with it, their voices go spookily well together, dare I say, better than the original !
C: Simon Cowell, although a genius, cannot have it all his own way. The odd bit of quality control never goes a miss.
So tonight the campaign continues but here's the thing. Next week I am away, so it really will be up to you lot to keep this thing going. Of course I will be more than happy to pick up the reins when I return but you will have to bridge the gap. These things are all about energy and once they stop it's almost impossible to get them going again.
And here's the thing, it's no good just telling each other about the boys, you have to spread the word much further afield. Also remember to be imaginative in the process.
Terry's warming up to the cause, he mentioned it several times on his show this morning but please keep cajoling him along. Also don't forget, the name of his producer is Alan Boyd. The funnier the text or e mail, the more chance of him pushing it Terry's way.

Please save us from the dreaded EGGS FACTOR this CHRISTMAS, I for one can't stand the blasted things, block me right up they do.

Tried to email sir tel last night and my laptop went bonkers so decided just for once to turn off and go to bed before midnight - well a couple of minutes before anyway! Will try again today.

And how chuffed are we that our campaign is working! It gets so boring having Simon’s manufactured pop at No1 every year, as I just said to Alan Boyd in my email (will he call me a stalker if I email him every day!?) - it’s about time that we had a song that reflected the spirit and ethos of Christmas. Oh, and having my email read out by Sir Tel really made up for just getting 3 hours sleep!!! So, rest assured, we will keep it going next week! And I know you don’t rate Facebook and the such, bout we have already got working on there too!!

really, and i mean REALLY annoyed at the Sarge fiasco. Yes he has honourably fallen on his sword but I fear the judges hands helped him fall abit quicker!

Hay Fever : As it is November I thought it the perfect time of year to offer some help with this most common complaint my dearies.
Honey my little honeys works very well for hay fever. But also nettle has an effective chemical... just watch the sting.. hahahhahahehe... I am so funny at times my dears!
Self Hypnosis can be effect but difficult to implement.
Capsaicin, a chemical found in hot chillies is good too, but you may have to go to Chillie or Tescos to get some... hahahhe!
Butterbur also known as Petasites Hybridus is effective too, available in capsules from me!
Or try onions also a most powerful but natural remedy! But be warned, my dearies, can end relationships!
Sublingual Immunotherapy (or known as slit for short) is a very effective form of droplets placed under the tongue but you may need to contact your friendly GP for this.
My final remedy... avoid pollen!

Afternoon everyone - just sneaking in under the radar.....
I heard in the restaurant at lunchtime that John Sargeant had resigned from Strictly - what a shame but he is pure entertainment personified.
I also emailed Terry this morning but no email read out for me ..... :( (that's a sad face honest).
As soon as we can find out where we can download said track - I will be able to purchase it. I have requested said album already. Helen Bach is on the Togs cruise at present so we can't get hold of her to enquire about getting it released so that means Terry and Aled - (has Aled an email address as well as Alan Boyd?) Radio 2 message boards will be used as well as FB.

Having caught up I feel slightly more useless than usual.
Being a typical man (well I like to think so anyway) I know nothing of fashion and bow to Gingembre's knowledge ...... although SBP are you sure purple and red go together?
The only thing I know about IACGMOOH is what the letters stand for (did take me 10 mins to work it out though).

Flower...how good is Merlin...loving it! I speshully like the way that Morgana can go between wearing absolutely no make-up whatsoever in one scene, to being so slapped in the next one...it is just a distraction, obviously, to my HUGE enjoyment of the series. Loved the Dark Knight last week...very Darth Vader!! And have you noticed how the Dragon twitches his upper lip? Reminds me of a friend of ours...but you wouldn't know her......and then there is Nimoeh. Just makes me wanna sing 'in the jungle, the mighty jungle etc etc a nimoeh a nimoeh'...mind you, she's superb in it!

Jovial - not had a holiday for years! and when I do go away - work from there! Sad iniit!!
Bagpuss still don't like the idea of red and plum - although they do a nice tweed in those colours mixed with brown!!! Check out #7!!!
and I can't stand soaps except Friends but then they broke the mould after that series. and as for non celebs eating bugs and stuff yuk!

Lo sundry bloggers galore, seems like you're having blast, now please some sympathy for me.
I was half way through practising "Christmas performance" singing this morning and the children were working so hard I thought they deserved a bit of fun. So we sang Jump Down Turn Around Pick a bale of Cotton" with the relevent actions. I got a bit carried away and shouted "Let's do it a bit faster". A minute later, felt a twang in me back and now I can hardly move. Haven't had this for years, hoped I'd grown out of it, seems I'm growing in to it.
Flippin fed up. That'll teach me to hurl myself around without a suitable warm-up.

