BLOG THREE 80 3
So, sorry to ruin the...
...possibility of a record number of posts but am in early today.
Truth is I've been here since well before. Had the meet at the Beeb TV Centre this morn'. Now first off, got there way early. Left the homestead at 7 a.m. amidst the mist, meeting wasn't until 9.30 but you never know with the A3 the M25 and the A40, anyhow what are the chances ? No traffic, like none, none whatsoever. Arrived at rendezvous 8.05. One hour twenty five minutes early ! Possibly the earliest i've been for anything ever.
Pow-wow went well, very well. The new boss is very nice, very sharp and knows what "she" wants. More news as and when. By the way am printing off your thoughts to give to her, honest ! Keep 'em coming, although Brian's Got Talent is way ahead at time of print. Ha ha !
Now one more thing.
The TFI memorabilia is not a T SHIRT and is currently "in the move" so won't surface for a a couple of weeks. So tie your knickers down.
CLP.
2008.
X.
P.S. All Request first songs still accepted on this blog.

Yes but Chris, TV centre is a pretty cool place to arrive early and have unfettered access! I was there on a 'tour' the other day and was dying to just sneak off and see the bits they don't want you to see!!!
That is so typical- I always plan on leaving early to get to Manchester, and when I do there is no traffic and I arrive far too early- even before the cafe is open! But when I am on the last minute every car seems to be on the road and it takes forever to get there and I am late!!!
Can't think of a song, so will leave it up to someone with good judgement to choose!

Chris,
Yes, it was quite wrong of me to assume it is a T-Shirt you have for Gingembre! Whatever it is, he will love it, that's for sure!
And you are right on the "Brian's Got Talent" suggestion. I have been saying for a very, very, long time on this blog - Hazel Love is sooo clever!
Have a good weekend everyone.

After all your very kind comments re my situation I decided to rejoin face book. You see in my previous name Prof Plum I got barred for not having a real name. Anyway it Seems Face Book have also barred all my email addresses so thats it . No Facebook for me I am afraid.
I am on Wayn it seems where I can list all the countries I have visited with dates years etc. Now that would take me forever so I think I will just stick to You Tube.

Good afternoon one and good afternoon all,
I have been ex-blog absentia for a couple of days and so much has happened!!.....
gingembre...how exciting!!!
It's great there are so many posts and posters (!) these days, but it makes it a full-time job to keep up!!!
I just typed a really long post ('thank goodness you erased it', I hear you all cry)
about a recent job interview that I went to, leaving loads of time to get there etc etc, in response to Chris' blog. However, I find some of my stories lose a bit in translation from brain to blog so deleted it!!
I seem to be devoid of inspiration at the moment - but still wanted to say 'hi' : )

Anyhoo, Christophe, getting anywhere early, as long as you have time to do something lovely with the earlyness(?) is lovely...I have yet to arrive at my new job early, but then it doesn't matter because they're not like that! Is very cool to go home when I'm supposed to as well...instead of waiting for the last, last, person to finish their never-ending phone call etc...
Although I think once the weather (sorry, IF the weather) perks up, I may well be leaving home a bit sooner so that I can walk in along the seafront. Bliss and a half!
I'm SOOOOO hoping to get home for the start of ARF as I still can't find my ear thingy for my phone, but if I don't make it, I'll see you for the rest!

Blimey, its getting a bit crowded in here.
If you let me squeeze in, I'll only be a mo.
Very quickly then, yes, I too 'planked' this morning, went on to have a busy but generally boring day, I'm now back in Rudgwick Towers enjoying the first beer of the evening (always the one that tastes the best), before settling down to Ramsay's thingywotsit show (via S**+) and then either a couple of episodes of 24 or the movie of choice, possibly Manhattan.
There. That's tonight sorted.
Tomorrow will consist mostly of precious little, interspersed with a trip to the gym and then a swift pint at The LI, assuming that the moat has subsided.
And next week? The Foos. Oh yes.
This time next week Rodders, we'll be rocking.
Or more likely stuck in traffic around the north circular.

