BBC TRUST REPORT OUT ... PRIME MINISTER ON THE FLOOR ABOVE...

Just another normal day at the office...

... though what I like about Fridays -

I sort of get the morning off. Today I spent it with a lovely man who knows a shed load about old Ferraris. Meant to stay there for half an hour, ended up being late for the rest of my day.

Ho hum... arrived in work ahead of the P.M. Everyone seems to be extraordinarily relaxed about his arrival. I'll try and join in the cool mood but I'm not very good at it. Right so, er... well yes, here we are then.

But I've just heard Sir Michael Lyons on Jeremy's show and looks like we still all have jobs ! Hurrah.

Listen you lot, it has been a strange few weeks. A strange few weeks that I thought were coming to an end until Enzo's passing on Monday and then Terry's song going crazy from Tuesday onwards and then all the internal goings on today. To be honest with you I'm a bit emotionally spent. Off next week though and back with a bang for three Christmas cracking weeks. I know it's not a real job but my head's a bit fuzzy nonetheless.

So, look after yourselves you lot.

Don't Let The Sun Go Down On You.

CLP.

2008.

Just skimmed the posts, CLP I'm not surprised you're cream crackered, have a lovely break and come back ready for Christmas!

How's this for a bit of pressure selling - on the spur of the moment I taught "Little Drummer Boy" to my year 2s this avo, they hadn't heard it (think most of their parents are radio 1 listeners!) but now they LOVE it. I told them that in a couple of weeks time it is coming out as a single, for Children in Need, so now they're all going to make their parents buy it! Have decided to do that in every class next week, I teach over 500 children a week so hopefully it will help!

Friday night is family night chez Boleyn, but if I get the chance I might pop me head round the door, if not have one for me, a nice cold fruity chardonnay please.

ARF - still backing Phoenix - Nothing's going to stop me now, Starship. Hmm, that looks a bit formal, should be gonna I think.

Ah. Nice to see a pint of my favourite already lined up. Who bought that?

    A deluxe weekend approaches.

I've been off for a couple of days and have worked myself a tad too hard in the gym and as a result I am aching from head to foot via every muscle.

So. Tomorrow I am going to pick up my brand new Jaguar XF and then, with Fulham hopefully winning at Anfield (OK, OK, I know....) I am taking Mrs MfR to The M for dinner and, get this, we are staying there. A long, romantic and, ahem, boozy meal awaits us and we don't have to drive home or grab a cab.

And. Cooked breakfast on Sunday morn in the restaurant!

    Ha!

Then, it is Chrimble shopping on Monday and then a lazy day on Tuesday.

Before the carnage that is returning to the office on Wednesday.

Still. Something has to said for this holidaying at home lark.

Well, that's one pint down, who's round is it?

Mine? Alright, what are you having?

    Loving you

Most emotional at a live event.

You know what I mean, a gig or a game when you have simply lost it.

I'll start with two, this year.

Fulham v Birmingham. We were dead and buried and whoever won had a chance of staying up. We did and many tears flowed.

Secondly. Bon Jovi at Twickers. OK, I accept that a steady flow of alcohol was a factor, but when the first notes of 'Wanted' were plucked, I blubbed like a baby.

    Over to you, tub-fans.

    Oh, and Shankly was right.

One more I can add, which wasn't a 'live' thing, but I remember when George Harrison died. Mrs MfR walked up the 'aisle' - we were married in a hotel - to 'Here Comes The Sun, and George was always our favourite Beatle.

The Beeb ran a show as a tribute to him and Travis played 'our tune' acoustically.

Mrs MfR and I looked at each other when Fran sang 'Little darlin'....' and blubbed and blubbed and blubbed.

The best ever tune to run to in the gym.

    Ever.

Now. I've done a bit of research. Some if it with one Christophe of Lambie Pie running next to me, and I have come to a conclusion.

    Take a deep breath chaps.

    Ace of Spades. Motorhead.

    Yep.

Been through them all. Many, many close calls, but Lemmy and the boys win it hands down.

Pop it on your pod and let rip.

    Sleep well.

PS You win some, lose some, it's all the same to me.

Brrrrrrrrrr, it's cold this morning, car's are both crisply white with a layer of snow, the roads look clear but methinks I'll spend most of today dealing with accidents.....best put the ol' thermals on in case?????

Morning - shooooz you guys had a grand FNWC! Skimmed thru and:

    Matt - emotional wreck twice:

    1. I was raised on the music of Lennon / McCarney and remember as if it was yesterday waking up on 9 December 1980 to Imagine. My initial somewhat sleepy reaction to my mum was "aaah that's nice to wake up to" then she told me the awful news of John's murder. I was distraught. And 12 years old.

    2. July 1990. Wembley Stadium. It was my first ever visit to Wembley Stadium and it was to see The Rolling Stones. After much queueing, got into the Stadium late afternoon and Don't Go by The Hothouse Flowers was pumping out over the PA. I was so ovecome by the whole thing, I quite literally burst into tears and crumbled. Then BF (pre mr diva days) was mortified and didn't know where to look - after all, we still had a good few hours before Mick and Keef made an appearance. His embarrassment got even worse when I insisted on trying to feel the hallowed turf thru the cracks in the pitch covering!

btw: CLP played by Gobsmackers from that concert: Don't Go and Start Me Up earlierthis year.

Wow - feeling all choked now thinking about that!

    Last night: Tony Hawkes

He was alright, not brilliantly achingly funny like Michael McIntyre or Ed Byrne or Rich Hall, but a genteel humour - more like a dinner party guest imparting his anecdotes ...... about going round Ireland with a fridge!

AnnieG - after he'd finished he did some autographs. Thinking of you, I scrabbled in my handbag for a piece of paper, queued and asked him to sign "To Annie" - my friend in Scotland who loves you. It was a bit loud in the hall still and although my mission was accomplished, it's signed "To Ali" !! I'll pop it in the post to you on Monday!