Been finding it kinda hard to keep up with the blog this week, moves so bloomin' fast some days!!

Dragon - chilli powder or cayenne pepper is the thing to keep the squirrels clear so it was said over here last week.
Even of theuy do eat it at least they are ready marinaded so you can catch and eat them.

Not sure I can chip much in to this conversation this evening.
I don't really watch much telly, so I don't have a list of favourite shows, other than the foodie ones (Jamie at Home, Bill's Food, some of the Ramsay stuff - although not this latest tripe he is churning out on a Friday while we're all getting hammered in here) or Top Gear, although I'll put the latter down to 'research' - you know what line of business I'm in.
And as a result of not being constantly glued to the goggle-box I haven't a clue about this Strictly Sequined Celebrity Getting Jiggy With It thing either.
So now that I am officially on holiday for a few days, if you'll excuse me I'll just perch myself at the end of the bar and have another pint and a packet of dry roasted.

Never fear Lambie Pie. Clodagh Rubbish is back in Blighty aboard HMS Centrifuge from next Tuesday and will be on the case to the Togmeister. I haven't even heard said song but am sure it's marvellously dreadful. Anyway, what with all this broo-ha ha re. Jo Brand's identical twin, John Sergeant, I reckon the time is right.
On that subject, doesn't Arlene Phillips realise that throwing hissy fits about himself and the obvious philistines that are the viewing public (hmm) is guaranteed to get the votes pouring in? Shut UP, woman.
Anyway I'm voting Austin. On the grounds I myself have danced a tango with himself when he was a gobby little tadpole and I was a bit of an outrageous old slapper. Oh yes. Well, I say Tango. This was back in the days when we used to frequent a particular nightclub in Wigan which Loaded magazine once referred to as being remeniscent of the Birthplace of Christ. And in those days we didn't so much resemble Austin and Erin as Hylda Baker and Cynthia with a couple of beer bottle microphones and ties round our heads.

And re. Gok's big knickers. Having once ill-advisedly winched myself into a pair of said Bodyshapers, can I just pass on some advice. When going for a wee, don't pull 'em up too vigorously or you'll be in danger of twangin' yourself up like the inside of a golf ball and ricocheting round the cubicle. And don't even try to remove 'em at the end of the evening, I've still got the scar on me forehead where I careered into the wardrobe door with both me legs trussed up like a self-bastin' broiler.
And as for the ones designed by Tranny and Bagaspanners, all I can say is if you enjoy wearin' a wetsuit under your slinky chiffon number, go ahead. Reminds me of my old granny in her coms with the flap hangin' down. Not attractive.

CtD: Big Knickers - a friend bought the hold everything in ones for an evening out. She couldn't eat her dinner, couldn't go to the loo, couldn't get them off and the end of night and said they made her knees look fat!! She recycled them straight into the bin.
Have been looking after poorly 3 yr old all afternoon, overdosed on babies telly so am off to bed soon.
Thanks BsMum and Suse for keeping me company last night. Daughter-in-law now looking more normal and less lobster-like.

Going to do some serious gym stuff tomorrow and then meet my best mate for a pint late afternoon.

First, just to say I had such a lovely time with Amanda today. What a great girl she is - we had a terrific time! How amazing it is that I have met her, Mary, Susan and EG, courtesy of CLP! Hope I get to meet a few more of you, in time!
Well, can you imagine ..... it is devastation at Chez ChrissieS tonight. John has gone - I am bereft. Well, either that, or I am seriously cheesed off. Thank you B-smum and Hazel - very kind!
I can see his point, the "crazy people" out there were in danger of voting him to win the show. I do not (hopefully) put myself in that category, but I am so sorry to see him go. I think Arlene Phillips should hang her head in shame.
So, this Saturday is the last Strictly for me. I will watch John say goodbye, and I really wish everyone else left on the show the very best (Austin to win) but I have to vote with my remote, so it will be back into the kitchen with MrS and those fairy lights for the next few Saturdays!!

Well done to England last night, nice to see a bit of effort and pride for the jersey. Me thinks Capello has them all right where he wants 'em. Top stuff. Great to see the skipper come out at the end and hold his hands up for the mistake made too.
I don't have one best friend that I could single out, I'm very lucky to have 3 or 4 really close mates who have been there since school. This lunchtime we'll all be gathering together shoulder to shoulder as one of them sadly lost his mother last week and today is her funeral. No words will suffice but he'll know we're all right beside him and his family should we be needed.

