In the first chart after Michael Jackson died , he broke Elvis's record by having 13 songs in the TOP 40 at the same time .
The way Reggie conducted the chart that day , was broadcasting of the highest order , and the way he handled all those new entries and the impact that the download generation were making to the chart was superbly managed .
The understanding of a monumental situation was great radio .
