Get It On...the video
If you have ever wanted to see what goes on behind the scenes in the studio then take a look at this video which has been made by the online team at BBC Radio Scotland. After watching this I feel the TV show and the big screen version of GIO is only round the corner...

Bryan
On today's topic of hand me downs I remember that my father quite liked The Beach Boys and would sing Sloop John B as a party piece at family parties. So a bit of Good Vibrations wouldn't go a miss.
Another track he had was The Walker Brothers " The Sun Ain't Gonnae Shine Anymore". I always liked this but it wasn't until I heard the Julian Cope produced "The God Like Genius of Scott Walker" that I became a big fan of Scott Walker. "Jackie" is a personal fav. Would love to hear it tonight.

Did I see a Jethro Tull CD on the desk?

I do believe Glen got the honour of GIO's first video song. Wonder if the bobbed hats are still going in the back of the car.

Bonjour from La Belle province in Canada,
My friend Jack from the Netherlands made me love the Rolling Stones and under my thumb or you don't always get what you want and obviously Jumping Jack Flash was some of our favorites
Great show, listen to it all the time and I make many musical discoveries.
Thank you,
Charlotte AKA Charlie

Hi Bryan, my husband is a regular contributor to the show - he has even mentioned me on occasion -so I thought it was only fair for me to share his musical influences with you. When we first started dating he was always talking about the Super Furry Animals which I dismissed as music for boys, but he persevered by adding their tracks to mix CD's and playing them when I was in the house. I didn't realise the effect of this until he bought their greatest hits CD and I was shocked to hear that I knew just about every track on it and really liked them!! So can I please ask you to play SFA's " Northern Lights" as it always makes me a bit misty eyed and nostalgic and would please Danny Harrison from Larkhall immensely. Cheers, Kirstie

It's BBC copyright - otherwise I'd zip it up there in a flash! Perhaps the producers could get the vid placed elsewhere on the BBC websphere where there are no international restrictions?

Jim's duty is clear. At least two listeners in 'The Old North State' and others throughout the Americas are poised to raise their glasses and sing 'Freezer Jolly Good Fellow'