Ouch my head...must have gotten mugged last night as wallet is empty and head is sore:)
What a gorgeous day though...going to take some previous advice and head off to the south downs today.
Hey AF - I shall tell you what I do :)
I am the Senior (check that out!!!) International Officer for the University of Reading. I get to travel to some pretty far flung destinations (we don't do Europe) and meet students who want to come and study at my uni and (this is the good part) have to make them want to come to out university...how cool is that!!! To be fair there is some actual work that we have to do but it is all fun..we give talks at schools, attend exhibitions but you should see some of theplaces we get to go to...I know Hong Kong better than Reading!!! And as I am an amature photographer (here a plug my facebook group is Rob Aldridge Photography) this is even better.
The name EJR comes from uni when I always got the easiest jobs for the best pay and my mate Dougie coined the phrase and it stuck. It is my actual nickname too ...I love life it is soooooo cool

Afternoon all!
Well, I have to start by saying that Bruce was simply FANTASTIC!!!! He did 2 1/2 hours - a good mix of old stuff and a smattering off of Magic (Girls in Summer Clothes etc). Man, he can really do it! Nice bum too, for a man of his age. Actually, he reminded me of an older version of Ben Affleck - maye Ben's his secret love child from many moons ago???
As for The Emirates. Yes, I almost did wet myself but more due to the fact that it was a long train journey and an even longer tube journey. Breathtakingly beautiful stadium tho. I now want to sell everything I own and get a season ticket for Arsenal, but Mr Diva says, in a very gruff voice "you'll be lucky"! Not sure if he means because there's a twenty seven year waiting list, or because he wouldn't let me go to football on my own! Maybe I'll get a stdium tour for my 40th ?!?!?
(NB: Boris - if you're reading this ... for goodness sake, sort out the London Underground. Minging doesn't even begin to describe it!!!!)
As for today, been to garden centre (well, one garden centre and also a little privately owned nursery/someone's back garden) and bought loads of plants. Then spent the afternoon doing hanging baskets (2) and teracotta pots for patio (4). Mr Diva now over the allotment planting the bits I had no room for!
I'm back off into the kitchen to finish dinner: lamb shanks in red wine, rosemary and garlic - so no friends for me tomorrow then!!
Cheerio campers!

Good Morning all - after being away from the land of computers for the weekend - I'm now finally able to say -
THANKYOU CHRIS for playing my choice of ARF as first song on the show on Fri!!! So I turned up the already knackered speakers in my little Fiesta and sang at the top of my voice - a great start to my weekend!

Morning all....I have never been able to get the hang of Sunday evenings...yesterday I got up at 9am - and spent the day very actively walking around the Sussex downs and helping my parents in the garden - drove back to Reading in the early evening - had some dinner - went for a stroll around the university lake, got back to my lodging, read a few chapters in my book - wrote a small amount on the blog, had a bath, listened to a radio show and then turned the lights off...could I sleep...nope. I don't have a guilty conscience (well, not THAT guilty), am fairly active...so why do I find it so hard to get a good night's sleep on a Sunday - every week is the same. I was up with the birds at 5 on the morning clock as well...of course I shall sleep the sleep of angels tonight but that is not the point. Does anyone else have the same problem - or are they any suggestions that actually work ...?

Hiya
thanks one and all for the happy thoughts - the weather was great on sat and the party went really well - most people turned up eventually and it was a really good atmosphere.
I went to sleep early last night thinking I had my first physio this morning and had disturbed dreams all night about the physio man 9not even met him yet) and Ant and Dec (we were on a pub crawl?) so not sure what that was about - have woken up feeling just as tired as when I went to bed. Got up early to come to work early for physio (the man operates at work - i work for a large comapany) only to find my appoitment is tomorrow - doh!
so in work silly early for no reason - oh joy :-)

Morning one and morning all,
Just an afterthought Chris: you mentioned in your blog 'tie your knickers down'. I wondered if this is a clue to your next venture.....a kind of variation on 'Don't Forget Your Toothbruth'?
EJR - I am just the same on a sunday/monday - awake far too early. It now feels like lunch time.
Gingembre - please allow me to buy you a pre-season cuppa - if you would like.
Friends, I feel partly responsible for the downturn in our sunny weather prospects. I don't mean I have single-handedly made such a significant impact on the global climate - although, I did forget to take my 'bag for life' on a recent shopping trip. You can be made to feel a bit of a villain on such occasions. Oh, no matter that the children have arrived late at school with homework not completed, scruffy shoes and someone elses PE kit....as long as we take our 'bags for life' shopping with us, that's all that matters : )
Anyway, where was I? Oh yes....... you see, a couple of weeks ago, I purchased a little BBQ and a couple of sun loungers - since then, the weather has been awful!!! Sorry folks

