Basshunter - 'Every Morning'

Hey, Oasis fans, I think I might've found a way to keep the band going. You interested? Excellent!

I have the perfect replacement for Noel. He's got the right haircut, carries himself in a suitably shamelessly arrogant fashion, and best of all, he can even write big anthemic crowd-pleasing tunes, which are naggingly familiar at first, then get stuck in your mind, and best of all, they'll probably sound great when everyone gets together to sing them in a stadium.

The only drawback is...it's Basshunter.

(Here's the video. It's cute...mostly.)

Now I know what you're thinking, you're thinking "how will Liam take it?", and to be honest, I'm not entirely sure. I expect he will be unhappy. I've a feeling that Liam takes a dim view of Basshunter's musical output so far. I would even go so far as to say that I would not be surprised if it turns out that Liam is not a Basshunter fan, and would find the idea of O-bass-is (we're all going to have to get used to it, might as well start now) to be troubling.

But if you listen to this song, and maybe strip away some of the Vengaboys backing, is it REALLY so very different to one of the big Oasis ballads like 'All Around The World'? OK, the lyrics are a little clunky, but c'mon, "slowly walking down the hall, faster than a cannonball"? We're not talking about Shakespeare being replaced by Peter Andre here.

And yes, Bassey's voice is perhaps a little soft, but so's Noel's. Liam would do a fine job on a song like this, leaving Jonas free for backing vocal duties, and maybe the odd lead on 'Don't Look Back In Anger', so that Liam can have a little rest.

The only real job of work is to pry that synth out of Bassy's hands and to put a proper, real, wooden guitar in there instead. Then teach him how to play it, put him in a parka, and then introduce him to Russell Brand. Job done.

Who's with me?

Hi guys. Does anyone have a clue as to why Basshunter's love interest gets lost out at sea, probably killed, at the end of this video? It's a bit odd to say the least. Maybe the actress did actually get lost out to sea and they thought it added something to the video and left it in.
AND if I'm not mistaken the girl is a former Miss Norway. I recognise her from a film I saw.

Maybe she got lost at sea - We can only hope can't we, maybe that way her silly man-face will keep out fo music videos then. That said this barely qualifies as music if you ask me, awful lyrics, awful vocals and boring melody.

PS Why has everyone got it in for Reggie? What's wrong with reading out texts?
PPS Mr Basshunter has such an inexpressive face it ruins the vid. Has he been drugged? Is he on industrial quantities of Tamazepam? Or marzipan?
Seeing his poor bovine face being led around by the director made me feel sorry for him. I haven't seen someone that awkward & ill at ease since I last farted in a lift.

ahahahahahahahhahahhha, just watched the video.. it was a lolcano if i ever saw one.. i have never seen a more awkward video in my entire life. truly. and the ending leaves me in complete wonderment. love the way the guys are such LADS! i can just imagine the dialogue

basshunter - 'okay guys i am gonna propose to my girlfriend, so whatever you do, do not ladishly throw my onto the catamaran netting while i do it.

lads - 'okay' (sniggers and throw basshunter into netting b4 he proposes)

basshunter - 'ggggguuuuyyyyyyyyssssssss, you're crazy, you know that? really crazy... but next time, do not drag me off anywhere okay?

lads - 'okay' (more sniggering, maybe they touch each other, then drag him off during next proposal)

basshunter - 'ggggggggguuuuuuuuyyyyyyyyyyssssssssssssss, you're so naughty!, where do u come up with this stuff???'

    Liked the ending, though.

I'm failing to see how Bashunter is Oasis with synths. Oasis have got a lot of nonsensical lines in their back catalouge but altogether, while more style than substance, have a heck lot more substance than this prat. And definitely more style besides. The video burns my eyes more than LoveGame does...

Surprisingly enough, I like this song! It's hardly amazing but it's perfectly solid so I'd give it 3 stars. It sort of sounds euphoric to me...and believe me I despised Now You're Gone and the slew of stinkers he released after it. But I think Basshunter has redeemed himself with this song!

randomenigma. you are random and that is an enigma.. now your gone is his best by a country mile! all his other songs are just slight altervatives to it.. i feel ill when i hear 'every morning'

  • Comment number 12.

Oh God, I despised Now You're Gone with such a passion! It's rare that I completely hate any artist but that song just made me completely write Basshunter off! Up until now...

Ha ha , I totally agree with you again Flatknees .

Now you're gone was a bone fide NUMBER 1 ,and a justified international smash !

If it's alright with Liam , I wanna bow out of predicting the peak position of this song , for the simple reason that I never want to hear it again .

For me this is songwriting of the lowest order . I am sure it sounds great in a club though !
