Wow - well THAT was a night and a half, wasn't it? We can't quite believe it's all over, if we're honest. But one thing we absolutely CAN believe - that the British public is just as generous as it always has been.
BBC Breakfast's Bill Turnbull with Pudsey.
In fact, we're thrilled and more than a little bit humbled that in 2012 we actually managed to beat the total raised on the night last year! The final total for 2012, of £26,757,446 is nothing short of brilliant. So thank you, thank you, thank you everyone.

As always I was impressed by the BBC children and need program and the enormous number of people who gave their time, energy and money to support children in need. I would like to share with you just how much children are affected by this fundraiser. I am a child therapist and one of my children (9yrs) old came to his last session with a teddy bear for me (usually its a hand made card) but he said "this is a children in need teddy for you because you helped a child in need and you can let all the other children see it" . Such rational understanding, children are wonderful copers.