Gingemb, are you going to G....g ? Been there, its like what hotel California Shoudl be, you'll never want to check out or to leave!
To those who are occasional 'tube' users, would you believe it's truly much better than it used to be! I dont use it that much any more (just a few times a month now) but Boy I don't miss it, I was a regular citycentre commuter, that was me tottering on heels clutching overpriced paper cup of warm milk and balancing book and bag and case in other hand, watching for cracks and sudden gaps in the pavement that had cruelly cut short the lives of many high heeled shoes!
Hi to all new bloggers, and hug to those who might need one, agh even if you dont feel you need one, help yourself :-)

kittens are so cute - there are some being advertised at work for a good home but i don'yt think Mr bp would let me have any more (i have two cats already) although I did text him asking very nicely
okay, kittens need feeding little and often. Its never to early to start on the litter tray - just plonk them in it - get their jabs before they go and and, unless they are never leaving the house, get them done or you will be a granny very soon! talk to your local vet to get them registered and dates for all the jabs/ opetaions they will need. After this is jabs once a year for safely - cat lukemia or flu are killers and can be caught very easily.
make sure there beds have stuff to snuggle up to - they will miss their mum (don't we all)
and don't bother with expensive toys - scrunched up paper and string are fine.
Have fun with your kitty and take lots of photos :-)

Morning all (well, it was when I started reading through the posts...!)
I am v.v.v.v.v.v.v. tired today and am going to go back to bed after feeding time at the zoo, which is hopefully very very soon.
How exciting to all them wot got namechecked on Friday! Didn't get much chance to listen to the show although it was on in the background, panic-packing and all that for a weekend up north.
Glad to hear the weather was alright for you on Saturday bagpuss! It wasn't too bad in Manchester either, I think I even caught the sun a little.
Saw my gran on Saturday, was a little family reunion with both my brothers there too. Gran didn't remember having a granddaughter let alone that I was she, so news of the impending addition just went over her head. She recognised my brothers kind of, frequently throughout the meal, but was pretty vacant. She's so thin and frail :( Worst bit was seeing my mum on the edge of tears the whole time. She's been so strong for so long, watching her mum slowly slip away. I wanted to wrap her up and hug her forever and tell her how proud I was of her, but all I can do is little things to tell her that as I think anything further would just break the armour she's built up around herself to cope. It'll all come out when gran does go eventually.
Hurrah, it's feeding time :)

Cats much cleaner??!!! You've not met my parents' cat then ;) She's banished to the kitchen overnight, and during the day all the rooms have to be closed off to her so she doesn't leave inappropriate presents in inappropriate places! Bless her she's old and infirm, and can't use the garden to relieve herself either as she gets chased off by the other cats. Poor thing is back to using kitty litter. Which ends up all over the kitchen floor. Mum delighted in telling me that anything other than the most basic of catfoods causes much problems these days.
She loved the weekend though, all these people congregating in mum's living room, keeping her company! She'll sulk all week now though cause everyone's gone home :)

Aw, Dreamer, congratulations on Alfie!! Like babies, labs are at their total cutest when they're small, with those gorgeous liquid eyes.
I have 3 tips you might try.
You could try pheromone spray (DAP, get it from vets) which is supposed to have a calming effect.
You could put an old worn t-shirt in his cage/basket so he's got your smell and doesnt miss you so much
You could try a ticking clock wrapped in a blanket, which is supposed to remind them of their mummy.
Or of course you could totally give in and have him snuggled down on the bed with you!!!

Puppies need to feel safe and secure, best in a puppy cage at night. My other half used to sit on the kitchen floor until Max was asleep and then "tuck him up" for the night. Was just like having a newborn baby - absolutely exhausting at first but well worth the effort. The worst bit was going down ~ 3am in the morning to let him out for a wee.
Must admit we have 2 cats too. Pru our one-eyed Tortie rules the roost, despite the fact she has a poorly heart. She just loves winding Max up. She is 11 years old now and is much loved by us all.
Good luck with Alfie he sounds super

