The heat is on...
I've just looked up the weather forecast and have seen that it's going to be 27c in Glasgow when we are on air tonight. It's not a nice heat today - the city centre feels like a Florida swamp. Still, I'm very lucky that I have a job where I can come to work in shorts and here at the BBC we love the fact we have an open air roof terrace in the canteen.
I am sorely tempted to try and do the show outside on the roof tonight and recreate the Beatles rooftop concert of 40 years ago.
We did have our daily production meeting on the roof terrace earlier on today when this picture was snapped by Janice Forsyth who had just finished doing The Movie Cafe. Janice told me that this week's guests on her Saturday show are the Yeah You's who she describes as "one of my favourite guests ever".
That's one I don't want to miss, especially if this weather holds and I am listening to Janice sitting outside with a cold drink....which is what I suspect a lot of you will be doing tonight.
'Want' and 'Don't Want' is the theme if you fancy taking part....

Thanks to everyone who took part in tonight's Want / Don't Want theme - it was a really busy show with loads of requests. Luckily we had the
air-con turned up high in the studio otherwise Bryan and I would've been melting in this Glasgow 'heatwave'!
Look forward to hearing from you all on Saturday's Get It On...At The Weekend.

Did we get a hint of next weeks themes yet or is it now a requirement that we wait until Saturday night?

I'm sure you wouldn't want that to overshadow Emancipation Day in the Kingdom of Tonga. Surely a great excuse to play Tiki Torches at Twilight by El Rayo X.

I presume the moderators are asleep.
Let me create a distraction by saying that I bought the Simon and Garfunkel box set yesterday (800p in *** for 5 CDs and a DVD) and realised that the deja vu when hearing the drum pattern in Nightflight to Venus was occasioned by my subconscious memory of Fakin' It.
And dang me if they didn't play Roger Miller.