First job - Joined the Civil Service straight from school at 16 (still there), worked in a post room at a now defunct site!
Favourite job - 6 weeks work in the US supporting the UK Forces on a combined UK/US military exercise. Worked hard, played hard, in office at 6 every morning finishing at 6 most nights, then leaving the bar at 2 most mornings! Varied fast ball taskings and responses needed yesterday! It was great fun but extremely tiring!

Ed bryne - he was great - a really good show - I was in stiches from beginning to end! I was sat at the front and towards the end we had a bit if a chat - him on stage - me front row and then after that he recognised me and Mr Bp from last time round - jumped off the (2 foot) stage and came a shock my hand and said hi - it meant a lot to me as he wasn't doind autographs/photos after as there was someone there who wants to make a DVD of him. Still smiling today - Ed Byrne jumping of the stage and coming to me to shake my hand - loved it

My first job, started at 17 was a catering general assistant for Wiltshire Police at DHQ in Swindon. Was there 5 & a half years in the end, loved that job!
As you probably know from my various ramblings, my current job is my favourite, I love books so am in my element here!

Best job - i did three months in internal audit and got to travel the country looking at stuff that i wouldn't normally be allowed too - it was great for three months but probably not so fun full time
also did kiosk work at a leading supermarket while at school - that was great as we were all friends and went drinking after work - and then my time at the council was fun - i think a job is more about the people then what you do

Blimey that was a busy evening/night. Looks like you had fun.
My first job was a summer job after I'd finished my A levels - I was a cleaner at Sunderland Hospital. It sounds horrible but I had a whale (wail?) of a time, although some of the real cleaners weren't keen on us students because we didn't pay tax. I loved chatting to the patients and bringing the tea round. Not so keen on the toilet side of things but you have to take the rough with the smooth.
I had 2 days training and learned how to mop in a figure of 8 and to this day I can't let anyone else mop me floors as I am a trained expert. Not too good with the floor machine, my brain couldn't compute the fact that if you take your hands off the buttons it stops, so it used to take me flying along with it, crashing into everything.
The best bit was cleaning the doctors' residence, got chatted up the whole time!
Off with me back, am walking like me mam on a sprightly day. Not ready for the big needles yet though, thanks Chrissie all the same...

Good Morning Each,
Shorty, 1st job and the best by a mile, Matelot,joined the Royal Navy straight from school.
Had the best 9 years of my life and was lucky to be involved in 2 show the flag tours.
Started out on Frigates and finshed on carriers, Hermes and Ark Royal,joined in 72,out in 81.
Current job 2nd best though, Operations Manager of the integration team @ GE Aviation.

Best job? That's a toughie. I guess for sheer entertainment value, I really, really enjoyed working behind the bar in the local pub near to where I used to live. It was the late 1980s, I was about 21 and the jukebox used to churn out the Blues Brothers soundtrack, Radar Love, Down Down, loads of T-Rex ....... only did Friday nights, Saturday nights and Sunday lunchtimes and inevitably Saturday nights would end up round someone's house for an inpromptu party. I remember one night at chucking out time being surrounded by the "gawjus in crowd" of lads and serenaded to You've Lost That Loving Feeling (from Top Gun soundtrack) purely because I was trying to shut up shop for the night! The timing in my life was right, and I had a blast!
First job was for a propery letting agency. I'd had to conform my my teen-goth image to this little miss office ready and hated it with a passion. i was on 55 quid a week, and with my first wage packet I went to the local Co-Op and purchased a stack stereo system for my bedroom - mum went ballistic!!

I have also worked in a spit and sawdust pub and loved it - and they liked me too - happy days
In order to get wogan/jones song to number one we have to buy in bulk but consistently - so how about this

Hiya JTT were you by any chance on the ARK along with the fleet that came into HK for the first time in 30 yrs sometime 1980/81?
I have a lovely black and white photo in my hall of it's arrival.
My first job was saturday girl at the local library - where I met the books of Terry Pratchett and Anne MacCaffrey and have been hooked ever since.
My favourite was the 10 yrs service in the Army - I only visited the UK for 10 months in 10 yrs and had a ball.

Have you tried a Chiropractor, They sorted by back out and have not had any problems for years except for the odd twinge,shame everything else is falling apart though.
Back in the late 80s I was married with 2 young children and we had a Bullmastiff , Gus,he was a great character and adored the children.
But he was a very large and powerfull animal,my young son used to ride on his back holding his ears they both loved it.
However when taking him out one evening I was not paying due attention when something startled hom and he spun me round 360 degrees,the following morning I was unable to get out of bed.
I remained there for over a month,tried everything inc painkillers,went back to work but still struggling and the painkillers were sending me to sleep.
Someone suggested seeing a Chiropractor so I made an appointment.
The first thing they do is take xrays and on my second visit I was asked to lie down on this wooden rack contraption where I was manipulated in places I did,nt know existed.
To be truthfull they do pull you about and crack a lot of bones and when the treatment was over I could barely slide off the thing.
But the next day I swear to you I felt like a new man, and have been back pain free from that day to this.x

The old Ark used to roll about like Cyril Smith on a waterbed.