Come up for air again - shattered and only first day back but stuff got to go out in post tonight!! Paperless my foot - not with our regulator - use half a tree a week and I don't think it's necessary but then wot do I know!
Rob - not had time to check fb - probably do tonight and was too tired to read my instruction book for coolpix - menus on cameras - oh please!! fish and chips please!!
Dreamer - you got your doggy yay!! I am now going to sound like one of those persons at the school gate whose youngster is born sitting up and able to spoon feed itself - 0h yes and can say a couple of words too!!!...
Put doggy in kitchen for first few weeks with newspaper to pee on - which he did!! bless! Had fluffy bed, old jumper - other half's not mine , teddy and toy puppy to cuddle - not a peep - slept through! House trained in a week 'cept for the odd accident at night but confined to kitchen. Hey presto! Oh yes and we used to play with him - chasing toys at night so he was worn out!!
Downside - puppy teeth like needles. Pleased when they fell out!

Ooh didn't give a flapjack update. Eventually I used the recipe from the old childrens' party book my mum bought when I was a tiddler. It was the black treacle you see, I have a liking for that yummy taste :)
Don't think I've ever had soft flapjacks from that recipe - taste great, discovered they soften beautifully if given a quick blast in the microwave. Remember making them with mum as a kid and we always left them in the oven too long - easily distracted, me and mum :)
I did think the baking tray would have to go to the great kitchen in the sky, but it seems that over the weekend the remaining oat mixture which appeared to have become one with the tray has softened, so I may yet be able to rescue it.
Practise makes perfect though, so they say, so I will be making another batch soon!

Good afternoon Christoff … except you are not there!!
Glad to hear the meeting went well …. we wait with baited breath to see what the outcome is! No bad thing being there early though! And that is very cruel keeping us guessing about the memorabilia! Anyhoo - hope you have a good week - you’ll be missed!
Look at all these new bloggers!!! How exciting! See - we can’t be that bad a bunch of folk!! But it’s going to take me FOREVER to get through all those comments!! And I’m heading off out for dinner … and I still have Dr Who to watch on i-player!! And there is a huge pile of dishes and tidying up to do! So much to do, so little time!
We had an amazing weekend in Lochinver with the Scottish Flickr group - fantastic weather and great company! http://www.flickr.com/groups/scottishmeetup The only down side was the ticks - removed 2 from the wee lass and had to see the GP today as she had a ring round one of them - but he said we only have to worry when it reaches 3cm - it is only 1.5cm just now! Hey-ho!
Will catch up with y’all later!

Failing that i will be resorting to Sprkly's advice.....if all else fails......climb into bed with me Alfie!!! Anyway sure with all this help you've given me a full'ish night sleep awaits!!

Morning chaps and chapettes :)
and what a miserable one it is here in Reading. I discovered a hole in the bottom of my shoes during my morning walk around the lake - bugger. So squelchy shoes to amuse the team with today. Still, I do have a grin that it is going to take a plastic surgeon to remove as it is now T minus 7 days and counting till my epic hols :) All booked and paid for now (with a little help frm Mastercard lol)
Did not get to see spring watch as I don't have a TV but will try to catch it on I player later.

Not sure where I want all the bits and pieces of me to go but I do know I want to go peacefully in my sleep like my grandfather - not fighting and screaming like his passengers!!!! ;) (Only Joking) - I have a friend who wants to be shot at 97 by the jealous husband of a 19 years old supermodel - but I think it not too likely :)

Buenos Dias one and all
What a lovely summer day again.
I was reading the blog and picked up on EJB walking around the University lake. It brought back memories of Guilford University where my daughter studied. Now then a Far Eastern student helped himself to a duck from the lake and cooked it. He was only found out because he got food poisoning. More a case of Spring roll than Spring watch I suppose.
But what is going on with the weather anyway. Is it all these melting Ice bergs causing all the rain or what.

Gosh I can't count the number of times I left home before I was 16...plenty...I used to go off to the top of the nearby down until i had cooled down and I got hungry.

Morning all,
It rains here too :( hoping I can find some shoes that aren't just made of canvas, and hoping I can keep my trouser legs out of the puddles. Hmm. Doesn't look likely to be honest, I shall just have to hope the hubby still loves me despite my soggy socks.
Debbie - good luck with the bigger kid... it is possible to look back on these times and laugh, honest.
In the car on the way up to Manchester my two brothers were reminiscing about childhood. My goodness, the stories. They did not get on at all and were just horrible to each other - and now they're in their twenties they can look back and smile because thankfully they now live in different countries and therefore get on much better :)
Cleaning day today, yesterday everything just got left everywhere as we were falling asleep into our takeaway...

Sorry, I'm feeling a bit rant-y today. I was bubbling with my kitten news at work yesterday and everyone I told acted as if I had informed them I was getting a pet crocodile rather then a kitten (although I actually have a soft spot for crocs - sorry Super BP), they laughed at her name (I'm calling her October) and were just basically miserable and unsupportive.
I confessed that I was more of a dog person but that, due to the size of our Wendy house, it wouldn't be fair to have a dog. One of the GPs I work for asked why we didn't 'just' have an extension (like it's that simple) and so I pointed out that as I live in a 400-year-old cottage, it would look a bit daft - that shut him up.
He's a real git. He's 55(ish) and drives a tiny, red sports car that he has to basically cripple himself to get in and out of - I call it the mid-life crisis on wheels. Phew - sorry about that - just needed to get that off my chest.
Anyway (deep breaths) - Super BP - thanks for the tips. Hope Mr BP relents x
Jeni - thinking of you. My Gran of 84 is also slowly going in that direction x
Gingembre - congrats to your wife.
See you tomorrow when hopefully, I'll have calmed down.

Have to say it's much easier now that I'm a singleton again though (not that I'm suggesting you should leave Mr D of course!!) - but at least when I'm at war it's with only one person instead of caught between two!

Good morning you lovely bloggers and blogettes!
How are we all this tardy Tuesday? The rain has finally reached us in the Highlands, which is fine as our grass seed has finally started to grow! It ain’t going to be the flattest of lawns though, but to have a wee patch of green will be nice! Then I can get the garden seat I saw!
I had a very uneventful birthday, lovely gifts, out for dinner, wee lass such a nightmare and not eating that we wondered, yet again, why we eat out with her!!! Then home to watch Dr Who on i-player - what a corker of an episode!!!
Coco - NOW I realise who you are!! Yup - I remember the FB fiasco you had!! Dare I suggest a new email account and persona just for FB? I have done this with my Second Life character, who has her own email, blog and Flickr account (yup, despite outward appearances it would seem I have too much time on my hands!!). I believe Jeni has a great flapjack recipe in her FB note cards … or was it gingerbread men!? What is DrMcC’s name on here now?
Missy-alex - how do we get to your blog? I do miss being able to add an http to my name! How was the massage? My dear friend, the Mum of the wee lass I have in the am’s, got me a gift card for a pregnancy massage …. oh, how I am looking forward to that!!
Loulou - can you even begin to imagine how jealous I am of you!!!!!!!!
Gaby - I hope you have a note excusing you!!! *taps foot* It is a full time job trying to keep up with everyone!!
Phoenix - Elaine Page played Caravans on Sunday!
Catwoman - ((((((HUGS)))))) I’m sure you have many happy memories of Spider to comfort you.

Gingembre - Are there photos of your undies tied down?! Glad work is going well and the knees are holding out!!
DWNB - We are all still here honey!!! But it makes for a long read, eh!?

Highland Lass - Bruce was a force to be reckoned with. Awesome. And very sexy for an old 'un!!! He played for about 2 and a half hours so good value for money. And me being an Arsenal supported, just being in the Emirates Stadium was a biggie!! He did a roaring rendition of Because The Night (which he wrote, but Patti Smith released) and also as one of the encore songs, Born To Run, so I was a very happy bunny indeed.
Talking of bunnies, it tasted delish. Sorry if I offended anyone by eating bunny but I also eat cows, pigs, lambs and all fishes. So can't go all gooey eyed over something just because it's a bunny. Wild bunny too. So free!

It's not just uniforms that do it for me (although they are quite delish) - when I met hubby he worked in a factory fixing diesel engines, so I hardly ever saw him all scrubbed up and gleaming. So when he turned up for a date in a SUIT one time I nearly needed resuscitating!! *swoon* I look forward to those days when he has reason to wear something other than his scruffs :)
And comfort eating :) you go bump them outta the way Debbie, I'll be there with you! Today's comfort food of choice is doritos and salsa mmmmm :)

Because 'im indoors usually wears a 'uniform' and I wore one myself for a number of years, it doesnt do anything for me - although - tho i say it myself - 'im indoors quite liked me in mine and I think was a bit dewey when I traded it in for a mufti jobbie .... funny.
Glad i dont have it on today though, it'd be covered in cat hairs from this blog!