Yes HK was really good in the 80s and I got to stay there twice for 4 yrs in total - don't particularly like what has happened to it since 1997 and have no inclination to go back.
I also spent some time in Singapore - really enjoyed my stay.
I have some great memories and even last night two more old friends have cropped up on friends site and I haven't spoken to them in 20 yrs what a time.

Always seem to be playing catch up......... saw the discussion about first/best jobs and totally agree about the joys of being a part-time barmaid when you're young - but I'd hate to do it now (shades of Bet Lynch appear when you get past that 'certain age').
Best job was being a staff trainer for a big organisation some years ago, when we did 4 long days but finished work at lunchtime every Friday and went off to the pub. FAWC rather than FNWC rules for me!

Have been an unactive lurker for a few days...and wanna just say - WELL DONE! Was listening to the show last night and shouted `yes` out loud when Aled said about it being released! Think the bloke in the next car wondered what i was on!
Best job... dept manager for a very well known high st store.New flagship store opened with a very young m`ment team all round. Living 40 miles away used to stay at colleagues house on a regular basis, about 5 of us m`ment team used to go out and then take it in turns in the sick bay sleeping it off the next day.... AND we had a very successful store although to this day i have NO idea how! Dont work for the company now but happy days indeed...although one suspects i wouldnt have a job nowadays if we`d been caught!
Oh, and very late suggestion for the pub name..` The Gym`. Nothing to do with bloggers etc but always wanted to be able to say.. `off to The Gym for a quick session` and mean the pint variety and not the hurty variety!
Anyhoo...not here..so catch up with u mad,crazy,lovey,fantastic etc etc lot later..

To be honest, I don’t know if any of my jobs are my favourite. I’m still looking for a job that I can say that about!! Isn’t it funny that often it’s not the job with the most money or at the highest position that thrills us.

morning, afternoon everyone,
cool start to the day today, no snow but there's more on the wat tonight. currently I am at the garage getting the snow tyres out on. there's a two hour wait....groan... better that tgan slipping on the roads....

My boss is actually a really nice and the engineer i work closely with is off today, so i've been asked to go into a meeting with a big boss man from the customers office ... on my own. He should have been here .... 16 miutes ago. great.

All caught up with the blog now, my you're a chatty bunch (that was chatty not catty!)
My first job was for an oil exploration company as Office Dogsbody, earning £3,750 a year - seriously! Got made redundant due to the oil crisis in 1986.
Fav job was travelling Europe attending exhibitions for a publishing company, got made redundant from that as well!!

Afternoon all, a special thank you to Jovial Steve (Jovial is such a great way to be and I am imagining you saying "That's tip top" all the time) for your chiropracter advice. This has been suggested to me before, but while yours is such a positive story I have also heard slightly scary ones and I am such a woose (sp?). Anyway thanks again (if the Diva has left you in any fit state to read). The pills have kicked in now so I just feel numb, brainwise too.

Just need to add my Chiropractor experience... having had a nasty riding accident when i was 18 my back and hips have never been the same. Tried everything, physio, traction, you name it. Then someone rec Chiro...and it is the BEST thing ever. Yes, it can hurt like h**l when they are doing it and the cracks and sounds that come out of ur mouth are not for here but it works! I now have my back in as good a condition as it will get and i only go once every 3 mths or so to keep `topped` up as it were.... go do it - u wont regret it!

LOL Boleyngirl, your daughter sounds just like mine!!! And love the 'tidying away' expression - I've done quite a bit of that in my time. Worst (or should that be best?) thing I've ever tidied away was a pair of short emerald green shorts. What was he thinking of????
On second thoughts as he dumped me I should have let him keep them!!!

Bloody hell Beezer what did you buy?
Phoenix, I hang my head in shame as on this occasion ONLY I was asked (told)about the tie over a week ago. I've never dyed a thing in me life, only tie die in the guides, I might buy some if I'm desperate.

Hiya folks - don't worry I'm here!! Just had market research phone call that lasted over 30mins! and am doing non computer related work today - yes pen and paper stuff!!!
Mr. Egg was away at 2.30 this morning and didn't reapear until 11.30 (and he had my truck!!!) so didn't get to work till after 12 - and trying to get this manual stuff out of my way.