It's not just Firemen though I also used to wear a uniform so have this latent tendancy to anyone in a uniform and tux now we're in a different league altogether....
Tunes from Poole - nope can't come up with anything really much.
EJR put on a dJ and bow tie and we will all bow down :) sorry couldn't resist!
Debbie - ban both boys to different rooms and rule the roost if they can't speak civilly to each other or you they have to stay in their rooms - Mr C included. Also the threat of leaving them all to it for a night works a treat too as they have to get on.
Must dash soon be end of work day and the swimming pool is calling out - along with the hot tub and steam room.

lol..used to wear an army uniform (6 years) but now just a jacket and shirt (no tie normally) so just comfy...I do drag out the old tux from time to time but not often..it's a bit like being a child and cleaning the room...as I tell my fab nephew:
"If you always keep it tidy then it will be expected, but, keep it in a state and then when you want something then all you need do is clean it (as you are expected to anyway) and mum and dad will think you have done something special"
My brother and his wife love me...honestly ;)

Good grief.
You look away for five minutes and all h*ll breaks loose.
Two things I noticed.
Firemen and Fred
When my bathroom burst into flames (the shaving light shorted, forchunettly when we were at home else would've been major d) I had the pleasure of two appliances parked right outside my house, and far too many GAWJUS boys running up and down my stairs...I even preserved one dirty bootprint for posterity...
My very first ever in the world cat was called Fred. He was a big black BEEYOOTIFUL boy...and he long since went to panther heaven...
And it's only while the firemen are dressed. A strippergram does zip dip diddly for me. A get-dressed agram, now that might work...and yes, a chap in a tux/white shirt...

I have been a very naughty boy...father forgive me for I have sinned.....ladies look away now...my plans were for a cultured roasted camembert and crispy french bread but no.....
Curried camembert and processed cheese omlete with four slices of (to be fair: wholemeal) bread..oh and a hwuaooowge glass of Cabernet Sauvignon:)
heres the recipe .teeheeeheeeee
Take two large free range eggs
break em into a bowl
add pepper and salt (a dash of each)
Add the equivalent amount of milk (basically double what is in the bowl
whisk well
Add teaspoon of Rogan Josh curry paste (other types are available)
Whisk
Heat a non stick pan (small one for a deep omlete), sneak in a noggin of butter, yes, yes, yes I know you don't need to but if you have strayed this far then you may as well..your soul belongs to the red one anyway ;)
Get the grill going up full
prep some slices of melty lovely camembert about three slices from the center of a round will do
peel two slices of procesed cheese (trust me)
Now, pour the eggy mix into the heated pan and pop any bubbles that form with your spatula (a plastic bendy one is best)
Keep pulling the rim of the forming omlete into the middle so the liquid bit flows to the edges..it will look messy but don't worry.
Once the omlete is half formed in the pan then drop in your camembert and put under the hot grill...and then wait - you may want to butter your (wholemeal) bread -this is healthy!
Once you hear sizzling (this will be the cheese meeting the pan) or if it looks like it is going brown on top then pull the pan out and put back on the heat (on full) - the outside of the omlete will start to blacken but don't leave it there too long.
Now whack on the two slices of processed cheese and put it back under the grill for 20 secs or so, then onto a plate with it (you may need to use the spatula a little) and fold it in half - then eat...oh yes you should also have a big glass of wine.
Please don't hate me...and a little practice will make it perfect in time

So, any suggestions what to cook for the dearly beloved? Has to be something that can be majicked out of thin air, is deeply nourishing, and whipped up in a jiffy.
Or something like that.
Don't think the hubby is too enamoured at the idea of sweet and sour chicken from a tin...

Evening all,

Jules77 - Recently I have been feeling better and was fortunate to have a good six week stint of feeling good. I know this is a set back but I have learned to give in to it and when I'm ready I will start working on recovery again. I'm also very fortunate to have been referred to a Homeopathy Consultant who is fantastic and just last week I start a well being programme at our Homeopathic Hospital. Strangely enough last week when I attended my first class I was feeling really good almost to the point of thinking should I really be here! Here I am a week later and can't wait to get there tomorrow because I know I still need it, so looking at it positively (which I agree isn't always easy) It's good that I get good and bad days while I'm on the course. Any tips I can pass on to you I will - are you on fb?

Greetings this 7.45 of the morning clock to you all.
Now, I am not one to bewail or moan but that Sarah Kennedy is getting right up my nose. I used to put it down to the fact that she had the unpleasant job of greeting me each moring as I arose from my slumber but when Aled stepped in I did not feel grumpy or crotchety each morning . This morning it clicked what it was that bothered me...she is never happy! She has the most rotten life and wants us all to feel sorry for her! So today the rest of the world and London has "milk of magnesia"..oh wailey wailey wailey Sarah...you'd think from the way she was banging on that it was a real travesty. And, which is more, having preped myself for the monsson I was expecting to see outside I stepped into a freshly scrubbed world that is the blessed town of Reading, to powder blue sky with gentle white clouds scudding by, brids chirpping a greeting, whislting dustbin me...I had to keep checking behind me to see if Dick Van-Dyke would be skipping up behind me.
So i am going to look on FB to see if there is group that i can join that campaigns to force her of the air - I wouldn't want my license fee (if I paid any) (it's OK, I don't have a TV) to go towards subsidising "Kennedy Towers". Grrrrr ...perhaps I can start a petition at No10.
Sorry for the rant...i love everyone else in the world - except Mugabe..the prat, or the Mayanmar junta, or..........

Jules, I am not a techie but when my browser has "issues" I go into Tools/Internet Options/Delete and clear both cookies and temp files - this often works for me and allows me to fill up the space on the blog with my mindless drivel :)

Morning all!
In work at silly o'clock today due to the fact that Mr diva's car finally blew up last night (hurrah!!!) and I had to take him to work. We both work in Colchester but on opposite sides of the town. He starts at 8am and I start at 9.30 am. So here I am! Picking new vehicle up tonight so hopefully no more silly o'clock starts for The Diva!!
EJR - I too feel like that about SK. Good idea about FB group - if I can't find one, I'll make one up and email you to join me!
I tend to iPod in the mornings whilst making myself gawjus. Mr Diva got me a docking station for my b/day last year and it gets used every single day - I hardly ever play Cds now. My morning entertainment tends to be Mr Brand's podcast, or just shuffle on my pod. Love it!!
And EJR - no, I don't own a boat but may well have to invest soon if it doesn't stop flamin' raining! It had better stop raining by Saturday - we don't want our cider watered down at the cider fest!
Right, off to check FB and SK groups!
Laters playmates!

ejr - cannot belive you didn't know RBH - its the biggest hospital in Berkshire and where most berkshire people get born (not me though) - are you not a local of Reading?

Oooohhhhh what I wouldn't give to be able to enjoy a full cup of tea this morning, that feels like just what my brain is screaming for.
Morning troopers.
Have been running on adrenaline since hubby knocked over a glass of blackcurrant juice in his efforts to turn SK off this morning. Knocked over is a bit of an understatement, he pretty much hurled it off the table. Went EVERYWHERE. And then he got cramp so I had to jump out of bed and start the emergency mopping. Aargh... I don't do shocked wake-ups, I barely do wake-ups at all at the moment. About 15 minutes into the rescue operation the shock of being awake finally hit me, and what was hubby doing? Falling asleep again. Grrrrr. GRRRRR.
So now I am awake and recovering from the shock and wishing I liked tea.
Hehe... We have become ... what's the word... desensitised ... to SK and although the alarm wakes us up to her for half an hour, we manage to doze all the way through and barely catch any of it. That's the way to do it. Although, it's also the reason why the hubby is always running late... too much dozing and not enough getting up and foraging for weetos for me!!
What was I actually going to say this morning... I have no idea. None at all...
I have loved reading through last nights' posts!! :D And it's not stopped has it ;)
If I remember whatever it was I was going to say I'll try and remember long enough to write it down!

427 posts doing well everyone - we'll have to think up something to get more.

Debbie how did the warring factions get on last night.
I did get to the Health club for 30 lengths, steam room and hot tub and felt much better for it but still have head cold - taking D.. N.... to resolve the runny nose.
Mary and Jules keep going you're doing well.
EJR you and bingo should combine your efforts such merriment. Loved the photos on your group page.
I still like the idea of CLP having pub fireside chats with the great musicians and then having live (no miming) music. If you could interview anyone who would it be and what would you ask?

Hi everyone,
Very impressive, the blog is ENORMOUS!
brightAnnie-G: apologies, I have been meaning to say to you, I am most definitely on for a Scottish Meet! End of July ok for me, and all of August. If the weather is good (!) we could hopefully find a table outside somewhere in Royal Exchange Place. Mary and I went to Social on Saturday and it is terrific! Cocktails for £3!!! But really, I'm happy to go anywhere, so please feel free to arrange something.
Mary: so sorry to hear you are not feeling good. You were looking so well on Saturday, so that's a shame. Hope you will be feeling better soon.
And Jules, sorry to hear about you. It must be so exhausting.
Debbie: I have missed your plans for coming to Glasgow. Perhaps you have discussed this on FB. I have to tell you, you would have such a great time! Glasgow is a fantastic city (bad areas of course, but you stay away from them) and you would be made so welcome. I don't know Anne, so I am looking forward to meeting her. Mary and I have met up together twice and she is lovely beyond words. You have to get yourself here!
To everyone else: well done on keeping the blog going. EJR: you have caused quite a stir, eh?!

Evidently not all uniforms are equal :) I can think of a long list of bad ones...
Nope no names yet, and after the stories I heard at the weekend nobody's going to hear any name suggestions until it's named officially! I have a good solution to names - write them down, and all of a sudden they're no longer interesting :)
Sigh... when do I get to see Mr Jumpingbean in a tux next...
I shall point him in the direction of the various groups, see what he makes of them!
Debbie you're getting good at this mediating lark, well done!
Easyjob - we've only been here in Steyning 10 months or so, I think the first 7 were spent travelling between here and Manchester sorting things out and trying to sell our house. Makes getting to know a place difficult I know!
Ooh, who mentioned airshows? Phoenix that's right.... that's something to look forward to! The airshow in Shoreham is on again this year, if anyone fancies coming along - me and mr jumpingbean will be there on the Sunday, fresh from our holiday in S Wales! It's on the 30th and 31st August this year - I need to write that in my diary, have just got a shock realising I nearly booked our holiday over the top of it (mr jumpingbean wouldn't have been pleased about that...) oops...

I originated from the seaside with long beach which I used to ride along in the wintertime but these days is taken up with all the kite landsurfers - those three wheel thingys which are really wicked and I would like to try out. I am now on the South Coast in Poole with loads of boats, pleasure craft the odd tall ship and lots and lots of windsurfers and kitesurfers so am hoping to get some really good photos on FB soon.
I volunteer for local Lifeboat fundraising and have a great time.
I agree not all uniforms for me either - traffic wardens are a no no, not sure about mechanics though.

New_ChrissyS : A stir? Moi? Have I.?..great - I do so enjoy making an impression - usually it's a bad one...people start out laughing at first..then it is the screams and the fire and the boys in blue, riot gas..it generally goes downhill from there ;)

i think that everyone on the blog is great - I must admit it is a pretty self-policing concept as cretins simply don't listen to R2..it is so nice just to share views and see how others are getting along. Even just the few days I have spent on the blog have shown me what an eclectic lot we all are...the world should be populated with R2 listeners..perhaps when the ballon finnaly goes up the directions to the super secret shelters will be given out on R2 (not the SK show though) and we can re-populated with world with the top genes available :)

hmmm... I think there is too much emphasis on the curry part of my omlete recipe..it is only a teaspoon full...and Rogan Josh is not particularly strong..it made for a lovely robust taste- elegantly contrasting the savoury meltiness of the two cheeses...yummy...might have another one tonight if I was not worried about Cholesterol poisoning :)
Might give the R4 option a try tomorrow - I re-read some of what i have written about SK and am worried I could be accused of bullting the whining, middle-class, jibbering fool.

EjR - I can remember a while back quite a few R2 listeners posted messages on the R2 message boards about SK, and how "unfit" she is for waking up to, dreary etc etc. So don't panic - I know we're not alone in the mutual dislike of her style.
Nothing personal - she's probably a very nice lady to lunch with - but her DJ style just isn't to my liking, esp. at half siz in the morning.
btw, "bulting" sounds like something that might (or might not!) take place in certain parts of Amsterdam .... "2 Euro for a good bulting sir .... ?"
